June 2022Wonderful trip and experience, one of our favorite trips and area to visit
We had absolutely no idea what to expect, and we could not have been happier with our trip to the St Tropez area. We somehow missed reviewing this home last year, but we wanted to share what a wonderful time we did have. This house is fantastic. However, it is important to note this home is off a very small dirt road and a bit hard to find, and might be a little intimidating for some, and not for everyone, due to its remoteness. It is about a 5 minute dirt road ride to the main road (with few lights in the dark), but where we could then easily get to many beach clubs only several more minutes away. To note, the beach clubs are really in Ramatuelle, not St. Tropez as most people may think. Downtown St. Tropez is another 15 minutes into the heart of it where shops etc are, and the harbor. We were pleasantly surprised by it being a bit out of the town since it was nice to get away from the crowds in summer. Yes, it gets very crowded. Please either rent a car (and figure out where to park in the few structures) or hire a driver if you go, as I do not think an uber could ever find this home, or find parking on the street. Some places offered valet parking though. Since the home is in Ramatuelle, if you head the other direction from St. Tropez, you will find a medieval town perched at the top of the hill only another 15 minutes away, and then another 10 minutes further, still another medieval town. There were also many rose wineries in this area to our surprise. So, we loved this location which felt like we were in the countryside, yet there was everything and so much variety within just 20 minutes including beaches. St Tropez has absolutely fabulous restaurants and shopping. We went to 5 different beach clubs, most required reservations and someone to get us in, so we had to make many friends while we were there- and did. Back at the home, the real attraction were the grounds and they mostly certainly have a wow factor. The backyard and pool area were so spacious and calming. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside and relaxing at the pool before heading out each day. There is even a tennis court after you walk through a wooded area that has lights but for some odd reason, the owner does not provide rackets to play. Pack your pickle ball paddles and balls as we did. I think the home would accommodate about 5 couples easily or several families, although the bedrooms are on the smaller side and home is not overly large but has a lot of bedrooms. There are two master suites on opposite sides. We did not use an entire wing of the home since it was just the two of us. Had we known what to expect, I think we would have invited some more friends or family though, and also not felt a bit vulnerable being so remote. The home however does have a security system and metal doors or shutters that cover all the windows and was actually recommended to us to use, so we did. Homes in this area are very spread out and it seemed like a hidden exclusive area that could attract burglars knowing this, so we set the alarm at night and when not home. We felt safe in the day outside, but not necessarily in the night because it was just the two of us. I think it would be different with a larger group and fine otherwise. The yard is at least well lit up at night, but just quite large, several acres, and it is remote. As for the interiors, they were as you seen them, sort of country french and nothing fancy. The kitchen was large and we used it only for simple breakfast, but seemed well equipped. The home is mostly made up of bedrooms so the common area is not as large if you going with a group, but I think groups would really enjoy the outside areas. Bathrooms also were fairly modern and comfortable, except for the high bear claw bath tub once had to climb into to use the shower. I ended up using the shower in the adjacent bedroom because of this and fortunately had that option. Lastly, we would like to thank Ben the concierge (and his mother) for his help during our stay. We dealt mostly with the mother before our stay, and only met Ben on the day of arrival. He was most helpful in securing some dinner reservations and help when needed once there, as we did have to contact him a few times with various questions, and also setting off the very loud alarm (perhaps so it can be heard far away). This home and the yard and pool area particularly is simply magical, and we would very much love to return some day. ”

June 2022Les Foudoux
Beyond spectacular! Villa and grounds were absolutely beautiful. Major domo, Ben, was amazing. Nothing was too much for him. And he did everything with a big smile. I recommend that you hire Colin, as your private chef for several evenings. You will not have a better meal anywhere in France! He prepared lunches and dinners for us, using the freshest vegetables, fruits and fish, and in the most beautiful presentation. Pat Magdol”
