Edisto is known to be a sportsman's paradise as there is an abundance of wildlife both on land and in the water. Dolphin sightings are a daily occurrence, and the Loggerhead Turtle is known to make Edisto home for its annual hatchlings. The fishing is worldclass as the waterways are abundant with spot tail bass, spotted trout, flounder, shrimp and offshore the gulf stream is known for its Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, a variety of Bottom Fish, and an occasional Marlin.

There are a variety of local events such as an annual Marlin Tournament, Shag Contest, Local Markets, Low Country Boils, and an annual Chili Cook Off. Botany Bay "The Boneyard" as many refer to it is known to be a popular location for various film sets like Mel Gibson's movie The Patriot and the very popular Outer Banks.

As it's a non-smoking environment inside our home please be sure to use the garbage receptacles outside for any cigarette butts or trash. Back porch lights will need to be turned off during turtle season at dusk and the island does not allow glass on the beach.

Amazing House and Position on the perfect beach!

After Dune Delight was such a fantastic house to join with our college friends. The sunrise from the bedrooms facing the ocean and watching the sunsets from the balcony didn't disappoint. We were lucky with great weather and enjoyed golf and tennis very close by. The beaches were mostly private for our December stay. The owners were most gracious with any questions and even some holiday trimmings for our arrival. Highly recommend.”

Wonderful large home right on the beach!

This home was perfect for our family of 14 to enjoy Edisto Island. It is very spacious and well decorated and came stocked with everything you might need for the kitchen, beach, etc. The location was excellent, walking out the back door through a small grass yard, then private sandy area before going through a very short boardwalk through a dune onto the public beach. This space was excellent for our younger kids to play in. ”

After Dune Delight was Beautiful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property right on the ocean. The sound of the waves was so soothing at night. Bedrooms were comfortable and spacious as well as the en suite bathrooms Only cons - there were a few things that needed to be fixed like the racks on the dishwasher, no wine glasses, no beach towels, no hair dryers. We were able to get hairdryers from the mgmt company and they looked at the dishwasher. Overall though we had a great week with friends and cooked many wonderful meals in the well appointed kitchen. ”
