The grounds are beautiful, the room was beautiful if a little tired...parking at the valet station and waiting for the shuttle was not pleasant. If you are a stay at the resort type of traveler you'll love this place. If you like to explore you won't. Parking is a chore. It's crowded at the resort so get to your event early if you want a seat.”

Vidanta Puerto Vallarta

While we enjoyed our stay at Vidanta in Puerto Vallarta, the sales staff was very pushy and made us very uncomfortable. We made the decision to sit in on the sales pitch and they kept us there nearly all day. They finally broke us down and convinced us to purchase a week at the property. We later changed our minds and they put us through the ringer to get out of the contract. It definitely soured the lovely stay we had at the property. ”

Lovely family getaway

Lovely, easy trip with a toddler. The 2 bedroom loft was incredible. We were in tower 5, which gave us access to the rooftop pool - super chill and convenient. The pool near tower 4 was under construction, so I was very thankful to be in 5. The 2 kids pools on property were excellent. We had babysitters come a few days and they always brought our little to the jungle club and the kids pool, so she was really happy. I wish I has requested to have the same babysitter throughout, because we had 4 different sitters on 4 days. The shuttle system was confusing at first, but by day 3 we had it down. We didn't have access to the gondola which I thought was strange, as it looked like it would have been a great, direct way to get to the beach. Getting to PV took about an hour - so we only went twice during the week, but with a toddler staying on property was easier anyway. This wasn't an epic adventure trip for us - more of a relaxing, easy trip. We'd definitely go back. ”

Grand Luxxe Two Bedroom Loft at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta

The facilities were quite nice as were the restaurants. We enjoyed our time at the property. However, there was some uncomfortable disagreement over what room we were going to have which resulted in us having to move rooms after a day. Further, there was confusion over the "Grand Luxxe Residence" as it was presented to us initially, as the "Residences" are entirely different and at a higher level. Although Third Home had informed us that we did not have to take the sales tour, we succumbed to the pressure, and wish that we had not, as we gave up a half a day of our vacation in a very uncomfortable situation. We would recommend the property as it is beautifully maintained and had a relaxing stay. We just wish that we had not gotten swayed by the minimal incentives that are offered to attend the sales talk.”

Big, fun resort with lots of option; Excellent rooms/units

Having stayed at the Vidanta in Playa del Carmen, I had high expectations for the Nuevo Vallarta resort. Expectations met. The two resorts are very similar, with some of the same restaurants and shops. The NV resort has a nicer beach, although that is not saying much. Don't come to the resort for the beach, but for the pools, rooms, food and amenities, which are excellent. It is not a boutique resort. If you want small and low key, this is not your resort. If you want high quality with lots of options (and excellent food for Mexico), then it is your resort. Quick note on the rooms. We booked two units, both in one of the Grand Luxxe towers: a three bedroom spa suite, and a two bedroom loft. In spite of the names, the two bedroom loft was a superior room, even having more square footage than the three bed. The main picture on the Third Home site is pretty accurate, except we had sliding doors to the patio, not a garage type door. The living space is amazing, with a two story ceiling. One of the most impressive resort rooms I've stayed in. My buddies (was a college reunion/50th bday guys weekend) were in awe and assumed I spent big money to reserve the rooms. I let them think that. Thanks Third Home!”

Great Stay

It was amazing! More than I expected. The view over the golf course was breath taking. Our concierges were all so very friendly. Check-in was a little slow, but well worth the wait. Our Loft was beautiful and having the outdoor patio to relax on every morning and evening was wonderful. The maid service was very accommodating. and friendly. Food: OMG the food was amazing everywhere we ate. Pools: were all beautiful with full bars at all of them. The entertainment was to perfection. I enjoyed every single minute of every night we went to the Santuario. The walks thru the resort were just beautiful. Everything was so well taken care of. ”

Grand Luxxe is truly a 5 star property with massive grounds, pools, restaurants and beach. The suite was very comfortable and service good. As others have mentioned when the resort is busy it takes some time to get a golf cart ride but how nice to have a golf cart ride to get around. I look forward to returning. ”

Nice staff, beautiful room, isolated by 45 and surrounded with crocs

These rooms in grand luxe are very nice...think very nice Vegas suites - gigantic patios. Get a room with view to estuary and watch the crocs each evening. Great bird watching on that side of building as well- we saw 3 times the rare pink Roseat spoonbill. Other side of building has view to construction and dried lake (we changed rooms due to a/c issue). This is a mega resort, and as much as you may avoid mingling with others, you will be forced to ride the golf carts and wait in valet lines to enter and exit property (5 min wait, 10 min cart ride, 5 min wait at valet, + 10 drive to exit). Makes for nearly and hour trek into puerto Vallarta. ”

