Fantastic spacious Condos

Jimmy Johnson’s Fisherman’s Cove is an absolutely lovely complex in Key Largo and overall we had a wonderful girls’ trip. The property itself is beautifully maintained with a very nice pool area, assigned private cabanas for each condo, and a fantastic rooftop deck with gorgeous sunset views. Having Jimmy Johnson’s restaurant and bar downstairs was a huge plus — the food and drinks were great, and the live entertainment made it so nice to enjoy an evening out without needing to drive anywhere. The location is also perfect for exploring the Keys. During our stay we kayaked at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, spent a day boating out to the Islamorada sandbar, and enjoyed all the fun activities nearby. The condos themselves are spacious and well laid out, and having three bedrooms with three full bathrooms made it ideal for a group trip where everyone could have their own space and privacy. ThirdHome and the management company were responsive and professional throughout our experience, which we appreciated. That said, I do want to give future guests one important heads-up: Condo #1 is not truly waterfront like the other units. It is located in a separate building behind the restaurant and directly in front of the parking lot and dumpsters. It does not offer the same waterfront experience, wraparound porches, or beautiful water views as the condos in the main building. If you book here, I would strongly recommend confirming that your condo is in the main waterfront building. Those units appear to offer the beautiful views and overall experience most guests are likely expecting when booking Fisherman’s Cove. Overall, the complex, amenities, location, and atmosphere were excellent, and with the right unit selection it can be an amazing stay in the Keys.”

Bayside condo

Beautiful condo on the water. It was well equipped, nice furniture and beautiful views! There is music present on both sides of condo in the evenings, but we enjoyed it. They shut down early enough to not effect any sleep time. Key Largo is pretty laid back so if you're looking for a low key stay this would be it. ”

Great location on the water

We loved our stay at Fisherman’s Cove. The view was amazing, the unit we stayed in was clean and luxurious, and the kitchen was well equipped. Important for a family that prefers cooking over restaurants. Our kids loved the pool that was located on property. We wouldn’t hesitate to vacation here again. One note to be aware of, there is live music every night at the bar/restaurant below. Stops at around 10pm on weeknights, a little later on weekends. It wasn’t deafening, and it didn’t really bother us, but just wanted to let everyone know about it. We really did enjoy our stay. ”

Absolutely Phenomenal

This property recently underwent a major 5 star remodel and is absolutely gorgeous. Unit was definitely at another level! We loved the proximity to MIA airport being only an hour drive away making it a convenient travel experience. The views from the expansive balcony we’re so beautiful. The restaurant below if lively and fun. Sharon the property manager was fantastic and was quick to reply to typical quick questions. Just really enjoyed our week on the Keys. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. ”

Our time in Key Largo was great. I had two of my kids, my grandson, my brother and my mom. Since all of the bedrooms have one bed, this unit really sleeps six, and that's if everyone shares a bed. The sofa does not have a bed and other bed options are not afforded by the resort or homeowner. The resort itself has a nice pool and bar, just don't expect much. Perhaps it's my fault, but I expected this location to have more amenities and for the unit to be more updated. All that said, the owners are very accommodating, they respond quickly to any issue, and are pleasant to work with. ”

Great time in Key Largo!

We had a great time and really enjoyed our hosts property. The villa is large, quiet, and has tremendous views looking south and west to catch beautiful sunsets. There is a lively restaurant below with good entertainment. We drove 30 minutes south to Islamorada a few times to meet friends and go out on their boats and also hit Cheeka Lodge for a drink (The main entrance will not let you drive in unless staying there. Just park across the street from main entrance and walk in). Thank you hosts for making your lovely property available to us and others!”

Great for family vacation

Excellent location, beautiful water views of the bay, comfortable 3 br unit. Pool was undergoing renovation when we were there but the 5th floor rooftop terrace and spa was available and lovely. Recommend the Sundowner restaurant next door, and for those seeking a livelier time, the Big Chill downstairs was rocking.”

The unit was excellent. Everything worked and all the supplies were top notch. The views of the water were spectacular. Staff were friendly and attentive. The one drawback was the unavoidable noise from the live bands in the adjacent bar and restaurant. In our case there was added construction noise due to a roof replacement.”

Great condo, average location

The condo is spacious, well appointed,and has on site property management, all of which are excellent features. The bar/restaurant is good, the food and drinks fair but plenty of other choices nearby The problem, and it may not be a problem for everyone, is that the patch of property is not walkable to really anywhere being that it is locked in by the bay and the highway. So there’s really nowhere to go unless you get in the car and drive, or you’re into (and have) a boat. ”

Great sunset views and spacious

Sunsets from unit #5 were fabulous! Unit was spacious and bed was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on balcony and listening to music...every night (as described). Kitchen was not fancy. Don't go there to cook; faberware knives were dull, 2 scratched non-stick skillets and stainless pans. Nice full size washer dryer with soaps. It is not a "do again" for us. There was a blender for frozen drinks, but no wine opener.”

