Description

Casa Berardi | Country Home on the Costa dei Trabocchi

Set amid the peaceful countryside of Ortona, Abruzzo, this remarkable historic residence combines centuries of local heritage with a privileged setting between the Adriatic coast and the Majella mountains. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and gently rolling countryside, the property offers an authentic perspective on one of Italy’s most distinctive coastal regions.

The residence occupies a historic rural building whose present architectural character largely dates to the 18th century. Traditional stone and brick masonry, arched interiors and elements of vernacular Abruzzese architecture preserve its original identity, while terraces, gardens and shaded outdoor areas create a natural connection with the surrounding landscape. The property also holds significant historical importance as a key site during the Battle of Ortona in December 1943.

The THIRDHOME accommodation combines two adjoining units located on the first floor, offered together as one property. The first includes a double bedroom, bathroom and living/dining area with kitchen, while the second offers another double bedroom and its own private bathroom. Together, the two units provide two bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to four guests, allowing couples, friends or a small family to stay close together while retaining a degree of privacy.

A welcoming fireplace room, terraces and access to the surrounding garden and pine grove complete the setting. From here, the beaches and traditional trabocchi of the Adriatic coast, Ortona’s historic centre, local wineries and olive producers, and the dramatic landscapes of the Majella are all within easy reach.
