Great ocean front location and friendly service staff. Fine accommodation, but plunge pool in our room was not operating. We were not notified of this problem at check in. When we contacted resort about this, they said they would not be fixing it. We were forced to pay expensive all inclusive charges of $235/person/day. We were told this would be reduced to $191/day, if we paid in advance, but this is a SCAM! GBS made it impossible to pay in advance. Resort has only three restaurant choices, with limited menus and the quality of food was very poor. Two of these restaurants are outdoors, so are not accessible if poor weather. The inclusive plan included only mediocre house wines, other choices were available for additional cost. We were also harassed to attend a time share presentation during our stay. This made us uncomfortable. Overall, disappointing … we will never stay at Casa Del Mar Resort again. ”

Beautiful Resort

We stayed here in Feb 2022, I returned and a family emergency prevented me from writing this review at the time, I'm finally just now doing this review. The resort is beautiful and very well landscaped. The unit was fine, a 3 bedroom is actually a 2 bedroom unit sharing the same entrance with a Studio unit. The pool on the deck was not working and we found out that many of them are not working. That was a disappointment considering that is one of the reason we chose this resort. The staff at the main Resort pool was great and we had fun hanging out there. We also hung out at the "owner's pool" which didn't have a staff or bar but we were able to take our own snacks and drinks. Our biggest issue was related to our arrival - the Resort is not aware/informed of the Thirdhome reservations and the guard at the owner's area was not letting us through because, although I had the printout of the reservation, I didn't have the name of the unit or owner (Royal Villa is not a name of a unit). Being a weekend, we didn't get through to Thirdhome or our rep. If it had not been for the insistence of our driver to let us through to drive around, we would not have gotten in that night. And even then, the "office" is not really an office, it is a desk set up in an alcove with no obvious sign that we should check in there. They had the same problem with our reservation - no name of the unit or owner. They assured us that we had a unit, they just didn't know which one and so our driver finally felt comfortable leaving us there. Be aware.”

Great quiet property that was being renovated and very little communication

Positive side - The property was great. Our 3 bdr unit was large, clean, well stocked with beautiful views. The negative side was the hot tub was not working. My major complaint was very little communication and direction prior to our visit. ”

Beautiful place - Needs better Food options

Upon arrival you are at awe of the amazing view from the lobby overlooking the pool and ocean. The Food is pretty bad and forced us to eat off property almost the entire trip. Great resurants just 1 or 2 resorts down the beach. Suite - Plunge pool did not work the entire stay. Whale watching was amazing from the pool & beach area! Would have to think hard about a return trip to CDM! Noting is bad in Cabo, staff was excellent!”

Relaxing Retreat

Casa del Mar was a lovely resort, beautiful pool, and great service. The units are comfortable, and the rectangle shaped endless edge jacuzzi was the place for morning coffee. It is set back a bit from the beach but still has a nice view of the ocean. If you want to go to town or any restaurants you would need to rent a car as this is 20 minute drive to anywhere. We rented a car & had no issues. Covid testing was done at the hotel for $30.00, very easy. ”

Save your keys

Lovely grounds and foliage were the highlights of our stay but the disappointments seemed to win out here. Definitely not Thirdhome standards. When we checked in at 10 pm the suite had housekeeping carts and piles of bedding and towels in the living room and bedrooms. The beds were stripped and the floors needed to be cleaned. The only option we were given was to move to a two bedroom and return the next day. It took the two housekeepers a half hour to get to our room and they quickly did their best (their shift ended at 11pm) to get the suite usable for the evening. The suite was definitely not ready to be occupied as it appears the housekeepers left halfway through the cleaning. The plunge pool was barely room temperature and the lights didn't work. No attempt was made to get the lights working because we were told the lights haven't worked for a while now. Tried to take a shower but the water wouldn't warm up for over 5 minutes. The worker then taught me to go to the sink on the left and turn the hot water on then go to the shower and turn on the hot water. We were only allowed four room keys for our 3 bedroom. One day in to our stay the keys to the room wouldn't work and we could only get two keys because we only had two keys present to exchange (other family was gone). Want to bbq? Well you need to call 10 minutes in advance to have someone come and fire up the bbq for you. The gym had more free weights missing than available to use and was rather small. Don't expect an ocean view because when you sit down on the terrace the plants block your view. The frying pans were very used with chunks of teflon missing. The suite next door ordered room service and 24 hours later their dishes were still sitting in the hallway outside their suite. At no point did management contact us or try to right the wrongs of our check in night. If our stay wasn't bad enough, we were told the day before checkout that we needed to be out of the room by 10am the next morning with no exceptions. The next morning we received another call reminding us to be out by 10 am. This room goes for 3 to 9 keys which means depending on season this room costs Thirdhome members between $2000 and up to $6000. Save your keys friends. We have a reservation for February of 2022 and are hoping we can cancel that reservation for a different resort or home. ”

SPACIOUS WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE OCEAN

Lovely resort with many nice pools. The unit was huge and very nice, but could use some updates. Friendly staff. Good food, but not great. Location about 20 minutes from downtown Cabo and the Marina and need an Uber if you want to eat anywhere besides the resort. The infinity pool on the deck was wonderful. This room came with 12 rounds of golf and 25% off meals and spa. Excellent value for the exchange fee. ”

Great Place But Confusion At Arrival.

