August 2026Great views along the Niagara River
Beautifully located house with lovely views down and across the Niagara River. Watching the dawn come up from the house's balcony was a particular pleasure, as were the red cardinals, black squirrels and chipmunks in the large garden with its majestic tall trees. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. The main part of the house (very sensibly, given the views) is upstairs, with access to both a balcony and an outdoor dining area. The back garden of this home and its neighbouring large houses are open to the full sweep of the Niagara River, sloping steeply (and inaccessibly) down to its banks - giving a completely open view along the Niagara River - all of which is part of the great charm of this house and its location. ”

May 2026Best location, great visit to the area.
The house is situated right on the Niagara River, downriver from the falls, with breathtaking morning and evening outside dining views. Great location for all the local attractions, some within walking distance, and close to public transportation. We also enjoyed a small sampling of the many wineries (39!) and restaurants in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area. We had fun, short trips to Ft. Erie, St Catherines, and the Welland canal locks/ museum. The home is aging and normal maintenance issues are apparent. Currently, the home is not suitable for young children or elderly (negotiating difficult stairs required). The layout has the kitchen, dining and living areas along with two of the three accessible bedrooms upstairs. Improvements or repair to lighting, refrigerator "leveling" (so the door can be closed without worry) and cleaning details would be of immediate benefit. Host was quick to reply to inquiries and we enjoyed our stay!”
