April 2026Otherwordly Experience
My family of 4 booked this safari lodge as a splurge while we were traveling through Africa. It was a stretch for us with the extra fees, but we thought to give it a try with having 2 younger children (ages 7 and 10). We didn't end up taking advantage of the full package with 2 game drives a day as that would have just been too much for the kids. We chose to spend more time relaxing in the gorgeous house, decompressing, playing games, and listening to the sounds of the wild. The housekeeper was so kind and took great care of the home for us. The food was delicious at the restaurant and the owners even arranged for some meals to be brought to the house. The safari was okay. With it being a private reserve and not really the right time of year, we didn't see abundant animal wildlife. There were days where we would drive around and hardly see anything. We also weren't able to take advantage of the rhino walk or the overnight in the bush since kids have to be at least 12. Other guests at the property said that was a highlight and even got to see lions by being out late. All in all, it was a great experience at a spectacular, relaxing and well-appointed home.”
