Perfect summer reset

Our stay at Villa Laura at Golden Cove was the perfect summer reset. MJ and her team have thought of everything to make sure you are well taken care of. The property is absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. Recommend the meal plan services and do the Jamaican menu. You will be impressed with the service and food. Our driver Dino was beyond amazing, we left feeling like we had a new family. ”

Beautiful with a serenity

The home was absolutely beautiful. Very spacious, lots of special touches. The outdoors environment was breath taken. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. The home included lots of amenities and snacks. I enjoyed the home immensely. Now, the bad part, the owner dismissed me when I reached out to him regarding transportation. That was pretty rude. Also, security was always hard to find when leaving the property and returning back to the property. I had to call the property manager every single time to let me in the gate. ”

Wonderful Staff but property is lacking

I hate to leave a review that could deter people from going to this area that truly needs our support but you need to know what to expect if you do come to this property. For one you are literally across a busy road from the airport but w so few flights we were not bothered by the traffic noise. Friendly service meets you at the airport & brings you safely to the property & a local driver will take you places for $30-$40 per person also acting as a body guard although where he took us of course it seemed safe. We did however overpay for local rum cream liquors which we later found for much cheaper at the grocery store & paid $20 for a coconut shell beverage at a restaurant which was unexpected.....There are no spices or even salt & pepper at the house although Molly (a gem!) brought us some. Otherwise the kitchen is well stocked. The house was very nice- we loved the beds!! The property however is very weathered as would be expected on the ocean but some things need replacing- esp the snorkeling equipment so bring your own. Be ready to not drink the water, have ice in a drink or eat salads ect out. Drink bottled water or better yet get a Lifestraw water bottle & make ice w/ the bottled water. We did boil water however for coffee & that seemed to work well. I think ice out made my husband sick:(. I personally felt caged in as I like to walk the beach but there is none to walk there - small man made beach w ocean access only & no way you could venture outside the gated community due to the busy road. ”

Most Amazing

Our visit could not have been more perfect. The Villa was clean and inviting and only 2 minutes from the airport. The pool and the grounds made us not want to leave. But, more importantly, the staff was amazing. They cooked, cleaned and took us anywhere with a smile. I hope we can return!!!!”

Villa in un piccolo complesso molto accogliente e organizzato, casa bella con atmosfera coloniale ,, la differenza la fa il personale di servizio , noi abbiamo scelto di avere un servizio che comprendeva , cuoco , cameriere e la governante ,, ci hanno coccolati per tutta la vacanza. un ringraziamento particolare però va alla signorina Molly che ci ha assistito in maniera impeccabile per tutto il soggiorno in villa ,,organizzandoci in maniera perfetta tutte le nostre richieste e bisogni ,, un grande grazie a tutti . la Giamaica è in forte espansione turistica e non tutti i giamaicani sono pronti a questo . sicuramente però da provare ”

Jamacian Paradise

This place is more beautiful than the pictures show. It consists of 4 houses within a private gated area. It is located right on the water, however no natural beach and a very rocky entrance to the water. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were the only guests there that week, so we had the entire place to ourselves. The disappointment was, upon arrival, it took 2 hours to get thru the airport and a 3 hour drive( on the left side of the road ) to get to the house The house we stayed in was located next to a main road and it felt like we were sleeping in a motor speedway all night. The kitchen was adequate but not well supplied. James Bond Beach as well as some of the restaurants have closed. Restaurants were sparce and 30-45 minutes away.”

Amazing place

Such a serene place. Would like to see Thirdhome write up updated. Pictures don't do it justice. House is actually 4 bedrooms. Didn't know when I booked that there was a full time on property butler or an option for daily housekeeping/chef for $100 daily. I felt unprepared for this and was given expected tip information that I hadnot anticipated. Otherwise, slice of Caribbean heaven!”

Great Week

The home was clean, the staff was fantastic! We had a great week at Golden Cove. Went to James Bond beach a few times. It is a very protected cove where you can snorkel or paddle board. The grounds were well maintained and there were plenty of places to relax while looking out towards the sea. We would definitely stay there again. ”

Charming Villa with Great Staff

We really enjoyed our week at Villa Laura at Golden Cove. The property was charming and our kids loved all the amenities; pool, kayaking, ping pong, basketball, wifi tree. We especially enjoyed the staff that came with our villa. We had a wonderful housekeeper and waiter. In addition the chef prepared all our meals while we were on property and they were delicious! I am giving the villa 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons which could be an issue for some guests; traffic noise at night, bathrooms are older and only bedrooms have AC which wasn't an issue in March, but could be an issue in the summer months. Overall we had a great time!”
