Getaway to a quiet and remote retreat with breathtaking views on the eastern shore of Hood Canal. This newly built Cape Cod Saltbox beach house offers five bedrooms and four bathrooms between the main house and guest house and rests on a one-and-a-half-acre landscaped property with 150 feet of low bank waterfront. Beachfront native grasses and wildflowers frame the 3000 square foot residence, which was featured in the October 2013 issue of Coastal Living Magazine and the Seattle Times Pacific Magazine in the fall of 2014.

Wall-to-wall windows pour natural light into the great room, which flaunts an 18th-century French limestone fireplace, oyster-toned linen sofas, and custom marble and steel coffee tables. Reclaimed Douglas fir plank flooring leads into the kitchen featuring high-end appliances and custom steel and hides stools at the peninsula. A stunning blown glass “kelp drop” chandelier hangs above the table, where you can dine with uninterrupted views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains range.

Take your pick of three guest rooms, each with queen beds, beautiful textiles, northwest Indian art, and plenty of storage space. The upstairs room comes with a view of the beach, so you can wake up to see herons and eagles as you sip your morning coffee. The upstairs sleeping loft offers four comfortable twin beds, each with its own reading light, storage bin drawer, and privacy curtain, creating cozy nooks for children and adults alike! This space also includes a reading corner equipped with a linen couch, chair, and ottoman, as well as an elm slab and steel coffee table and a Mohair throw blanket for warmth. You can expect to find various luxuries such as a rain head shower, pebble flooring with radiant heat, a separate toilet room, and an 18th-century limestone sink among three bathrooms. The separate guest house has its own porch, a full bathroom with a shower, and sleeps up to two people on a queen-sized linen hideaway sofa.

The house faces west, so sunsets are a spectacular sight! The north side is flanked by a salmon-bearing creek that hosts a Chum and Silver Salmon run every fall. Prized and sought-after Hood Canal Pacific oysters can be picked right off the beach, just steps away from the house. Enjoy them on the outdoor handcrafted yellow cedar table with a fine wine, sliced lemon, and vinaigrette.

For beach time fun, enjoy a swim raft, paddle boat, kayak, and inner tubes. Rinse off under the outdoor shower before a game at the horseshoe pit, and wind down by the firepit at night. The town of Seabeck is 12 miles away, where there is a cafe, store, espresso stand, and pizza joint.
