Behind massive foliage on the west side of Camino del Mar is perched a distinctive contemporary estate with 270 degree unobstructed ocean views. Located next to a Conde Nast luxury resort and spa, the L’Auberge del Mar, L’Auberge del Norte estate is just two blocks from Del Mar beaches and the famous 15th Street surf break. The Estate is walking distance to the Del Mar Racetrack, restaurants and shopping.
It is comprised of four buildings, three of which are connected by glass bridges. The 4 bedroom suites, with a convertible exercise/yoga room, have ocean views, flat screen oversized TV’s, private baths and outdoor seating areas.
The master bedroom has complete privacy, unobstructed white-water views, an ocean facing balcony with double chaise lounge and an intimate Jacuzzi on its rear facing private balcony.
The large master shower has multiple shower heads and has the same white-water views with a window that opens allowing fresh ocean breezes to circulate throughout the bath area. The lower level of the master suite features a six-person dry sauna, a separate steam shower/sauna, a yoga/exercise room. The yoga room also has a full bathroom, cedar closet, and can easily convert into an additional private bedroom if desired.
The main living area has an open floor plan with soaring glass windows and ocean views from the living room, sitting room, kitchen, bridges and entry. There is a Sonos sound system inside and outside. The balcony off the kitchen and living room is furnished with a Porsche designed BBQ, large dining table with seating for 14 and is perched over the Del Mar Beach Colony and white-water beach breaks but remains amazingly private. Breathtaking sunsets, sounds of crashing waves, pool, jacuzzis, a gas fireplace, flat screen entertainment center with HD digital cable and a two-story atrium with oversized casual lounging and pool table and abundant parking all add to the experience at L'Auberge del Norte.
The gourmet kitchen has both center island seating for 8 and table seating for 10, It is equipped with double 30” BlueStar oven with six burner range, griddle & open broiler, subzero refrigerator and an abundance of small appliances including a Vitamix blender and kitchenware needed to prepare and serve gourmet meals.
The exterior of the property offers multiple options for entertaining, relaxation and recreation. Surrounding the pool are 4 single and 2 double chaises, both shaded and sunlit, additional dining table and seating and a large grassy area for having a catch, playing bocce ball, or setting up tables for a larger gathering. FYI... there is no longer a shade structure over the jacuzzi as shown in the photo of the pool.
There is also a covered sitting area on the lower level outside the guest bedrooms furnished with Gustav Rooth award winning wine barrel chairs and tables. A separate gated service entrance and parking are perfect for catered entertaining.
A two car garage and a separate laundry room are contained in the building across the second bridge. The glass walls and ceilings, combined with the landscaped perimeter provides a feeling of space unprecedented in the village of Del Mar.
1. This house is not safe for children under 5 or children who are not water-safe, therefore they shall not be allowed.
2. The house is currently listed for sale. If a house showing to a qualified buyer is requested by the real estate agent, guest agrees to provide access with 24hour notice and will leave the house tidy and put their valuables in a secure location. A gift card in the amount of $100 will be provided to the guest for the showing accommodation.

* In our continuing efforts to try and minimize our impact on the environment, we encourage you to use the utilities with conservation in mind. We take meter readings when you arrive and again when you leave. We provide a complimentary allowance of $250 USD for gas, electricity and water/sewer combined for the week. If during your stay, the utility costs exceed this amount, we require you to pay for the excess usage based on current billing rates from the utilities.
