September 2026A Perfect Waterfront Family Getaway
We had such a wonderful stay at this Waterfront Retreat in the Northern Neck of Virginia. Coming from New York, we chose the home as the perfect midpoint to bring family together from NY, NJ, & NC, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. The home was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a multigenerational family getaway. We spent our days enjoying the pool, relaxing and catching up on the porches, and heading down to the dock to take in the peaceful waterfront setting. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out while still having wonderful spaces to gather, laugh, eat, and just enjoy being together. We also appreciated the thoughtful local recommendations and visited a few of the suggested restaurants. But one of the best parts of the trip was honestly not feeling the need to do much at all. The setting made it easy to slow down, unplug, and simply enjoy the home and each other. This was exactly the kind of relaxing family escape we were hoping for Labor Day week. Lucky Dog River House was fantastic, and we are so grateful to our hosts for sharing their beautiful waterfront home with us. We left refreshed, with some great family memories, and would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful Chesapeake Bay getaway.”

Wow, wow, wow!! This property is amazing!! There were so many activities available at this house, the pool, the kayaks, water access, ping pong table, and much more. Lots of fun things to do around town also with some good restaurants to choose from hereby. The owners were very responsive when we had a couple questions. We would definitely recommend you stay here and enjoy the peace and serenity of the northern neck of Virginia.”
