Casa di Luce
A stunning country home, ensconced in over twenty acres of private grounds, Casa di Luce nestles into a hill in verdant Umbrian countryside, a few minutes from the beautiful ancient hill top town of Montone.
Surrounded by lawns, olives, woods and a mountainous horizon, anyone staying at Casa di Luce will appreciate the superb views and the special sense of peace and calm.
The villa has been lovingly restored and decorated in a modern chic style that blends seamlessly with the traditional stone walls and ancient wood beamed ceilings. Special attention has been paid to indoor lighting to create an intimate, but open and airy space.
Swimming in the infinity edge pool, with a glass of wonderful Italian wine at hand, or just relaxing after a hard day of visiting idyllic local medieval villages and towns, Casa di Luce is ideal for friends and for families in search of a place of style, beauty and tranquility.
This villa is perfect for friends or families as the reception rooms are large and allow plenty of private space. The external decked area at the rear is a dream for watching those glorious sunsets. The covered loggia is perfect for barbecues and outside dining.
The ground floor has cool tiled flooring and is seamlessly open plan in the living areas. The entrance hall leads to a small office, TV/video games room, comfortable drawing room leading to the pool with a cosy fireplace for cooler evenings and a huge kitchen/dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the valley below.
On this side there is also a utility room. On the other side of the entrance hall is a double bedroom suite with separate bathroom and shower room and doors leading to the garden.
The internal staircase leads up to the first floor where there are two large bedrooms, the first has a double bed and its own shower room and toilet opposite and the second has twin beds with a bathroom with a shower and twin sinks opposite.
At the end of the corridor is the main master suite, with its own dressing room and en-suite bathroom with free standing bath and huge open shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed and no less than six windows making an exceptionally light and airy space. There is a traditional working fireplace and French doors opening onto a private seating area and the original external staircase. A spiral staircase off the dressing room leads to the tower room which offers futons for extra sleeping accommodation.
The surrounding gardens and olive grove are awash with gorgeous plants and flowers. The pool area is stunning, loungers, hammocks and so much more!
Please note the property is not equipped with air conditioning as it is not necessary due to the coolness offered by the thick traditional walls of this property. Fans are available if needed.

This house was a dream house, fabulous views of Tuscan countryside, outside of a very charming village of Montone. The house was immaculate & very well equipped. Casa de Luce was first rate from the location to the cleanliness of the place. The stone house was extraordinary & we loved the pool area and the overall comfort of the house. It was just terrific! I would definitely return there. 5 stars all the way!”
Casa di luce is set high in the hills of Umbria, near the quaint town of Montone. The house is beautifully appointed - in a modern eclectic style complimentary to the region. Kitchen was perfect for group gatherings and delicious italian meals. Bedrooms were spacious, particularly the master, but more washroom towels would be appreciated. I would highly recommend this delightful villa and the region for a most delightful week in Italy. ”
