A storybook week

This Home exceeded our expectations, even though our expectations were very high. My daughter and her two little girls and her husband accompanied me for a week in this beautiful home in the Cotswolds, and it was magical. The area is every bit as beautiful as you could hope it could be and the house is every bit as comfortable and wonderful as you could wish for. So much so in fact that it was hard to drag us away from this beautiful house. The little girls never wanted to leave! They thought it was a fairytale house for sure. Our hosts were so thoughtful and incredibly responsive to any questions. We truly dream of coming back here again.”

A little slice of Heaven!

We really enjoyed our time at Fox End. At first, we thought it might be a little remote, but then quickly realized we were in the absolutely perfect location! The home is in a great location for discovering all that the Cotswolds have to offer, well cared for, and stocked wonderfully with everything you need including extra little serving dishes. We especially loved making our morning coffee with the Nespresso maker. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we enjoyed the neighboring lambs, goats and chickens! Don't miss a visit to Chastleton House and the adjacent chapel. This home is truly a rare find.”

WOW WOW WOW

This thatched-roof chocolate-box-style cottage is the bomb. THE bomb. Newly renovated (sadly, due to some dope who put a cardboard box on the log fire which then set fire to the roof) with all the modern touches and luxurious trappings one could ever hope to enjoy. Exceptionally clean and well-equipped with all of the necessary items from A-Z. The instruction booklet is the most thorough and helpful I have even seen. Oh yes, and then there is the location. Set is a lovely little group of houses just below Chastleton House (a must see) and minutes from Moreton-in-Marsh should you wish to use the train. The North Cotswolds location is central to everything you might wish to see, and very close to Oxford, Stratford and Blenheim Palace for easy day trips. Do take the Cotswolds Mystery Tour...it was great fun. At the end of each day, it was great to return to the peace and serenity of the rolling pastures and listen to the sounds of the newly born lambs and mommy sheep, as well as the clip-clop of people on horseback. Everything about it is perfect, just perfect. When it becomes available again, book it without hesitation. But you will have to beat me to it...”

Fabulous Home- Great Location

Staying at Fox End was the most wonderful experience!! The home is super comfortable, spacious, and very well done. I can't say how much we enjoyed staying in this authentic old thatched roof cottage, where you could hear the faint sound of sheep from the pasture next door - and peek out the window to see them. The house was just around the corner from Chastleton House, a National Historic Landmark, which is a must see. We LOVED our trip to the Cotswolds and staying in this home is really what made the trip so special. Would love to go back again some day! Fall in Love with Fox End

We did--fall in love, that is. Hated to leave! This was the perfect storybook cottage in the perfect location. Our family of five were exceedingly comfortable in this well-appointed, gracious and beautifully furnished home. Marcus could not have been more responsive and accommodating--he and his wife have made Fox End so welcoming. In terms of location, the home is tucked away in the country, but not so far as to be out of reach of excellent restaurants and nearby thriving villages--~10-20 mins drive to different options. Things we loved while there--there is a cattle farm right next door and loved watching the cows; traffic outside the cottage was minimal and sometimes was of the equine instead of automobile variety, which was wonderful. My daughter did a lesson and hack at the horse farm just down the lane two days of our trip and had a wonderful experience--and then rode right past our cottage on her hack! My husband and sons went trout fishing two days of our stay and I drove to visit the esteemed Hidcote Manor Gardens (about a 20 min. drive). We were there during the Cheltenham Festival so we went there one day, which was a very exciting and special memory for everyone! I loved driving over to Daylesford and taking in the beauty--and shopping for some special grocery items and fresh flowers for the cottage. We toyed with the idea of driving to Oxford for the day but in the end, we felt more like staying put and breathing in the slower pace of country life. Our visit was exactly what we wanted and needed it to be and it would be our pleasure to have the opportunity to return one day!”

