Currawong House | Mountain Views and Trail Access
Highlights:
• Ride directly onto Warburton’s mountain bike trails
• Deck views of Mt Tugwell and Mt Bride
• Ten minutes from Warburton Redwood Forest
Set above the township of Warburton, Currawong House commands views across Mt Little Joe, Mt Tugwell and Mt Bride. The three-bedroom home offers exclusive use for up to six guests, placing the forests, river and cycling trails of the Upper Yarra Valley within easy reach.
Vaulted timber ceilings bring warmth and character to the split-level living spaces, where the lounge, dining area and open kitchen flow naturally together. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the room, complemented by reverse-cycle heating and cooling, a Smart LG television and soundbar. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave and several coffee-making options, while doors open toward the deck and its mountain outlook.
The primary bedroom features a king bed and private ensuite, while the second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom is arranged with a double-and-single bunk, making it well suited to families or riding groups. Premium mattresses and hotel-quality linens enhance each room, while a main bathroom with separate bath and shower and an additional powder room provide practical comfort.
The large deck is designed for relaxed afternoons overlooking the surrounding peaks, with a Weber barbecue and outdoor dining for six. Mountain bikers benefit from secure storage for up to six bicycles, e-bike charging stations, a workshop, bike-washing facilities and a mudroom for outdoor gear. The property is also dog-friendly, subject to its pet conditions.
Guests can ride directly onto Warburton’s trail network or continue to Ride Warburton Bike Park and the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail. The township and Yarra River are a downhill walk from the house, while the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail, Warburton Redwood Forest and Mount Donna Buang invite further exploration. After a day outdoors, Currawong House offers an inviting place to gather by the fire or watch the evening light settle across the mountains.
Important Information:
Currawong House occupies a steep, sloping block and is reached by numerous steps. The split-level interior also contains steps between the living and bedroom areas, making the property unsuitable for wheelchair access. The walk into Warburton is downhill, with a steep return that may not suit guests with limited mobility or very young children.
Dogs are welcome for an additional cleaning fee but must not be left unattended or permitted on furniture or beds. Guests travelling with dogs should confirm current fencing details before arrival.
There is no outdoor firepit due to the property’s forested setting and local bushfire risk. Snow on Mount Donna Buang varies by season and is not guaranteed.
