Fantasy Villa on outskirts of San Miguel

Just finished a weeks stay at Villa Nella. The hosts could not have been more accommodating. We were surprised to learn that the home came with a staff of three. Rufina, Dulce and Juan Luis did everything to make sure our stay was effortless and enjoyable. We had breakfast cooked for us every day and even a splendid taco extravaganza one evening. The villa is not in the historic old town but located about ten minutes outside the city in a pastoral setting. We thought it might be necessary to rent a car but honestly, the car service that the owner recommended turned out to be the better choice. It was far easier and quite frankly less expensive to have the service drop us off at our preferred location than trying to navigate the narrow, winding streets and dealing with parking the car. There is no heat or air conditioning in this home, even though it is very spacious, outfitted in the most tasteful and stylish manner but I understand that this is normal for this area. We confirmed this with ex pat Americans living in San Miguel historic district. The water service (especially determining which way the faucet had to be turned to get hot water.... it's to the right in the master sink but to the left in the shower) could also be a bit tricky but all in all not a major issue compared to the over all appeal of this spectacular home. All four bedrooms had ensuite baths with luxurious linens. One bedroom does have two full beds but the other three bedrooms have very comfortable king sized beds. The home is located in a gated enclave of 5 homes with a security gate and attendant. The property has a large walled back yard that appears to be used as an event (weddings??) space that looks over farm land so it is very quiet. All in all we were extremely pleased with our stay at this lovely home and would recommend it highly. ”