A perfect cottage in the Cotswolds

They say turnabout is fair play. My British-born wife and I spent a week having a succession of her relatives come stay and enjoy our hospitality for a change in this divine cottage . Six and sometimes eight of us fit comfortably into the house . We cooked our meals in the fully equipped kitchen, gathered to eat them in the beautiful dining room, took post prandial cheer in the spacious living room, and at days end collapsed into bed. It could not have been a better, more welcoming place. And it is set in a countryside of ravishing beauty, where sheep do safely graze and sometimes do so right outside the kitchen window.”

Stepping into a Fairytale

Absolutely adored every minute at this quaint and comfortable cottage! So wonderfully centrally located and surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. Loved the little sheep behind us - waking to their "baa-ing", the clopping of the horses from the Riding Academy coming down the lane and all. The home was well equipped for all our needs with nice linens and comfortable beds. We toured all the Cotswold area we could and fell in love with each town differently, but especially Chipping Camden. Fox End was a great home base and a delightful cottage to return to each day. Could have spent even more time in the immediate area - as we so enjoyed the Chastelton House and the local restaurants!! Hopefully we can return soon. So sorry we did not get to meet Marcus, who was in the states...maybe next time. ”

A perfect Cotswold stay

This house was perfect for a family reunion of 4 couples. It was picturesque, but totally updated and modern inside. The gourmet kitchen had every convenience and we loved sitting around the kitchen table in the mornings planning our day. And at dinnertime we loved eating in the 1600's dining room with the subtle lighting and wonderful atmosphere. The bedrooms were well appointed and the bathrooms were all updated and modern. The location of the cottage was central to everything the Cotswolds has to offer. We went to theaters in Avon and Cheltenham, saw Highgrove House, and wandered through many of the local villages. We had a perfect week - and it didn't rain once!”

Memorable Stay at Fox End!

We had an incredible stay at Fox End this past September. First of all, the owner, Marcus was so helpful and accommodating in making sure our visit was enjoyable. He provided us a detailed list of things to do, places of interest, and restaurants. He also gave us a variety of helpful tips. We read over his list and took a lot of his suggestions and we weren't disappointed. The home was amazing! It is quaint and charming. Oftentimes, pictures of rental homes can be made to look better than the actual place. In this case, the home did not disappoint. The house is cozy and comfortable and Marcus has done an excellent job of making guests feel at home. We loved the cottage feel of the home, and yet it had all of the modern conveniences that were advertised. The bathrooms were roomy and we enjoyed the tubs--a nice feature that you don't always get when traveling especially when you stay in a traditional hotel. The kitchen area was also modern and updated and we enjoyed cooking a few meals while we were there. The location of the Cotswolds is ideal. It is close to London, but not too close. We also enjoyed the day trips to Stratford Upon Avon and Oxford. There were other day trips we could have done, but we also spent some of our short vacation in London and there just wasn't time to go to Bath or Stonehenge. All in all, I would definitely recommend Fox End to anyone considering staying there! ”

Elegant English Countryside - Perfect!

We had the most wonderful time at Fox End Cottage in Cotswolds! The home was perfect. It was completely redone inside and everything was in perfect order. Wonderful and comfortable beds with Frette sheets, a great kitchen complete with Nespresso coffee machine, a great welcome book with detailed instructions on what to do in the area, beautifully landscaped gardens, lovely neighbors who shared their baby lambs welcomed us to Cotswolds. I think what shocked us the most was how much there is to do in the English Countryside! I had expected to spend the week riding horses and relaxing, but there was so much to do we just couldn't fit it all in. Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, many beautiful small villages, lovely country roads, horse back riding, fishing, a lovely spa and yoga center - so much to do in a week! Thank you so much to the wonderful owners of Fox End for making our time so special. ”

Storybook

This cottage has all the comforts of English country life. The décor is impeccable and a delight to be in. The home is warm and welcoming, with soft blankets placed throughout.The setting is ideal and close to a wonderful riding school that took terrific care of us on our rides. We loved going to Stratford on the Avon for a day of Shakespearean theater and atmosphere. We thank our hosts for all they did to make our stay a very special experience, and look forward to visiting Fox End again.”

Excatly what we needed and more!