PV Getaway at Nuevo Vallarta

This is a huge property yet in many areas still small quiet corners. The room was spectacular. For a large property the staff and service was excellent. Great staff at every level from check in to concierges everywhere, drivers, operator,pool staff. All 5 star services. Even sales pitch was tolerable! Restaurants good food. I am a very picky world traveler and this was actually a good experience ”

Massive Property

The accommodations were large and beautiful, though the furniture was torn in places and showing wear and tear. The property is massive, with several different hotels and easily over 30 different restaurants, with golf cart shuttle routes that can take you throughout the property. They have done a fantastic job of maintaining a gorgeous resort, with lush vegetation all around. If you plan to stay onsite and never leave the property, it would be a fabulous place to stay. Most staff members we encountered were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Some were pushy and actually a tad rude at times because we were not interested in the sales presentation. We found the process for leaving the property to be very long and frustrating so if you love to get out and about and explore local towns and restaurants, I would not recommend this property. ”

Probably not the beach vacation your thinking of

The property is massive and getting out is the equivalent of a prison break. The tram service is atrocious! It's easier to take the NYC subway than get anywhere on property, so be prepared to hike. The roof top pool is off limits to third home guests as is the estates pool and the main pool at the Grand Luxx is under construction, so if you're looking for a pool with an ocean view/breeze, you're stuck at the main pool which is about a 20 min walk and impossible to get a chair. The timeshare sales folks lay it on think, then change the deal and will try to keep your deposit. All in all it's functional, but hard to call it a beach vacation given all the hurdles to get to the actual beach.”

5 Star Luxury & Gorgeous Accommodations

We spent a week with our friends at the Grand Luxxe - Tower IV. They fully enjoyed all of the pools, the Quinto restaurant, the swim up bars and relaxation. We loved the lazy river and wave pools too. Definitely go to the shows at night. They are really good and very entertaining. The concierge in Tower IV was always courteous and helpful. She scheduled massages and dinner reservations for us. I feel that her service was exceptional. In fact, all the service you receive around the massive property wont disappoint. Everyone is focused on making sure they make your vacation the best it can be. ”

The room was amazing and exactly as described. It was fully stocked with all of the tools/essentials needed for a great stay. We had a concierge for our floor who was very attentive. The resort is very nice and well maintained and we really appreciated the golf cart shuttle services/taxis which aided in transportation. The entertainment and food was exceptional as well. Will certainly recommend to anyone and will be returning again!! ”

Beautiful property

Loved the resort, loved the two bdrm villa! Didn't like how far from town it was. Also DO NOT do the timeshare presentation. They pitch it as a free breakfast and a quick 60 min orientation of the property - which seems like a good a idea since it is a huge resort. But it turns into a full-blown timeshare presentation and when you say no they don't let go. They switch you to several different people and it's a horrible experience once you say good bye to your friendly initial sales rep.”

Spring break in Grand Luxury

Our family of four spent a fantastic week in luxury at Vidanta. Highly recommend. Description and pictures doesn't do this resort justice. Clean, beautiful, and safe. Covid testing process was easy and fast. We did not venture off the resort because we focused on being pool and beachside throughout our stay, however, concierge service can pretty much accomodate any requests and were very attentive. Absolutely stunning views. The 2 story loft/condo was perfect and all of the walking paths and bridges explored throughout the resort were daily highlights. All the pools and restaurants were open and the food was excellent. Cannot wait until next year! ”

Hats off to Vidanta and Grand Luxxe. Everything you would expect in a 5 star property. The covid protocols were exceptional; felt safer here than at home. Felt sorry for the staff; they wore their masks at all times, even when serving drinks while we are tanning. I'll be back !!”

Lovely suite but concerned about COVID measures

The two bedroom loft unit that we stayed in was fabulous however we did have a few issues. The dishwasher didn't work properly. They sent maintenance in twice and told us that they would be replacing the dishwasher that day or the next morning but it never did happen. There was a problem with the dryer which was fixed very quickly. When we checked in we had to sign an agreement stating that we would wear masks any time that we were outside our unit however as we moved about the resort we found that probably less than 10% of the guests were wearing masks which was definitely a concern! We agreed to go to the sale presentation breakfast provided that masks were worn and social distancing was observed. The sales rep assigned to us did not have his mask covering his nose and mouth and despite asking him to put it on properly he didn't do it. On the way to the breakfast we were passed by two other sales reps who did not have masks. At that point we decided to cancel and return to our suite. The resort website talks a lot about the safety precautions that they are taking but there was no enforcement on site. As a result we ate all of our meals in our suite and did not venture out to any of the pools. It was a little disappointing. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and found the staff to be friendly and helpful.”
