Great week in our favorite spot on earth

We have been going to Montecristo since 2008 and it never disappoints. Houses are starting to show some wear but any service issues are quickly attended to. View is spectacular! Saw whales every single day from our private pool. I highly recommend Montecristo!!!”

MonteCristo Estates

Above the Pueblo Bonito Sunset complex, Montecristo is probably the highest point in Cabo San Lucas. Our unit was a three bedroom, two floor house with large swimming pool and large hot tub. It is excellent, very spacious and well maintained and would recommend to anyone”

Montecristo II

Once we changed to the Montecristo II homes it made for a much better stay. They are newer & better located on the property . We were initially place at the very top of the hill. These appear to be the oldest homes and the one we had for the first couple of days was very outdated and had several maintenance issues. Not to mention that drive up the hill was like riding a roller coaster. Steep!! The newer Montecristo II was very nice, but not the most luxurious stay that I’ve had when compared to some of the other third homes resorts in Cabo. Great views, nice upper and lower patios and pool. Kitchen was small for the size of the house and the decor was a little dated but still nice and fit the style of the home. Access to all the resorts within Pueblo Bonito was a plus to enjoy restaurants and the crowd if that’s your scene. Montecristo had its own lobby, gym, restaurant bar and spa which was great too if you prefer less crowds and a more intimate atmosphere. We had a car, so getting around the property was not an issue. If you don’t have your own personal vehicle you may find it difficult to move around on foot due to the terrain and hills. Waiting for shuttle vans will grow old real fast so best to have a ride while at this location. Overall it was pleasant and relaxing trip once we were relocated, but not necessarily in a hurry to return anytime soon. Many more luxury options to explore in Cabo, before making my way back here. ”

Spacious Accommodations

I can see how amazing these villas can be, the view SPECTACULAR! For our experience I would rate the accommodations 3.5 stars due to the upkeep of the unit. We were placed in phase 1 and the furnishings were very worn down. The fountain outside the front door didn’t work and attracted mosquitoes. The washer didn’t work. Overall the unit needed some TLC. However, the staff I would give 5 stars. The service was amazing. I would return, just try to request a phase 2 unit if possible. ”

We had a great time! Our villa & service were all fantastic. Yummy all inclusive plan made it super relaxing. Our favorite meals were at the Monte Cristo clubhouse restaurant. Highly recommend! We will be back! ”

MonteCristo 4 Bedroom Villa

LOVED our time here!! Favorite time spend in the infinity pool and built in hot tub. Pool is large with a wading pool area. The fourth bedroom is a separate and beautiful studio near the pool and covered patio area. In the main home the sliding doors open to bring the outdoor area in. So relaxing and beautiful. The view is not as good as other villas, sits in the lower area, but still got beautiful sunsets! Love the staff, so kind and such hard workers!”

Fabulous

The Montecristo Estate Villa was amazing. The villa had everything we needed and the staff couldn't have ben nicer or more helpful. The main pool was lovely, although very crowded. Although the villa was located so high up the mountain, we couldn't walk anywhere there was a good transportation system. All is all I would recommend it highly!”

Another Excellent Stay!

We love this resort and the amenities. The location can be a bit of a challenge without a car but we always rent one for the convenience of trips to the other resorts, to the grocery store or town. This property is perched high on the top of the ridge overlooking the entire resort area with incredible views of the ocean. The infinity pool is perfectly refreshing, and the two level layout of the home is perfectly suited for families wanting some privacy. The Market restaurant area on the way to Sunset was a big hit with our family, offering many different food choices. The smaller kids always love the kids club.”

Not recommended until work is completed

The location and views were amazing!! The house needs serious maintenance work. Exterior doors did not lock, rusted away balcony railings, exterior electrical was not operational, exterior fountain floods front door and replaced fireplace and frame were sitting in courtyard. I highly recommend this place AFTER maintenance work is completed.”

A great view of the Pacific

Quite rainy when we arrived (tropical storm Javier ); after that first day, the weather was fabulous! Truly a first class wonderful and very spacious Villa! We enjoyed the views, the hot tub,the infinity pool, to name a few things. The concierge (Edgardo?),was most informative and was always available for help (although we never needed any reservations, due to the off-season timing of our stay). Montecristo is a 5* time share resort that is the crown jewel of a much larger resort called Pueblo Bonito. Cactus car rental was perfect for us! We do recommend having a car at this property.”