Great Stay in Key Largo

A week at Jimmy Johnson's Fisherman's Cove has served to inspire me to -plan another visit. The residence was beautiful, sitting right on the water and the Big Chill restaurant is a very happening place. Good fun, good music and friendly people. The staff there was very accommodating and we enjoyed a nice fishing trip with Captain Jake! All in all, a much needed break and a fun week. ”

This was my 2nd time visiting Key Largo and I have to say the room was spacious, well appointed and had everything needed. The service from the property was good and they are helpful with arranging activities. The location is in the "barmuda" triangle with the Caribbean Club, Sundowners and CJs on each side of the property. If you like live music or want to cut loose this is the place to do it. Do keep in mind there is a restaurant on site that gets quite busy. The Big Chill does a fantastic happy hour and the pizza was excellent. One odd thing is they don't deliver to the rooms, you have to pick up any takeout orders from the bar downstairs. The biggest issue we had was parking and crowds. There are no longer dedicated spots for the condos, if you leave the condo on a weekend there is a good chance you wont be able to get a spot when you return. There is an empty lot across US1 for overflow but crossing US1 during a busy time is like playing human frogger. The pool also gets very busy since its public and they allow smoking. I have to keep in mind we went during spring break and peak season so I assume things are more lax in the off season. ”

Very nice and spacious property

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Extremely conveniently located! Close to fishing, (Captain Jake was great) scuba diving/ snorkeling, swimming with Dolphins, feeding Tarpon, etc. We were not expecting a basement which was a bonus. Kids loved pool. Very spacious kitchen with all the necessities. Huge master bedroom. Beautiful views. Only reason for a four star rating was the noise from the night life and live bands just below. If you have a young family or like to go to bed at a decent hour, you may want to bring ear plugs... mostly on the weekends. ”

Relaxed comfort

My family of four spent a week at JJ's and loved it. The views are beautiful, pool is lovely, and good food and drink are close at hand. Unit 1 was clean, attractive, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was especially nice--better-equipped than most timeshares we've stayed in, and we cooked in it a lot. Downsides to Unit 1, specifically (the 2-level unit): bar is directly below/front of the balconies, so be ready for weekend music from 11a-10:30pm. And for power-washing each morning. It made the veranda a little less enjoyable. If you're particular, you won't want that unit. Otherwise, it was fantastic! Was great for our college-age kids to have safe/close access to a little nightlife.”

Beautiful Sunset Views

As the listing mentions, this residence is adjacent to The Big Chill restaurant which is indeed a popular spot for dining and live entertainment. Live bands do play each night so be mindful that evening "quiet time" will not be until 8:00 - 10:00 PM depending on when the band ends. The unit itself is very spacious, furnished beautifully and very clean. We cooked in almost all of the time due to the current pandemic but did find a few outdoor seafood restaurants where we could socially distance. The weather was wonderful most days so we were able to take advantage of the on site jet ski rental and parasailing next door. The only disappointment was the overall upkeep of the common areas. The spa was not operational for the first five days of our visit and the cleanliness of the elevator, pool area and pool cabanas need addressed. Appreciate the opportunity to visit Key Largo to see what the keys have to offer!”

Great Condo

The location is good with in 5 minutes of Publix and next door to the Mariott Hotel. Very nice and clean and comfortable condo with beautifull fiew over the bay side. We had a very good time. You should know that in season there is live music every night in the bar - restaurant below. This is good if you like to go there or are out for diner. When you stay at home at night it is very loud right under your outside terace. Lots of nice things to do between Key Largo and Islamorada. We will come back, Thanks, Sylviane ”

Unexpected Surprise

From the moment we walked into the door - the size of the condo took us by surprise! The space was large and open and had a fabulous view from the living room and the enormous balcony that wrapped the living room on two sides and master on two sides! We thought the restaurants, bars and entertainment beneath us would be a problem...but it was a plus! We could sit on the balcony a watch the bands; watch the grand boats cruising up for lunch; watch the people trying to learn to paddleboard, use the jet pack (amazing show), and jet ski - but, just go inside and close the doors and it was quiet!!! We had a great time. The condo has everything you need - and if you do need anything - Chris, Sharon and Stacy will take great care of you. ”
