Invergare Castle
The house is of a Scots Baronial style and there are many beautiful period features from marble fireplaces in the drawing-room to some of the largest bathtubs you will ever see! Invergare was built in 1855 by the architect, James Smith, and it was originally called Rowalyn.
This magnificent 10225 square feet Castle has got 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. That means more than enough space and comfort for the entire family even when at its 20 people maximum occupancy has been reached.
Invergare is a history class, but don't let it trick you. The whole property has been renovated and brings guests a nicely done mix of original features and contemporary appliances. The hallway, with its high ceiling, brings a lot of light and connects the floors and rooms with a staircase surrounded by pillars and arches that give you a perfect understanding of what has made this home famous for centuries. On the other hand, the kitchen, for example, is an attraction on its own. Modern, bright and spacious, fitted with all the appliances to help you make the best of your stay. Having a cup of tea, seating on the window-seat in the morning is strongly advised.
The house is perfect for a luxurious stay while you visit the vast and varied delights of the local area, play some golf, explore Loch Lomond or make a day trip to the Highlands and beyond. Situated at the start of the highland train line it's possible to take day trips to Oban and Fort William or if you fancy, day trips to Glasgow or Edinburgh by train.
The scenery around this part of Scotland is breathtaking and it is just over an hour form Inveraray. For keen hill-walkers, Ben Lomond is a short car journey away. There are literally hundreds of walks within this area, along with the Highland Way and the John Muir Way. All information is provided within the house.
Invergare Castle is a fabulous house for children, with extensive gardens in a friendly and safe community. So much fun for all the family..
