Chalet Chardonneret is a stunning newly extended and refurbished ski chalet in the old town of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise in the French Alps, set in grounds of 3500 square feet and with 5 bedrooms, this is the ideal home for a week away skiing in the mountains.

The rustic-style kitchen, lounge, and dining room have been crafted using traditional exposed wooden beams to form the ceilings and a modern marble for the flooring. The lounge has 2 facing brown chesterfield sofas with a low-lying wooden coffee table in between, just next to large windows and a sliding glass door which leads onto an outside balcony. On top of this, there's also a 15th-century French fireplace, all of which is at the top on the third floor to make the most of the amazing views of the valley.

There are five en-suite bedrooms. On the ground floor, one room has a superking bed that can be split into two singles if preferred, and one room has two double beds. On the first floor, there is one room with a superking and two rooms with kings. Additionally, there is a mezzanine above the living area on the third floor with a double bed. This space also serves well as a children’s play/activity area or games space.

Outside there is a balcony running the length of the living space and a large deck with a hot tub and fire pit above the garage accessed from the living level or a door from one of the bedrooms on level two.

Another benefit of this stunning alpine property is that there's a ski store and a heated boot room so after a day on the mountains drop your gear off there and you can be sure to have warm dry boots for the following morning.

Additionally, there is a therapy room, so if you want to pay to book one of the local masseurs to come and give treatments, that's also an option.

Chalet Chardonneret is luxurious and quiet but equally with some lively places to go out to eat and drink within walking distance. There is a ski bus shuttle to the Saint Foy ski station, but to get the most out of staying here, a vehicle is recommended so that you can fully explore the surrounding famous neighbours of Val D’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosier between 5 and 15 minutes drive from the chalet. The skiing opportunities are virtually endless.

Le Monal (20 minute drive) - This mountain village has a host of great bars and restaurants to choose from.
K2 Parapente (1 hour drive) - Enjoy paragliding over spectacular views!
Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise (5 minute walk) - The closest ski area (ski bus available). It's a small friendly resort that has some of the best off piste skiing in The Alps.

Places of Interest

Espace Killy (15 minute drive) - This larger and more famous neighbour has resorts such as Tignes and Val-d'Isère.
Les Arcs (40 minute drive) - Ski down to Les Arcs' extensive slopes via Villaroger.
La Rosière (20 minute drive) - Ski through here to head towards the Italian side of the mountains.

Luxury in the Alos

We stayed at the chalet with a large group of friends for our 25th wedding anniversary. Paul and TJ could not have been more helpful in assisting to organise some little extra special things for the occasion including a private Chef. The chalet is absolutely beautiful with so much Alpine charm and feels really luxury - the beds are amazingly comfortable. Some of the best we have ever slept in with very high-quality linen. It really was a special week and we cannot think the Guys enough for all of their help - highly recommend the chalet. ”
