Owner is very attentive. This wonderful barrier island beach home is secluded yet close to businesses of Wilmington. The home is spacious, attractively decorated and well-maintained. Situated in neighborhood of other fabulous properties on this controlled access island. The beach is among the best swimming beaches for families… a very gentle run-out. Water quality is very good. View is wonderful. Our second stay. Look forward to another.”

Week in April

The house was clean and well laid out. It had a number of nice features. Being on the gated island was a nice touch. The dunes and beach were very nice. The rooms in the house were comfortable and flexible in how they could be used. The master suite was a step above the other bedrooms and very nice. The area had a lot more restaurants than we anticipated. It is 5 miles back to US 17 but everything was there from grocery to Wal Mart to top seafood restaurant to a nationally recognized breakfast/lunch diner to gyms with weekly membership available. Scenery was top notch. The concierge type service was extremely helpful in arranging a boat outing and knowing special things about the area. Very enjoyable week. The bathrooms in the non master were somewhat dated. ”

Gift From the Sea is: private, comfortable, and charming. The beach view is simply amazing!!!!

The Hobbs were very caring and wonderful to work with during the planning of our Spring Break trip. The house is located directly on the beachfront making it convenient to take our grandchildren to the beach. We were there in April (this month) so the water was too cold to swim. However, The flat roads made it a great place to teach our grand daughter how to ride her new bike. We took away wonderful memories with our grand daughters. We recommend the following restaurants: Caprice (French bistro) and the Ice cream shop a few doors down. We also enjoyed Southbeach Grill in Wilmington.”

Gift From the Sea truly lived up to its name. The pristine beaches, laid back atmosphere, private feel and friendly residents made this beach vacation one we will never forget. The house was gorgeous; well stocked and comfortable for children and adults alike. The owners went above and beyond, offering tips and answering questions about the amenities and the surrounding area. The house was perfect for a large family (with kids), and the views were peaceful and gorgeous. We even saw a rainbow that landed on the beach from the second floor balcony! Gift From the Sea is truly a gem and highly recommended. We appreciate the opportunity to have visited this home and Figure Eight Island.”
