Description

Château Terre Blanche

Among the Medieval Bastide village of Chalabre, lies the stunning, newly renovated, Château Terre Blanche, designed by renowned Australian Interior Designer, Beverley Gibson. This estate is the perfect location to bring close friends and family to be pampered like royalty, no matter what time of year. Located among the foothills of the Pyrenees, lush greenery surrounds the property for miles and miles. Chalabre is just down the road, with a population of 1600 welcoming locals to bring you the fullest experience during your stay. With community unity and a stunning and rich culture, you will be sure to get the most of your time in this French countryside estate.

Château Terre Blanche is breathtaking from the moment you walk up to the home. The exterior greets you with old world medieval charm and impeccable landscaping on an expansive, perfectly manicured lawn. You will be greeted by parterre gardens while you make your way inside the home. From here, you will be greeted by multiple living areas offering you optimal luxury and space to relax and unwind.

The first, and perhaps most striking living area is the impressive Grand Salon with high, hardwood ceilings, and plush leather couches. The Baroque hand-carved wooden fireplace is the remarkable center piece of the room where all can gather and enjoy conversation or a glass of fine local wine. This impressive room looks outside through delicately crafted hardwood doors.

Another dignified sitting room that the Château offers is the library with fireplace, flat screen TV, and comfortable couches and arm chairs. The tones are soft and inviting, making it the perfect room to curl up by the fire and read a good book. Hardwood floors lie throughout the space, and natural sunlight peaks through the windows providing plenty of light and warmth.

The Blue Salon is another comfortable and spacious sitting room for everyone to spend some time together. This room has soft blue walls, with white and beige décor and furnishings throughout. The high ceilings and walls with gold accents make the space feel luxurious, while still welcoming all who come to relax and make memories.

The chef’s kitchen is modern and spacious. This kitchen will not only provide the utmost luxury and convenience, but the perfect place for all to come together and make family memories while cooking up a large feast for all to enjoy. With two ovens, a 1 x 90 gas stove, basic pantry items, and utensils, you will have everything you need to make a memorable meal.

When everyone is ready to sit down for a fine meal, make your way into the grand dining room. This space is stunning with high white ceilings and walls with windows and a glass door with black metal accents lining the space. The room is bright and welcoming. It is truly the perfect setting to gather around with everyone, have a meal, great conversation and still have the breathtaking scenery right outside.

The Château has five well-appointed over-sized bedrooms and a 2 bedroom suite accommodating 12 or more people. Each bedroom welcomes you with high ceilings and originally crafted fireplaces for warmth and comfort. The rooms have been renovated while still boasting a medieval feel. Two of the bedrooms include king-size beds. Another two bedrooms include 2 single beds that can be converted to a king bed. The fifth bedroom suite includes a double bedroom and large second bedroom with 2 single beds with a seating lounge. The beds are all topped with microcloud technology. For added privacy, draw the silk and velvet drapes for a good night’s sleep.

Each of the en-suite bathrooms have the most modern appliances and spacious walk-in showers. Some have bathtubs for optimal relaxation. They include fluffy bathrobes, hairdryers, and a locally produced collection of toiletries.

When you are looking to stay active, you'll enjoy the home gym with a treadmill, stationary bike, and meditation space. As you run or bike, you can still look out over the property. You will also enjoy getting some laps in the pristine swimming pool on the back patio. This space offers plenty of lounge seating with umbrellas so it's the perfect place for an afternoon nap after a good workout.

The village of Chalabre offers plenty to see and do.
Aside from the amazing, old world sightseeing, wine tasting, and cultural education, Chalabre holds a small medieval music festival, with summer displays of the art of medieval warfare put on by a local association up at the large Château of Chalabre. You are also a short distance from multiple medieval villages, each boasting their own unique history. You will be immersed in culture, hospitality, and luxury at Château Terre Blanche, and have the trip of a lifetime!
