Description

La Grande Bergerie

Enjoy a stay in this 3,000 square foot home nestled in the heart of Luberon, Provence, tucked on the side of a quiet hamlet. Situated on 13,000 square feet of land, the property opens up to vineyards and truffle oak tree rolling hills. Once a Shepherd’s stone house and barn, this secluded and private five-bedroom space was renovated into a contemporary and authentic home offering guests a true French countryside experience.

Entering on the second floor, guests can enjoy the spacious living room with seating in front of a wood burning fireplace and a dining area opening to the private terrace. The open concept kitchen offers a central island, allowing space for many guests to assist in preparing meals. The traditional French décor and natural light flood the residence, leaving a sleek and neutral look. The entertainment room with a television and comfortable sofa is located off of this area with a guest bathroom.

Also, on the main level is the large King size Master bedroom with a private bathroom featuring a claw foot bathtub, and access to the open terrace. Upstairs there are three guest bedrooms, one with a Queen size bed and two with Twin size beds. One bathroom with a shower is shared between the upstairs bedrooms.

Downstairs has a one bedroom suite with a Queen size bed. It has its own salon that opens directly to the beautiful garden.

The pool is surrounded by a lawn and olive trees where kids can play and guests can sunbathe or relax in the shade. A fully equipped summer kitchen with a gas grill making outdoor dining under the pergola convenient and inviting.

Jump on the two restored vintage bikes for a ride to get croissants or to explore the surrounding streets hidden between fields and vineyards! St Saturnin-Lès-Apt is an off-the-path village on the slope of the Mount Vaucluse offering traditional cafes and gem restaurants.

**Please note the pool is open from May 1- September 30 only**

**During the Spring and Summer months, the home will have 5 BR and 4 BA available- up to 10 guests**

A Beautifully Designed Home, excellent location

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The quality of the design is very impressive , and furniture and fittings are of a high level. Numerous areas for relaxing and dining outdoors allow everyone to find their own space. The owner was helpful and responsive, offering plenty of information on the locality. And what a wonderful location it is - in the heart of the Provençal vineyards and olive groves. The nearby small town is a gem with all necessary facilities - a beautiful restaurant, an excellent butchers, a very good market etc. And not as touristy as many Provençal towns. Thank you for sharing your home - we all have fond memories of our stay. ”

Charming farmhouse in the Luberon

For those hoping to experience the true Provence as described in books like Peter Mayle's "A Year in Provence," this house in the heart of the Luberon is the perfect place. Its location near the village of Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt offers a great home base to explore many wonderful hamlets sprinkled throughout the area. This former sheep farmhouse is roomy and comfortably furnished to provide a welcomed resting place at the end of the day to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful surrounding countryside. After a day of visiting and purchasing fresh produce at other nearby village markets, we returned home most every night to cook our dinner in the well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed relaxing and sipping wine on the terrace overlooking the peaceful yard, pool area and coutryside spread out beyond. We stayed in mid-September during the grape harvesting season, and while the lavender wasn't in bloom, it was a fabulous time to be in the region. We highly recommend a stay in this home for those hoping to experience the uniqueness of Provencial life.”

Fantastic retreat in the Heart of the Luberon

A lovely home, with lots of space and amenities. Great pool, well equipped kitchen, and a house with lots of privacy and separate areas -- all in one of the greatest parts of the world.”
