Purgatory Lodge has every possible winter activity available for guest to enjoy including tubing, snow shoeing tours, snow mobile rentals and tours, snow cat skiing and snowboarding, sleigh rides, dog sledding, Nordic skiing, Ice Climbing, back country skiing and riding.

Some of the best ski lessons in the country are offer through the Ski School. Ski rentals located in building next to Lodge. The lodge itself has a the private Durango Mountain Club that is exclusive to members and guests.

Enjoy two story windowed views the slopes and Needles Mountain range, while having an apres ski cocktail, or dinner, while the children watch a movie, play pool or play their favorite video game in the adjacent game room.

Complimentary continental breakfast is also served each morning to guest staying during winter and summer seasons at Durango Mountain Club. Summer activities are just as numerous as winter. With and alpine slide for those with a need for speed, weekly nature hikes, miniature golf, a zipline, mechanical bull, climbing wall, and numerous other activities take place right outside.

A few weeks in the summer there is "Music in the Mountains" which takes place on the mountain, just next to the ski lift with evening concerts. Fishing, mountain climbing and horseback riding are quite close. Mountain biking and white water rafting. Iron Man is run through Durango once a summer.
