This home is on the hillside, in the Ojo de Agua neighborhood of San Miguel. Ojo de Agua is just on the edge of Centro, but a relatively easy, flat, and beautiful walk into the main plaza. Is very close to the lush Parque Juarez as well.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe - close to everything yet a bit more tranquil than being right in the middle of centro. You can walk to most places, but of course, you can also get a taxi to just about anywhere in town for about 30 pesos.

We built this home from the ground up, finishing in 2014. It is based on the hacienda style with many outdoor areas, but all the conveniences of a modern home.

There is a large kitchen and dining room that opens to a patio and to the solar heated pool and garden courtyard. By the front entrance, you will find a kitchen garden, well stocked with herbs and the occasional vegetable. In the back garden we have a lemon, lime, orange, and pear tree that you are welcome to use whenever there is fruit ready for picking!

The master bedroom is above the kitchen, with ensuite bath, separate soaking tub, and private terrace. There are two rooms across the courtyard, each with two twin beds and private baths. In addition there is a king size bedroom and bath downstairs, used as a guest casita. All the bedrooms are stocked with top quality linens and towels, and soft blankets for the occasional cool evenings.

A cozy den is off the dining area, with fireplace and bookshelves. For the younger guests, you'll find a studio/ family room with large tv and game console downstairs, adjacent to the casita space. We also have a basketball hoop in the driveway, or of course, the big park (Juarez) is a very short walk as well. Wireless internet is present throughout the house.

Along with the many outdoor seating areas, there is a special rooftop terrace with a built-in fire pit and exquisite views of the western mountains and sunsets.

Silvia and Israel come three times a week to clean and garden, respectively. They are both the kindest, loveliest people and are happy to help with any additional needs.

San Miguel de Allende is always a fun, colorful place to be. The people are amazing, it's safe, and there always seems to be a fiesta of some kind happening!
