August 2019Travel back in Time in Venice
This historic 3rd floor palazzo is found off a quiet piazza of the same name within close waking distance to the busyness of the Rialto Bridge and Venetian markets The spacious house is comprised of six bedrooms and many sitting rooms, all with decor from the last few centuries. It feels a bit like living in a comfortable museum. The outdoor sitting area is perfect for sipping prosecco. Marcela (the Peruvian housekeeper and chef) is precious, always smiling and helpful; she does all the shopping and prepared delicious breakfast and dinners of our choosing each day. A rudimentary knowledge of either Italian or Spanish is very helpful. Riccardo (the owner) was accessible and helpful, offering numerous suggestions including much needed transportation advice (hint: splurge for the round trip water taxi) from the airport to the palazzo. For the summer months, the property is not air conditioned but fans are provided. The windows are not screened so bring insect repellant if you intend to leave them open at night. This property made us feel like Venetians in a prior century, as opposed to being tourists in a modern hotel. ”

September 2017Grand Venetian Palazzo
We had the most amazing week living in this beautiful Italian Palazzo. The decoration is exquisite and very comfortable. Ceilings and the walls are hand painted in the most Italian way. Marcella , the housekeeper is a very good cook and we could share wonderful meals at home after having the pleasure of shopping at Rialto Mercato that is three minutes walk from the Palazzo. Thanks to the family who preserves such a rare treasure. Vera Fonseca ”

April 2017A Venetian Dream
The moment we (girls' trip) stepped into this beautifully preserved 16th century palazzo, we knew we were about to experience a most extraordinary week. We were greeted by our most charming host and met Marcella, the very warm and skilled housekeeper/cook (note: she is fluent in Spanish and Italian but limited English). The property itself is a masterpiece of architecture and decor - many times we came back from a museum and wondered why we had left as we were staying in a property that was equally magnificent. Despite its grandeur, we were always made to feel at home and the furnishings in the living rooms were both beautiful and comfortable. The location is excellent - although situated on a quiet block, we were only a few minutes walk from the lively streets of Venice. Every day was memorable - so much art, such fabulous food, fine wine, music, and lovely people who are rightfully proud of Venice's history as a republic and center of culture. For a small or large group, esp. those who have an appreciation for history/art, I can not imagine a better place to stay than Palazzo Albrizzi. ”
