The unit we stayed in had been newly remodeled which was a pleasant surprise. The unit also had a kitchenette which allowed us to cook breakfast in unit which was helpful and convenient. Beautiful property

This resort has spacious suites with beautiful views over the ocean. Service was great and the rooms comfortable and clean. Large balconies to enjoy the outdoor space. Pool areas were nice and the gardens are great. The only negatives are the coffee shop is a complete rip off (ie. 13 for a black coffee with no prices posted), $18 for a sausage/cheese "mcmuffin". The food is not great in any of the restaurants except Sails, which is surprising for a Ritz. Sails was great. But recommend going across the street to Caribbean Fish market for dinner instead of any of the Ritz dinner places.”

Renovated & Well Located Resort Stay

This has to be one of strongest ThirdHome hotel/resort redemptions if done correctly. We had a very room 2 bedroom suite with 4 balconies. It was freshly renovated with full refrigerator and a large master and a hotel style second room with 2 queen beds and balcony with amazing view plus large kitchen and den. Our unit was well located and close to Club amenties but a short stroll to the resort side which we used as well. The pictures look nothing like what is actually now the RC Club. We had a great 6 night (couldn't use our last night) stay including a private charter to Jost van Dyke and day trip to Trunk Bay/St John. Also, the service and food was excellent - much better than expected. Highly recommend. ”

Perfect for relaxation

With two toddlers St Thomas Ritz was perfect! We used all of the different pools and are at all of the restaurants. The beaches are beautiful and the waves are a nice size for littles. The service and cleaning were above expectations. Our view was breathtaking! ”

Traveling around island with large party gets VERY expensive (by the head) whether ride is long or short. But love the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas and it's a place I'd return to.”

Loved it! Quiet resort

We really enjoyed our stay. The two bedroom suite was large and comfortable. We enjoyed the dining and drink options between the residence and hotel side. The beach on the residence side is small, but was really beautiful with shaded areas underneath the trees. There’s the option to go over to the hotel side, which has a larger beach and more amenities, but we really enjoyed the quiet residence side more. It is a bit of a distance to get into the main town by taxi 20 to 30 minutes for other restaurants and activities, but the taxis are readily available within a few minutes of calling them. We loved it and will definitely go again!”

We have visited The Ritz-Carlton Club at St. Thomas on a few different times. Each time, we have throughly enjoyed our stay. The units are always clean, comfortable and elegantly appointed! The views are nothing short of breath taking! The property amenities and grounds are so wonderful. Everything is well maintained and cared for. This trip was with our son, his wife and their baby girl. We all completely enjoyed our visit. Thank you.”

Beautiful accomodations

I really enjoyed my stay at the resort. The two bedroom suite was spacious and luxurious with a gorgeous ocean view. The unit included twice a day maid service, was immaculate and well equipped with kitchen essentials. The suite is ocean front and has a good beach for swimming. It's not large and there is a fair amount of sea grass, but the setting is very convenient with numerous lounge chairs, towels, a beachside restaurant, and is steps from two pools and hot tubs. The location of the hotel is good. There is good access to a neighboring town, ferry service and beautiful local beaches. The only drawbacks to my visit were that it was quite warm and the adjacent Ritz Carleton hotel reduced services available like the spa, restaurants and recreational services during my visit because the hotel was bought out by a company for a large conference for a week. ”

July in St Thomas

It’s (obviously) their slow season now, and we had no trouble finding beach chairs. We walked over to the beach area in front of the hotel section each day. Food is, as many have mentioned, very expensive and nothing off-property is walkable. Staff was very responsive & friendly, although the folks managing the Hobie Cats on-site were not very accommodating. Our 2BR suite was huge & clean.”

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was very nice and always made sure to help in any way possible- the beach had the seaweed growth that a crew would try and remove everyday so the beach wasn’t super usable but we spent most of the time at the pool and then went to St John’s for a couple of days. Food is very expensive everywhere you go so just plan on it:) We stopped at the grocery store on our way in and bought breakfast foods, snacks and drinks which made it a little better- All in all we would go back for sure! ”

Nice Place but Beach Issues

For a few months in the summer there is a terrible algae problem that prohibits use of the beach and causes a terrible smell. Restaurants are not that good for a Ritz. Food and drink prices are ridiculous.”

Nice stay

Wonderful stay. Be advised that covid has some restrictions. Mainly there is no housekeeping. Only one restaurant is open and pool staff is minimum. Beach snorkel and water activities is $75 per room per day but optional. Residences are very nice but not as luxurious as the hotel. You can use the hotel pool and gym. Five stars! ”

Beautiful place to stay

Wonderful place. Condo was clean, bright, comfortable. A few steps from the beach, multiple pools, hot tubs, and casual bar/restaurant within the Destination Club. We also had access to the amenities of the hotel next door (three additional restaurants, pool, catamaran for sunset sail, etc.) Very good check-in/concierge services as well. Red Hook bars and restaurants a short taxi ride away, as well as the ferry to St. John. We will definitely be back!”

