Description

Sea-View Home on Formentera’s Southern Shore

Tucked away on the serene southern coast of Formentera, this refined Mediterranean summer residence offers a tasteful balance of authentic character and understated elegance.

Originally designed in 1971 by Düsseldorf architect Klaus Wülfing, the home retains its original island soul while providing a comfortable, well-appointed retreat for up to seven guests. A central open courtyard anchors the 120-square-metre layout, inviting natural light and sea-scented air into every corner. The open-plan kitchen flows seamlessly into a dining area and a cosy living room with a fireplace, spaces conceived for unhurried mornings and lingering evenings.

The sleeping quarters are thoughtfully arranged. A spacious master suite features a king-size bed, ample storage, and a private bath. A second en-suite bedroom with three single beds offers ideal flexibility for family or friends, while a third, more intimate bedroom with a queen-size bed sits adjacent to a convenient toilet. Beyond the interiors, an outdoor shower with sea views awaits, an invigorating ritual after a day spent exploring Formentera’s legendary coastline.

The outdoor haven extends across a shared 8,000-square-metre fenced estate, where a large pool and sun-drenched terraces invite quiet relaxation. From the main terrace, alfresco dining unfolds against a sweeping seascape. Hammocks sway in shaded garden corners, and the rooftop terrace provides an elevated perch for evening contemplation, with Es Vedrà rising from the sea off Ibiza’s coast.

Unspoiled beaches lie a ten-minute drive or bike ride away, while the village of San Francisco is just five minutes from the door. A small, owner-operated shop is within easy walking distance. Casa Wülfing is a peaceful, tastefully appointed haven, an elegant interpretation of island living.
