September 2025Sensational Sagaponack
While the well-heeled NYC set are adamant that the time to be in The Hamptons is Memorial Day to Labor Day, if you have the ability to hang on for a week or two, your patience is likely to be richly rewarded. We had the privilege of spending a mid-September week here at Sagaponack Dream and I could not recommend it more highly. Popular restaurants in this vicinity are notoriously difficult to get into in the summer, but not in September. Now you get the best of all worlds - super weather, empty beaches and tables at where you want to eat without the hassle. Bistro Ete in Water Mill was particularly good. This is a beautifully designed and equipped family home that is as chic as it is comfortable. Everything has been well thought through and you want for nothing. There are so many communal areas in which to relax and the well-equipped gym is an excellent feature. The cold plunge and sauna really aid relaxation and the pool was the perfect temperature. This home is a stone's throw from both the recently renovated Sagaponack General Store which served great morning coffee and Sagg Main Beach which, for long stretches, we had to ourselves. We hired a chef and hosted a dinner for 15 on the terrace outside the kitchen - a magical setting. From here we were able to explore Southampton, Montauk and all the spots in between. Thank you, Tracey, for opening your house to us. We had an incredible stay. ”
