Perfect stay Romantic Anniversary

We absolutely loved this apartment. The interior is small but beautiful and when we weren’t sleeping, our time at the apartment was all spent on the terrace, enjoying the views, our morning coffee, our meals, our evening cocktails… and the location was perfect for walking to fantastic restaurants and to the town center. And our hosts were equally perfect. Extremely helpful and kind. If we go back to San Miquel de Allende we would absolutely choose to stay here again. And if we go back with a larger group that requires us to stay elsewhere, I would hope to take the owners for a drink to thank them again for our wonderful anniversary stay.”

Comfort and convenience in San Miguel

We had a great stay at La Casa de la Alegria for a week in mid April. The house was close to everything we wanted to see in San Miguel, and we walked from there to the downtown and some of the areas further out. Our hosts, Carrie and Bill, were super accommodating, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay for the week, including suggestions for places to see, restaurants, shuttle services, etc.. The rooms and furnishings are very elegant, and everything worked perfectly. We loved the spacious bathroom and the nice texture of the ceramic floor throughout the house.”

The casa is exactly as described. It is beautiful, comfortable and has everything you need. Carrie and Bill are delightful people. They were very accommodating and provided lots of information from restaurants to tours . We enjoyed staying there and visiting the lovely town of San Miguel.”

Hidden gem!

This is one of those rare reviews that is hard to write, and not because it wasn't wonderful, but because everything was so perfect you're a little nervous about sharing your find with too many people! The photos on Thirdhome of La Casa de la Alegria looked amazing, but it was even better in person - beautiful styling and architecture, luxurious amenities, privacy, and so much more. For a "casita" we expected it to be much smaller than it was but the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/dining/living area, and rooftop terrace were spacious and provided the two of us with so much room to relax in when we weren't walking virtually everywhere given the awesome location near Parque Benito Juarez, Jardin Allende, and the Zona Centro. Everything was in terrific condition, and the daily maid service was a very nice touch! As first time visitors to San Miguel de Allende, our hosts were extremely helpful in providing personal recommendations for everything from restaurants and shopping to day trips and local transportation options. Communications were a breeze and they were extremely timely and responsive to all of our inquiries before and during our stay. This is one of those rare properties you keep on your shortlist for follow-up trips!”
