We loved the private beach!

Nice condo with great space and private beach. However, they charged us extra clean up fees for leaving dishes after breakfast and didn't tell us that we needed to clean up all our dishes.”

Convenient and cosy

We had a lovely stay in this residence. It sleeps 6 comfortably, an air mattress set up can make it 8. It is well set up with a well appointed kitchen,comfortable seating area, and fireplace. Also just outside is the hot tub and beach and a great view of the lake. Convenient to get to and from the ski areas as well. ”

A Disappointing Week

We love Tonopalo - beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, super friendly and helpful staff, and great amenities (pool, spa, fitness room, boats to take out on the lake). Under normal circumstances, we would give this a five-star rating, but a few days into our week there, they started work on the beach with a very noisy bobcat right outside our unit. Between the work they were doing and a storm blowing sand into the pool, both the pool and spa were filthy all week and couldn't be used. We couldn't use the beach because of the work and we couldn't stay in our unit during work hours because of the noise. The staff made no mention of all this work either before we arrived or once we were there. We had to keep inquiring about it. In addition, the one treadmill was not working in the fitness room, which is a small complaint, but when added to all the other disruptions, it was one more thing, so we were pretty disappointed with our week there.”

Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful amenities, CLEAN and well stocked. Even the basic small stuff; salt/pepper, sugar/sugar substitutes, spices, cooking oil even coffee! They have done a superb job over the years keeping the grounds and homes of Tonopalo up to first class standards! Last but not least THE STAFF, as always, are so kind, helpful and very available. Lovely but only sleeps 6

We had a fabulous time at Tonopolo. The condo was lovely and the staff accommodating. It would have been a 5-star stay but for the fact that the unit only sleeps six people (2 masters with Kings and a double). The unit did come with air mattresses, however, each was too large to fit in a bedroom and so the only place for it was in the living room (and they also deflated during the night). Our seventh person ended up sleeping on the couch (not a pull-out) which was less than ideal. If you have six or fewer people these units are fabulous. ”

Great Stay at Lake Tahoe!

My family has stayed at the Tonopalo twice and loved it both times. The residences are well - equipped and well positioned near Tahoe ski resorts. We'll go again, soon!”
