Uptown Penthouse was perfect

This 3rd home property could not have been better. Our hostess had thought of everything, from local recommendations to stocking the fridge with water, juice, a few beers and some pop. The townhome was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated as well as perfectly located to visit all of the New Orleans sites. Ideal New Orleans vacation

We spent a lovely week in New Orleans at the Uptown Penthouse. The location on St Charles Avenue is enchanting...quiet, serene and surrounded by magnificent Spanish moss draped live oaks, with intermittent but pleasant interruptions by the charming trolley cars as they slowly rumbled down the tracks. Very nice to lounge in the sitting area and enjoy a cup of coffee while gazing through the large windows to view the outside scenes unfolding below. The house itself is perfect. The interior decorations fit the house and its location to a "T". The master bedroom is spacious and has a large bathroom which has the feel of old time New Orleans, but with new and modern fixtures and shower. Plenty of chairs in the sitting areas and a very comfortable living room with couch, chairs and TV. We felt comfortable and safe walking in the surrounding area, and had long walks down St Charles to the convention center and Mississippi riverfront. We also enjoyed walking many of the streets close to the Penthouse, especially Magazine Street which has a plethora of excellent restaurants. Kathleen, the owner of the Penthouse, was amazingly cordial and helpful. She emailed recommendations for dining as well as sights and activities of interest. While we would have had to stay a month or more to go and do and dine at all of those places, we did fill up our week nicely and left plenty to do at a later date. Her recommendations were spot on, and we prospected a couple more, including a late night visit to Les Bon Temps Roule bar/café on Magazine St where we enjoyed the very late night music of a local, and excellent, brass band, The Soul Rebels. All in all, just a great getaway week! ”

Treated like Royalty at the Uptown Penthouse

We were treated like Royalty at the Uptown Penthouse. Everything was finished with a quality that isn't often found today, from the linens to the sundries. The location is in a premium area on St. Charles Street. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood to look at the huge stately mansions. A few minutes on foot will take you to an excellent breakfast restaurant called the Flying Pig, and a dinner restaurant called Upperline. Another short walk will take you to Superior seafood. New Orleans was full of explorations for us, and we were very happy to return home to the luxury of the Uptown Penthouse. I do hope we can return next year. ”

Perfect New Orleans Vacation!

Everything about our stay was perfection, all starting with the gracious host Kathleen. She was easy to communicate with, very flexible with plans, and offering everything we could need to make our stay memorable. As for home, I don't know where to start. Bright sun filled rooms, beautifully decorated with no detail missed. We felt right at home the moment we arrived, and didn't want to leave. The location is perfect right on St. Charles Ave., with access to the streetcar just outside the front door, and a lovely walk to Audubon Park. This home could not be any more convenient to explore everything New Orleans has to offer. We will certainly be back! Thanks again Kathleen!”

Gracious host and home in New Orleans

We were so pleased with our stay at the uptown penthouse. The detail work in the finishing puts this property in a five star rating. Beautiful linens, kitchenware, furnishings and fixtures throughout. Bathrooms were absolute luxury. The owner was lovely, and took the time to provide us with information on the neighborhood. The house is located on the most desirable street in New Orleans. It was great fun walking through the area looking at the historic mansions. First class restaurants were also close at hand. We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting New Orleans. ”

Simply spectacular

I don't know where to begin in my raves about this property. The location is ideal - on St Charles Avenue right across from a streetcar stop that provides easy access to the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and business districts. We loved being able to visit those areas and then leave them behind and return to the quiet elegance of the Garden District. The apartment itself is exquisite - tasteful and welcoming. The property owner is AMAZING. She provided excellent suggestions and advice about places to eat and visit...and even set up a basketball hoop in the back when I mentioned that my son likes basketball. I was overwhelmed by her gracious thoughtfulness. In all, it was a perfect experience.”

A true sanctuary in a wonderful location

We loved our stay at Uptown Penthouse. It could not be more tastefully done, beautiful and spacious, a perfect mix of classic surroundings reflecting the history of NOLA with all the modern amenities. It's location is superb as there is a streetcar stop right in front of the place, and it is easy to get anywhere. The host was extremely gracious in so many ways.
