June 2026A wonderful stay at a beautiful home.
We had a wonderful weeklong stay with an American and European family at this absolutely beautiful historic estate that was quiet, peaceful, and well-appointed. Even though it is nearly 5 centuries old, it has been renovated in recent decades to offer all the modern conveniences, while maintaining its original character. This spacious property had everything that we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, a parlor, a comfortable living room, a phenomenal master bedroom with a large private bathroom, and even a washer and dryer for our use. All the beds were comfortable with extra blankets and pillows as needed; the place was excellent in every aspect. The entire stay was relaxing and comfortable and we could not have had a better time together as a family. We were entertained by watching the horses, rabbits, and a cat that were on this stunning property, which was a gift of nature for us to admire each day. The home is situated in a beautiful rural part of Normandy and it was easy to travel from the house to the coast, plus to nearby Rouen for a day of sightseeing in this historic town and visiting the Notre Dame cathedral. It took us about 2 hours to travel to Utah and Omaha beaches and the Caen war museum, each worth a day trip. The gracious hosts went above and beyond to make our stay a five-star experience. Their communication was excellent, from initial correspondence - including a long list of nearby activities - to an extensive information package detailing everything we needed to know to be comfortable in the home. They personally traveled to this gorgeous home beforehand to prepare it for our stay. We are grateful and thankful to Rebecca and Willem for the opportunity to let us stay at Manoir Le Rouvray. ”
