September 2023All as Advertised!
What an amazing spot! We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at the Villa Riccio. The front patio was perfect for a shady breakfast in the heat of the waning summer sun, and the deck off the kitchen was perfect for cocktails and games in the evening. The deck off the second bedroom provided the perfect spot for photographing sunrises a la Sugimoto. The views were astonishing with the horizon often blurred from sea to sky. The garden was beautiful and abundant. So many grapes! One night I picked tomatoes, eggplant and thyme, added garlic, onion, fennel, fresh basil and fresh parmesan from the San Michele mini-market some steps down, and threw it all together over the famous nearly local Garganelli pasta. Along with wine from Marisa Cuomo, the renowned vineyard steps above us, we enjoyed a fantastic local home-made Furore meal. Then fresh figs from the garden for dessert. If cooking isn't your thing, don't miss the six course seafood meal and wine pairing at BiancaZita in San Michele near the market. The kitchen is a wonderful place to cook with everything one would need. Wireless speakers available for your music, and good wifi. The decor is comfortable country Italian, with a toss of Pierre Deux as you can see in the pictures. Great place for a couple or family. Stairs are a way of life in Furore, both inside and out, so exercise before coming! And enjoy every moment!”

September 2022Charming and Authentic Villa!
What a wonderful stay this was for us! Although Villa Riccio is spacious and has 3 bedrooms, it was just my husband and myself. The property grounds are expansive and views breathtaking and the photos don't capture what you see in person. When you walk down the path leading to the entrance the sweet smells of countryside embrace you. We love to go out to eat but when we would return after a day of exploring half the time we decided to stay in and cook in the fully stocked and modern kitchen, open up a bottle of local wine and watch the sunset. From the garden we harvested and ate tomatoes, figs, green peppers, basil and so much more. It was very clean and the hosts were very responsive and informative about anything local (and not so local) as we took their advice and stopped at a vineyard at the base of Vesuvius for a wine/lunch pairing the day before our flight home. The villa sits up on the hill and takes about 15 min up from the main Amalfi Dr. As mentioned steps are involved up and within the villa. There is a little market and restaurant within walking distance for all your basic needs. We would certainly recommend this stay to anyone looking for the true authentic charm of the Amalfi region! Happy Travels! ”