Lovely and spacious home. A bit worn and could use a little maintenance but can’t beat the size, space and views! WARNING. Hotel did not have our name on file and we had to wait two hours at the gate to get everything sorted out. Call ahead before you leave home to confirm. Also you will need to provide basics such as coffee filters, sugar etc. Stock up at Walmart on the way from the airport. Lovely staff, lots of pools to chose from. Great ocean views. We would come back! ”

Quiet & Comfortable

We enjoyed staying at Las Residencias. The unit was large and comfortable, the infinity edge hot tub was a nice touch, and the pool that served our building was very nice. We didn't mind the lack of people at the resort, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food at the restaurant was good and affordable. We were disappointed that the grill that served our building didn't work. We were told it would be worked on the next day, but that never happened over six days. Also, there is a note in the unit regarding the daily maid service. We never saw a maid and were told upon checkout that the maid service didn't apply to Third Home guests. I'm more than certain that the folks who got the unit I traded in got daily maid service. $2000 maintenance fee and an $895 exchange fee should warrant daily maid service. Extremely disappointed in the taxi Nazi who refused to get us a taxi because we were going to look at another resort.”

Last minute trip with friends

My friends and I had a great time at the villa. Plenty of space for all of us and great staff at the property to assist with all of our needs. We will return again”

Incredible penthouse

This was the perfect place for our Cabo vacation. It was very roomy, nicely equipped, centrally located, very quiet, and beautiful views of the ocean. We felt like we had the place to ourselves as it was very quiet and not overly crowded. The restaurant was fantastic. Nd we ate there nearly every night. Golf at the 3 courses that you have access to was also very nice. The service was just outstanding as everyone was very friendly and ready to help in any way. We love Las Residencias. ”

Las Residencias, Royal Villa - 3 Bedroom Residence is truly beautiful with lovely decor, amazing views, sunny weather and gorgeous ocean! The Villa was great with lots of room and plenty of relaxation after a fun-filled day horseback riding on the beach and many other great activities nearby. Evenings in the private infinity pool was luxurious! We will be reserving at Las Residencias again through THIRDHOME!”

Great Resort, great views, great times

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Del Mar. The residences are beautiful with a huge infinity hot tub on the veranda that was the highlight of our relaxing nights. The staff was excellent and attentive, helping us out with everything we needed. Cabo Real golf course is right next door and it was an amazing course (designed by Robert Trent Jones II) with ocean views and well manicured greens. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the resort is about 15 minutes from downtown, so if you plan on going into town a lot you should rent a car.”

Phenomenal Trip!

Our stay at Las Residencias was wonderful. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo. The owner, Kathy was so helpful from start to finish! She gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do when not enjoying her residence. Our private hot tub was easily big enough for six people. We were able to enjoy the ocean view while in the hot tub. We definitely want to return. Thank you Kathy for making your property available to us on Third Home!”

Beautiful Villa Overlooking the Sea

We enjoyed our time at Las Residencias Casa Del Mar. We thought the rooms were spacious and well appointed. Dailly housekeeping was delightful. We also enjoyed the infinity hot tub and pool. Check in and check out were not what we expected. The resort had no information on our stay and it took approximately one hour to locate the details. In addition, check out is at 10 am with no exceptions. We were not notified of this until we asked on the last day of our stay. ”

Great Property

Really nice condo in a great development. The choices for dining are somewhat limited, so you will need a taxi or rental car if you want to dine off property. We stocked up on groceries and were ok taking taxis to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Los Cabos for more dining and entertainment choices. Staff was extremely attentive and it was nice having daily maid service. ”

Relaxing - Exceptionl Service

We enjoyed our stay at Las Residencias! The Villa was beautiful and had a great view of the beach and ocean! The staff at Casa Del Mar were very helpful and catered to our every need! The food at the pool bar and restaurant were top notch! We really enjoyed the romantic dinner Wednesday night with a live harp. We golfed 4 days and Cabo Real was our favorite very conveniently located across the street! We'll be back!”
