Description

Lucky Duck Ranch

The ranch spans 230 acres and fronts the Yellowstone River for over a mile. Across the river, one can admire a picturesque view composed of agricultural fields and the foothills of native range, with the majestic Crazy Mountains serving as a scenic backdrop in the northern direction. When first arriving at the property, the breathtaking prominence of the Crazy Mountains immediately captures one's attention. The driveway traverses a flat bench before descending from a bluff towards the river, creating a remarkably secluded setting for the residence.

Behind the house, a beautiful spring-fed wetland emerges, forming several acres of cattail wetlands. These wetlands not only contribute to the aesthetic appeal but also serve as a habitat for trout spawning. A small stream, which has been enhanced to support the spawning of trout, meanders through the wetlands and eventually flows into the Yellowstone River at the eastern end of the property. Mowed trails invite visitors to take a leisurely walk along the creek and the riverbank, offering a serene and enjoyable experience.

Lucky Duck Ranch is situated along the Yellowstone River in close proximity to Springdale, MT, approximately 21 miles east of Livingston. Continuing further east, one would reach the town of Big Timber, located approximately 15 miles away. The Yellowstone River originates from Yellowstone National Park near the park's north entrance in Gardiner, MT, which is roughly 75 miles from the ranch.

For those seeking a vibrant cultural experience, convenient retail options, and various services, the bustling city of Bozeman, MT awaits approximately 47 miles to the west. Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport, the busiest airport in Montana, is located roughly 60 miles away from the ranch, providing convenient air travel options. In addition, Livingston offers a paved 5,701-foot airstrip at an elevation of 4,659 feet. This airstrip is equipped to accommodate most jets with instrument approaches, and it also offers fuel and hangar rentals.

Relaxing Stay

We loved our stay at the Lucky Duck Ranch! The house is immaculate, cozy, well styled, and new. The bed was so comfy we've attempted to recreate it at home. Our dog enjoyed watching for birds and chewing sticks on the back porch. The property is secluded and on the river which was nice for taking walks. We brought things to fish but didn't end up attempting it. We enjoyed driving through Big Timber to check out the shops the host recommended and had a fun night exploring Bozeman, which was about an hour away.”

Wonderful Stay in the Snow over Thanksgiving!

Our family of 5 enjoyed a week at Lucky Duck Ranch. We stayed over Thanksgiving week and we enjoyed about 6 inches of snowfall. The home is beautifully decorated, well insulated, and equipped with all you need. Allen was helpful to answer our questions in advance and provide lots of details on things to do in the surrounding area. The home is in a beautiful location and we saw wildlife along the river and enjoyed walking all over the property. We would definitely stay again at this wonderful home!”

We were the lucky ducks!

We so enjoyed our stay on at the Lucky Duck Ranch. It was amazing to be in this beautiful natural setting, with the Yellow Stone River running through the property. This is the perfect fly fisherman's paradise or the perfect getaway for solitude. We also enjoyed the neighboring town of Livingston and Bozeman, which have some great restaurants, but are a bit of a drive. Allen our host was warm and friendly and gave us some nice options for things to do. Montana is beautiful. ”
