A True Oasis above Santa Ynez

Absolutely incredible stay. One of the most striking features of the ranch is it’s location, sitting atop one of the highest points in the area provided unreal views of the Santa Ynez valley below —sunsets (and sunrises) were breathtaking. Inside feels like a European villa ranch—elegant, spacious, with ample room for our group of six. The house also was well equipped with a feel of a very loved family home. Our host Kathy was wonderful and just so generous to ensure we had the full experience their home throughout our stay. The grounds and and facilities on the ranch was like having your own camp compound- we played pickleball and tennis, pool in the game room, grilled on veranda, baked pizza’s in the outside pizza oven, wandered through the gardens, and even hung out with the resident llamas! The whole place is just special. Can’t recommend it enough.”

Rancho de La Vista was Paradise

Thank you Kathy (owner) and Genaro (caretaker) for a wonderful family stay with our college aged daughters, at your beautiful Ranch & Home. We loved the views and surrounding animal life. The Alpachas were adorable and my daughters now have a new found love of fresh scrambled eggs. Kathy has her home furnished beautifully and the kitchen has so many ammenities. We ate out most of our time but enjoyed coffee outside with the ranch animals. We even saw a wild peacock. Genaro was available in the mornings and was kind and helpful. The tennis court was in perfect shape and we all enjoyed playing. My daughters took gobs of Instagram photos and even sun bathed in the lush backyard grass. The family room TV is huge and we enjoyed watching Sideways again and looking for the actors’ hang outs throughout the town. The home is a nice get away if you are visiting a UCSB student and the 40 minute drive is filled with dramatic views. Thank you Kathy for opening your home to us. ”

Fabulous hilltop home in Santa Ynez Valley

This property was perfect for our weeks’s stay. There were so many options right at the property for fun activities along with the amazing views from its hilltop location. We played morning pickleball each day. Early evening started with bocce ball while sun was setting. One night focused on outdoor eating after making our own pizzas at the wood burning pizza oven and outdoor kitchen. The alpacas were fun to watch from the backyard patio and the chickens provided us with some fresh eggs. The caretaker at the house was extremely helpful with any of our needs. We enjoyed the location with its closeness to so many wineries and also olive oil tastings and cute small surrounding towns. ”

Magic in Santa Ynez Valley

We fell in love with this house. The place is perfectly situated in the middle of wine country, just a short drive to the towns of Solvang, Santa Ynez and Los Olivos, as well 50+ wineries. The home is perched on a hill with incredible views of the Santa Ynez Valley. The house is equipped with everything you will ever need, and the owner is easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. In addition to the owner, there is also someone that works the property that can help with your every need. There are also great outdoor spaces to cook, dine and relax. I would very much recommend this house and look forward to re-visiting one day soon. ”

A Delightful Home in the Santa Ynez Valley

We couldn't have been happier with out stay at Rancho de la Vista this July. Somehow, the photos don't fully convey the spaciousness,, comfort and quality of the home. No photo can capture the vista of the Santa Ynez Valley from the back porch without experiencing it under the large oak that provides wonderful shade. During our visit there always seemed to be a cool breeze in that wonderful spot. The home's caretaker, Genaro, was available most days to help us locate a handful of things, and he was very personable. Our hostess, Kathy,, was quick to respond to text and email. When we couldn't locate a complete cocktail shaker or a citrus juicer, she had both to us the following day. We greatly enjoyed the fresh eggs and vegetables from the property. Getting out on the tennis court was fun--none of us had played in decades--but it is worth noting that the court's condition would not satisfy serious players right now (I believe resurfacing may be planned). We most definitely hope to return. Thank you, Kathy.”

Fabulous Estate in Santa Ynez!

This home is absolutely stunning!! Fabulous place to social distance yourself with 360 degree views of Santa Ynez wine country! Our kids were thrilled with the alpacas, rooster and all the space to explore. We feel lucky to have stayed in such a special place. Thanks again❤️”

Beautiful Home!

This home is beautiful and sits on top of a hill with stunning views of the rolling landscape. The ranch style home has plenty of room and the backyard is perfect for playing bocce ball, tennis or leisure walks. We cooked pizza in the outdoor wood fired pizza oven while enjoying the sunset. Relaxing by the fireplace at night and enjoying the hot tub were highlights! The alpacas were a bonus and fun attraction. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. It was the perfect place to rest, reflect and restore. With much gratitude, we say thank you for allowing us to experience your beautiful home.”

Serenity at it's finest!

There are not enough great things to say about this property! Kathy was an incredible host and left no detail to the imagination. Waking up in this beautiful home and stepping on the patio to the alpacas enjoying their breakfast provides a serenity like no other. They were such a fun part of our stay! The furnishings in this home are top notch. The views from the property are indescribably beautiful. And the town itself was such a nice break from regular life -- it feels like you've stepped into Europe when you walk through the streets of Solvang (and the food is just phenomenal). There is no shortage of entertainment or relaxation! If you're provided the opportunity to stay at Rancho De La Vista, don't let it slip away! ”
