Description

Château D'Epinac

The Château d'Epinac, a magnificent historic castle in the heart of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France, boasts a rich history that traces back to the 13th century.

This enchanting chateau, with its 11 bedrooms, sprawls over an impressive 1600 square meters, revealing a captivating blend of architectural styles that have evolved through centuries of renovations and additions. The castle, standing four stories tall, is a testament to the architectural prowess of the artisans who contributed to its construction and transformation over the years. The kitchen has 8 burners (4 induction and 4 gas), 2 ovens, 2/3 fridges, and what is referred to as an old kitchen is a sort of informal dining room adjoining the kitchen.

The Château d'Epinac is not merely a historical structure; it is a repository of culture and art. Its interiors are adorned with a vast collection of ancient artworks, reflecting the tastes and preferences of the owners who have left their mark on this grand estate. These treasures provide a glimpse into the aesthetics and lifestyle of the aristocracy that once inhabited the castle.

The chateau would likely feature grand reception rooms elegantly decorated with period furnishings, tapestries, and chandeliers. These rooms would have been used to host elaborate social events, from royal banquets to elegant soirées. With 11 bedrooms, the chateau would have housed an array of well-appointed sleeping chambers, each reflecting different design styles and historical periods. These spaces would have been the private sanctuaries of the chateau's owners and guests.

The reference to "a lot of ancient arts" hints at a collection of valuable artworks that might include paintings, sculptures, and decorative items. These pieces would provide a glimpse into the artistry and cultural tastes of the chateau's former residents. The chateau's interior would likely be furnished with antique and period-appropriate furniture. This would include ornate tables, chairs, cabinets, and other furnishings that complement the historical ambience of the castle.

Surrounded by sprawling grounds, the Château d'Epinac is nestled in a picturesque landscape with lush gardens, scenic vistas, and charming courtyards. The tranquil countryside that envelops the chateau adds to the sense of historical elegance and serenity that defines the estate.

A fun Castle with oh so many rooms

Chateau Epinac is a very interested place to stay. Rooms everywhere, tons of lovely antiques, a very nice and responsive caretaker Wolf. The kitchen is small and a bit limited if you like to cook a lot. But Wolf brought us everything we requested. There are still a few things being worked out. We were the second group to visit since it opened up, TVs were out due to a storm as was the outside hot tub, but we didn't miss them. Some strange fly issues in a few rooms, but it was a great location and a great experience in a truly classic Castle. Lots of space on the grounds, It rained during our stay but we were out touring Burgundy and the wineries so it didn't dampen our spirits. Would go back.”

Amazing fun and unique stay! Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay in the castle. It’s an experience like no other. You are staying in a piece of history surrounded by museum quality decor. Alessondro was so helpful in all of our planning leading up to our stay to make sure everything was perfect. There is a caretaker on the property that’s been there 35 years that is full of useful information. We hired a chef to come in one night and it was the best food and the most amazing experience. I can’t wait to come back one day.”