St.Thomas Ritz Carlton

This property is one of the nicest locations on St.Thomas. It's cove is protected, easy for all ages to enjoy the beach, (what is left of it after the last hurricanes). Well run, quiet, staff is at your service when needed. The property was everything you would hope for. Red Hook has great restaurants just 7 minutes away. The Big Red ferry is fun, take your car, very easy to go to St.Johns beautiful beaches and parks. The negative was our room location, ground floor, very dark, very little water view. The Ritz was not able to move us. We had great weather and was not going to let the room get in the way of a wonderful time. ”

Nice Resort, a little disappointed as it could have been better

Overall the resort is nice, the 2 bedroom unit was adequate for 4 adults and 2 small children, if older kids, the space may feel a little cramped. Be sure you complete your due diligence to be fully informed about the resort, not only the progress of the resort and the amenities, but use and access to the existing beach and the water at the Club. Find out now before you go; do a simple Google search or make a call. When we arrived, the beach was inundated with Sargassum Seaweed, to the extreme where you could not access the water from the beach, at times, the seaweed was 6 to 8 INCHES Thick and 4 to 6 FEET in Depth and smells like rotten eggs (I would love to share some photos if I could), I would not recommend swimming, walking or wadding through this. This vast amount of seaweed limits you to the use of the pool only. The beach at the Ritz Carlton Hotel next door is in much better shape; unfortunately it is closed until the hotel re-opens hopefully in a few months, but it is nicer and in much better condition than the Club. For us, the inability to use the beach required us to leave the resort each day to visit other beaches in St Thomas and St John; something we were not anticipating doing as much as we did, initially we were only planning a 1 day snorkel trip that left from the Club. We prefer the beach, not the pool; which is a big negative for us as it defeats the purpose of going on a beach vacation, especially in the summertime when we have a nice pool here in the backyard. The St. John beaches are beautiful, worth the trip. If you simply enjoy relaxing and lounging by the pool, then you may be content. The people all around are very friendly. Recovery from the 2 Major Hurricanes of 2017 is still moving along nicely; just depends on where you go. Final note on the seaweed, when we were leaving, the Club did finally bring in some new equipment to aid in the removal of the seaweed, but unfortunately for us, it was too late.”

Classy Beautiful Resort

Property was very clean and well maintained. It was nice to be able to use the owners pool and hotel pool. People were friendly and helpful. Rooms were huge and decorated nicely. Views were amazing. Could use more nightlife activities. Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation.”

Very enjoyable trip

We had a very nice week at our two bedroom condo. The unit was nice but definitely a resort-type layout in that the living room and kitchen were both small and the utensils provided are just the basics. That said, the bedroom and patio were quite spacious which is where people spend their time anyway. The residence side of the property was nicer than the hotel side (in our opinion) and much quieter too. I could see finding a chair on the hotel side tough but it wasn't an issue on the owner side. The food was only mediocre yet still at Ritz prices so we often took taxis into Red Hook and just found places there. That was enjoyable but cost $40 RT so plan on spending money on cabs. It's just the way the VIrgin Islands are (same on St. John) and we had no issue with it. We really liked the location and preferred going into Red Hook vs the larger town of Charlotte Amalie. Much quainter and easy to navigate. Overall, it was a solid unit and we liked it a lot. Workout facility was nice as was Zest, their coffee/yogurt shop. Had Lattees each morning. Thx for sharing with our family and we hope to return some day. ”

Wonderful resort and fantastic staff

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz Carlton. The service was exemplary. Everyone at the reception desk went out of their way to make our stay special. The food was great--we were more than satisfied with all the meals at all the restaurants--especially the breakfasts. The apartment was lovely. Large rooms and balconies. The kitchen was fully supplied. The cleaning crew came twice a day and each time the place was immaculate and all of the crew went out of their way to ensure that we had everything that we needed. There was only one problem -- the air conditioning. It didn't matter how we tried to adjust the settings it was always extremely cold or no air conditioning at all. We called a few times to request adjustments and they were very nice but unable to fix the issue. Wonderful facility, fantastic staff, and memorable vacation.”

Everything You Would Expect

This property has a very similar look and feel to other Ritz-Carlton properties across the world. The service, views, and lush landscaping throughout the property were all fantastic. Comfortable elegance

We stayed in this property during the week of Christmas, 2015. The property is elegant, clean, and updated. The staff is friendly and attentive. The unit is WONDERFUL. We were told that it is the nicest unit in the whole property, and have no reason to doubt this. Located on the top floor, it has high ceilings, and two large balconies overlooking the bay/ocean. We were able to use the facilities at the adjacent RC hotel, including daily use (for a fee) of all the waterspouts including snorkeling and sailing. This is a great place to spend your week.”

The staff treated us wonderfully, and everything was first rate. We went sailing and saw sea turtles, snorkeled, swam, and generally had a very full week. Food is probably 2-3x what you'd expect to pay in the states, but it was all delicious. Bring a sweater for the room though - its heavily air conditioned. ”