On behalf of my wife... We were 6 really good mates keen for a cosy weekend in the country, not too far from London (we have mostly got young children so it needed to be easily accessible!), where we could relax, have a proper catch up, go on some good long walks and have some great local pubs/amenities to visit. Fox End did all that and more. The location was perfect both in its proximity to London and in terms of all the great pubs and things to do in the surrounding area. The house itself is perfect. Every room is extremely comfortable, different and so beautiful designed and thought through - we really couldn't have been cosier! It really was the perfect place for our weekend away and I would thoroughly recommend it for groups of friends or families alike. Trip of a lifetime

For  a year my mother, three sisters and I have looked forward to our visit to the Cotswolds in England.  With that much advance planning comes a lot of expectations. I have to say that Fox End far exceeded anything that we could have hoped for!   As we pulled up to the cottage ( I say that loosely as it is quite large) there was an audible gasp and squeal from all of us!  It took our breath away!  It was something out of a storybook--a beautiful old stone cottage complete with a thatched roof, surrounded by incredible flower gardens.   The interior of the home belonged in a magazine. It was immaculate, charming and cozy. A seamless design blend of old and new.  Absolutely stunning!  The kitchen was furnished with everything you would need. The bedrooms had plenty of storage and shelving for personal items and clothing. It was obvious that the owners had thought of everything. The bedding was over the top, with Italian linens and down comforters.  We felt totally pampered!   Every morning we would rush to the windows to watch the cows being moved to other pastures and to see horses cantering down the lane. The home is situated in the countryside yet only a mile or two from incredible restaurants and pubs, as well as gourmet shops and a spa.   Much to see in all the surrounding villages and everything is convenient and close.  The owner left a booklet that gives suggestions of places to visit and recommendations for eating.   It's very much a family friendly home with a trampoline and large yard and a playroom filled with toys and games. The perfect Cotswold retreat

Three generations of our family spent two happy weeks at Fox End.  It rained solidly for the first week but nevertheless we were quite content enjoying the beauty and comfort of the house, which is stocked with every possible amusement for children and adults.  Happily the sun shone for the second week and we loved the garden, the swing and all the outdoor children’s toys.  The surrounding area is packed with things to do ranging from walks and stone circles to historic houses and gardens - and of course the beautiful Cotswold villages and towns.  Sezincote, Chastleton House, Batsford Falconry Centre and Arboretum and Bourton-on-the-Water to name some very local treats...Fox End is right in the centre of it all, yet in a peaceful hamlet.  The house feels private with views on all sides and everything beautifully maintained with helpful instructions make it all very easy.  Thank you for being such super hosts – please may we come back for another stay?”

Fox End is Perfect for any Age

Whether a couple, a group of friends, or a family with children, Fox End is the perfect home in the perfect spot in the Cotswolds. The description in the listing is completely accurate, yet we were stilled awed at how lovely it was when we drove up and entered this paradise. The owners have exquisite taste, and everything is in brand new condition. They have seen to all needs, right down to spare wellies for walking the footpaths and toys for children. Cannot think of a single thing we woold have added. We spent time enjoying the cottage, enjoying the sheep next door who come right up to the kitchen window. My daughter was disappointed that the sheep and little lambs wouldn't let her pet them. She is 23, so... She was mollified by the gardens, reading in the family room, and her santuary in the third floor bedroom under the eves, with en suite bath. Her own bath saved any vacation strife!!! The owners have compiled an extensive list of things to do, see, places to eat, palaces, things for children, and the best "Farm Market", yet so much more with even a spa, that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. A complete surprise and wonderful morning was spent at the Birds of Prey Sanctuary at the Batsford Arboretum, just 20 minutes from the house. We drove no more than 45 minutes for any sight and had more to do than we could possibly accomplish in a week. A car is a must, and Americans will need to get used to driving SLOWLY on one or one and a half lane roads. Someone always moves to the side to let the other pass, and we quickly acclimated to the left side of the road. All in all, amazingly thoughtful hosts and highly recommended. C. Shimp, Virginia, USA”
