Karla, the local property manager, was amazing! Great communication leading up to and during our stay. The weather turned a little chilly so Karla dropped off some 7 month old warmer clothes that my granddaughter could borrow during our stay. The owner was responsive as well.. Lovely property , accommodated our group quite nicely. ”

Peace and Quit

My family and I had an amazing stay in Daufuskie island. We truly unplugged and relaxed. The house is wonderful. Clean and has everything you need. The management company was wonderful and helped with all the detailed getting on the island and set up transportation from the ferry to the house. You need to rent a golf cart to get around if you want to explore. We had one for the week and we felt it was needed. We had an amazing time and we will be back. ”

Beautiful home, disappointing lack of transparency about damage

The house we stayed in was beautiful and well appointed. Unfortunately, the air conditioning on the first level was not working properly and the internet access what challenging, forcing us to use our personal hotspots and not rely on the internet, despite efforts to reboot. The biggest issue was the lack of transparency or at the very least, not informing us that there was no beach and no pool at this house. Due to damage from a 4 year ago hurricane, the high tide came in UNDER the house, the ground level was washed away and is non-existent, and there was nowhere around the house to find beach, even as this photo and description does not clarify. This was a big deal to us and we were disappointed. The island is an oasis of nature and beauty. The devastation remaining from the hurricane was disappointing. ”

Wonderful Experience

We had a five star experience on Daufuskie Island. The house and view were spectacular. With three stories, we had plenty of room to relax. Please note that there a few problems with torn and stained furniture, as well as the elevator not working, but these did not affect our stay. There is not a great deal of things to do on the island, three restaurants, and a few places to visit. With our electric bikes, we were able to ride all the tree lined roads and trails. It was perfect for bike riding. A bicycle or golf cart (rental) is a must. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation with no crowds, this is the place.”

True island escape

Daufuskie Island is a very special and simple place. Enjoy nature, island locals, trips into Hilton Head or just relax in this beautiful home and take walks on the beach. The house manager was super accommodating and full of great tips. ”

Escape to the island way of life!

Coastal Escape was genuinely an escape to a wonderful island way of life. With our own private stretch of beach to enjoy. We had 8 adults and two children in this beautiful home and had more than enough room with the way the house is laid out. My favorite spot was the third floor balcony where I watched the stars wink out and the sun rise. We were so blessed and thankful to enjoy this home and would love to come back. The residents of the island were welcoming and so friendly and helpful with the history of the island. Wonderful memories were made for our family and friends! -Linda Hardesty”

Most Relaxing Vacation Ever

Stunning home with the most serene surroundings I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Being unplugged and in such a beautiful place was just what we needed. I highly recommend this coastal escape for anyone looking to unwind and recharge in a five stars environment. Everyone we had the pleasure of speaking with was very helpful and made all aspects of the trip easy and enjoyable.”

Beautiful Home!!

The house was very beautiful! It overlooks the ocean on one side and the golf course on the other. This was a girl's golf trip, so we played Harbour Town on Hilton Head and then Melrose, Bloody Point and Haig Point on Daufuskie. The difficult part is just getting to the island. There is no grocery store, so you need to arrange to buy groceries before coming to the island. Our water taxi, Harbour Town Adventures, was not very nice about allowing us to bring the groceries on the boat. You also need to rent expensive golf carts ($50 per day per cart), to get around the island. These were not included with the house. The house has everything else that you need and looks brand new. We loved the decor! There are 3 master suites, making it very spacious, along with 2 other bedrooms, and a pull out couch on the third floor. We had a great time!!”
