Beach Villa on Amazing Beach

This older condo location on the spectacular beach offered amazing views. (Note: it’s a 1 BR with an open loft). The host (Darrin) and his local staff (Christine and Wally) were very helpful and responsive. (We recommend you rent a car from the property manager-- she was great as was her car). The host’s boat was in need of some repairs so we did not do an excursion with his captain (Craig) -- albeit we meet him and bought his book of poetry and chatted about Island life. He was an interesting person. The condo neighbors were very friendly. The condo is basic. The Island is small and remote while you get there on a very small prop plane from Nassau. The benefits include several pristine and secluded beaches. This Island is not geared toward tourist but has a very busy marina and boaters stop for a few days. We recommend you bring some food from Nassau/US in case the "mail boat" is delayed and the small grocery stores (more like convenience stores) miss a delivery -- which happens. The few restaurants are small with several more like rustic shacks--- one is being remodeled and appears it will be more upscale. (Request grilled instead of the typical fried). Also, read up on no-see ums before you go– they can be very nasty (if a little allergic to bug bites-- they can sting and itch) and quickly give dozens of itchy bites that can take a few days to emerge. If you want to experience authentic island life-- which we did-- this is the true thing. The people are friendly and the island is a small paradise without much tourism – the polar opposite of islands like New Providence (Nassau).”

Beautiful beach front villa

This was a beautiful villa right on the beach of Great Harbour Cay. Even thou we had high winds half our stay, the views were calming. Villa is clean and well stocked with great communication”
