Mulberry House

A great romantic escape. Mulberry House is a completely renovated 19th-century carriage house that blends old and new. The 1880s portion, which includes the large bedroom, a luxurious bath and a fully equipped kitchen, features the original bead-board ceiling and rustic wood-plank walls.

This period section is enhanced by the new addition, a 500-sq.-ft. great room complete with crossbeams, demi-lune window and cathedral ceiling.

This spacious, light-infused room includes two comfortable seating areas, a media center, desk and a granite dining peninsula opening into the kitchen.

Guests enjoy the privacy of a large, fenced courtyard garden, a stone and brick patio and a secluded rock garden. Wrought-iron furniture, a hammock and benches facilitate outdoor dining, daydreaming and relaxation.

The grounds of the main house, which is situated in a quiet urban neighborhood, include an original gazebo, herb and flower gardens and stately old trees. Mulberry House features a blend of styles and furnishings that reflect a modern sensibility. Bamboo floors, antique and contemporary furniture, original art, Oriental rugs and whimsical folk art and crafts grace the interior. Zen basins, copper rain-chains, Japanese lanterns and a magnificent Buddhist temple bell lend a tranquil, timeless aura to the garden.

Appointments include: Bedroom with queen-size antique brass bed featuring deluxe pillow-top mattress Fold-out queen-size leather sofa for additional guests. Fully equipped kitchen Dishwasher Washer and dryer Large bathroom with glass shower and claw-foot tub Flat-screen HDTV, DVD, Cable, HBO CD player with Bose surround sound system High-speed wireless Internet.

Great for a city stay!

This is a lovely property to stay at for a visit to Nashville. I only stayed for a few nights, but this charming carriage house was the perfect retreat. It is a very easy uber ride to downtown and any restaurant or bar in Nashville you would want to go to. Doug was very welcoming. Thanks again for opening up your home!”

What A Terrific Little Gem

The Cottage at Mulberry House is a lovely and private retreat perfect for 2-4 guests. This completely renovated 19th century carriage house is filled with rustic charm. It is very conveniently located close to downtown Nashville, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be able to wind down and relax. Doug was such a generous and hospitable host who was able to accommodate a last minute request and allow us use of his beautiful home. He even provided some snacks and refreshments for my sister. Thank you so much Doug for a wonderful getaway.”
