I booked this property in August and had a reply from them the same month which said ' We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our lovely cottage. My office will be in contact with all the details '. This was dated 19/08/15. I heard nothing, so in December I tried to contact them again with no luck for a week. After finding them on the phone I was told they had no booking in place for me and that the cottage was rented out. After many e-mails and a week of constantly trying to get hold of the manager I was told via e-mail with no phone call at all that the cottage was already booked for a wedding and that I could have 4 hotel rooms. This was unacceptable due to having children. I was then moved to a larger property over the road that was in the middle of a large overflow car park for the Hotel. The place had 7 rooms in a building that were all tired looking and the whole area smelt of drainage, which was overflowing from drains outside the front of the house. They turned one of the bedrooms into a make shift lounge with 3 seats. The hotel told me I could move to the cottage on the 28th when it was clear. I went and asked reception to look at the cottage to see if it was better to be told it was now booked the night of the 30th. I managed to view the cottage that had been advertised as having ' a cosy kitchen ', to find a tiny, dirty, run down cottage with ripped carpets and no kitchen. The living room was no bigger than a decent sized car. It is very hard to find any positives for this place and why anyone would want to be there for a whole week with kids, especially with no garden and no kitchen. We had to eat out 3 times a day, The staff were poor and not very helpful and the only compensation we were offered was to clean our rooms every day which is usual standard for a hotel anyway. All in all it put a strain on us over Christmas having no booking and it was a huge disappointment for us and our family over the Christmas and New Year period. ”
