June 2023Perfect Downtown Anchorage Apartment!
We had a wonderful stay at Carmen's place in downtown Anchorage! Her home is in the perfect location - centrally located to just about everything in downtown and surrounding areas. We took several day trips (Seward, Chugatch State Park, Girdwood, etc.) and returning to Carmen's home was the perfect ending to our days. The views from the property are stunning and we truly enjoyed the evening light display during the summer sunsets. The home itself is well suited for a family (2 adults + 2 kids) and could suffice for 2 couples as well. The living area is spacious and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools and spices. Carmen even provided us some starter items for our stay (milk, muffins, coffee, butter, etc.). Carmen was incredibly helpful throughout our visit, providing helpful information on things to do in and around Anchorage, recommendations for restaurants, and fun activities for my children. She was a great host and we would definitely stay here again!”

May 2023Incredible Alaska trip staying in a very nice property in Anchorage
The bad news, there is only one property on Third Home in Anchorage, Alaska. The good news is that it is Downtown Anchorage premium retreat. Our stay in this lovely downtown Anchorage apartment was wonderful. It is located by the sea and a two block walk from the heart of downtown. Everything you can possibly need is within walking distance. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Two queen size bedrooms and two full baths made the stay more comfortable for my wife and I as well as our teen kids. There is a covered parking space with an elevator that takes you directly from the garage to the apartment, very convenient. The elevator takes you also to a shared rooftop with magnificent views of downtown, the ocean and OMG midnight sunsets. Carmen, the owner/host was most kind and helpful in anything that was needed. Communication with her was excellent all the time, well before arrival and after departure. Anchorage is a paradise in the summertime. 18 hour days let you enjoy the most of it. There are trails, walks, salmon fishing and bike rides right in the middle of the city. The most beautiful is the Tony Knowles Coastal Ride and it begins right in front of the apartment. Bike rental (Pablos bikes) is only two blocks away and ther provided electrically assisted bikes for my wife and I. In these bikes we could complete the 20 mile ride. You will soon forget you are in the middle of the largest city in Alaska. Carmen, as a local, born and raised in Alaska, provided excellent recommendations for dinning, shopping and visiting. After visiting Anchorage for a couple of days, there are several beautiful one day trips from Anchorage that will make your week pass very fast. Forget going to Alaska on a cruise. if you really want to know the Last Frontier you should visit mainland Alaska. After Anchorage, we rented a car and drove for five more days (1700 miles) to get to Mount Denali, Fairbanks and Valdez with a lot of things to do and see between them. The scenic views are just wonderful and make the long drive a good time investment. Can not think of a thing that could have gone better in our family trip and in achieving this, Carmen and her apartment were essential. She told us we were the first guests from Third Home to stay in her apartment. Our pleasure!. Thanks for everything Carmen and hope whoever goes to Anchorage enjoy Alaska as much as we did. ”
