We loved our visit to Palmetto Bluff. It is an amazing place. Beautiful Montage Hotel, great restaurants, beautiful pools, bikes, kayacs, etc. The home was beautiful and equipped with everything we could need. The owner had kindly provided coffee and fresh cream for breakfast which eliminated a last minute trip to the store. We would recommend a dinner at the Canoe Club. The dining room is beautiful and the food is delicious. We also loved the bar food at the Montage hotel. We would also recommend the trip to Defauskie Island to see the area where Pat Conroy taught for one year. It was like stepping back in time and nice to get out on the water. The owners recommended the May River Grill for dinner in Bluffon when we left the complex and the food was wonderful. It wasn't fancy, but the food was excellent and lovingly prepared. A trip to Beaufort is a must. We hired a private guide and loved the tour. There are lots of tour companies and the houses are beautiful and historic. Palmetto Bluff is a wonderful place and everything you need is right there. We hope to return. The owners were fantastic and that made a wonderful difference in our stay. Go if you can. You won't be sorry!!”
Palmetto Bluff is beautiful and fun
We were not very familiar with this resort prior to our stay in July, 2017. By reputation, Montage resorts are typically first class, but we were not sure how it would be during July in the low country. It turned out to be spectacular...but pretty hot. The home was comfortable, well appointed and in a quiet area in the middle of Wilson village. The resort is what made it so unique. The landscapes and seascapes are truly beaufitul... spanish moss covered oak, the views of the May river and a quaint village surrounding the Inn combined to give you the best of a low country feel. I am an avid fly fisherman and my fishing buddy and I hit it big with the Red fish 30 minutes away near Hilton Head. At the resort the May River Golf Course is one of the best golf courses in an area that is known for great golf. My wife and I biked and kayaked around the property every day. Both were scenic and easy. Bottom line: this home is a wonderful get away..whether you take advantage of all the activity or just enjoy what they call "porching"....we loved it.”
