At 8 km from the town of Amalfi, Villa Riccio is the perfect place to experience the ‘Dolce Vita’ along Italy's most beautiful stretch of coast. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Amalfi Coast is a marvelous example of a Mediterranean landscape famous worldwide for its extraordinary natural and cultural value.

Magically suspended 1150 feet (350 meters) above sea level, between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, Villa Riccio is an elegant 1940 sq. ft. (180m2) property decorated with flowers, bright colors, and immaculate white walls. From the flower-filled terrace - the perfect place to enjoy a glass of local wine to pair with a delicious evening barbecue - guests will be enchanted by the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast, which seem to be born from the palette of a painter.

The Villa is accessible by a wide stair (namely Salita San Giacomo) from the main road. There are 50 steps to reach the house. Passing the gate of the property from the stair, a beautiful pathway under a pergola of vineyard gives access to the main terrace and entrance to the house.

Open the door and step inside this pet-friendly property, and experience the authentic Amalfi feel within this exclusive villa that follows the physiography of the mountain, with rocks from the mountain incorporated in a few walls.
The property is furnished with traditional furniture, and boasts terracotta tiled floor that connects the fully-equipped kitchen to the living room and the dining room with a hand made wooden table that can accommodate up to 8 guests. The kitchen also has direct access to its own terrace where you can enjoy the view on the sea. On chilly evenings, guests can enjoy the fireplace which creates a feeling of home.

With plenty of creature comforts, Villa Riccio sleeps up to 6 guests and from the living room the staircase leads to the upper floor, specifically to the main bedroom that is provided with a double size bed and offers beautiful views over the sea. This room shares the main bathroom with the children bedroom, which is equipped with a bunk bed, a single bed and a small library. Also located on the upper floor, the guestroom boasts 2 single beds and its own bathroom, two terraces and also has direct access from the ground floor by a separate staircase.

The land surrounding the house is terraced according to the local farming tradition and cultivated providing a variety of seasonal vegetables. There are also a number of fruits trees (figs, lemons, pears, apricots, olives, prunes and walnut). All the products are available to the guests of our Villa.

A few hundreds of meters from the Villa is a family run restaurant and a well provided grocery store. Also, the same staircase that brings you up from the road to the Villa will also bring you further up to one of the most famous winery on the Amalfi coast.

Nestled in the rocky cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, Villa Riccio is the perfect spot for discovering the diversity the region has to offer, as each of the places of the coast has its own character and traditions, and hiking lovers will enjoy a large variety of trails from Furore to Positano or down to Amalfi on old pathways. While the city of Positano is situated 45 minutes away from the property, other beautiful towns of Campania and Amalfi Coast are located not far from the property: Praiano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Maiori, and Naples!

Scenic, chic, and romantic, Positano is the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, where guests will enjoy to stroll and shop in the streets that lead up to the hill, and to bask on the Spiaggia Grande beach, at the base of the colorful village. You can discover the coast by road or the boat would drop you at several beaches and towns. From Amalfi, guests wishing to discover the wonders of the region can take part in a day trip to Capri, for an unforgettable sail marked by island warmth and unexpected surprises! Once on the island paradise, guests can take a cable car to move around Capri, famous for its clear blue waters, gorgeous landscapes, great shopping and restaurants. Guests will not miss to visit Villa San Michele, a life’s work of the Swedish physician Axel Munthe, whose impressive garden won the price as Italy’s most beautiful private park.

Originally built by the Romans, the Amalfi Drive along the coast will naturally lead guests to the largest town along the coast, Amalfi. With high precipices and a background of picturesque hillside houses, the town is renowned for its good cuisine, especially seafood, and its limoncello, a local liqueur made of lemons.

A 45 minute drive from Villa Riccio, guests with passion for history will have the unique opportunity to visit the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was completely buried in volcanic ash following the eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. A walk through the preserved streets, squares, temples, baths, public buildings, private villas, and shops of the World Heritage site is a magical journey back to ancient times.

After a 35 minute drive from Pompeii, guests can climb Mount Vesuvius and walk the suggestive path that leads to them up the Gran Cono, the internal crater, from which guests will admire the most beautiful sight on the Gulf of Naples, and taste the Lacryma Christi, a wine produced and born in the shadow of the volcano. Down the slopes, guests can visit the third largest city in Italy, Naples, that boasts a unique combination of coastal beauty, Renaissance finery, Roman remains and foodie favourites. Stroll the Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the finest public spaces in Italy, and lose yourself in the narrow streets in the city center, especially Via San Gregorio Armeno at Christmas time, as the street boasts endless stands selling the traditional ‘Presepe’ (Nativity Scene). Naples is also home to the best pizza in the world, at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, where a scene in the film Eat Pray Love shows Julia Roberts inside the iconic restaurant, blissfully scarfing down a slice.
