Marriot Hacienda, Sea of Cortex/Cabo

We enjoyed the 7day stay at Hacienda Del Mar! Some highlights: Suite furnishings a little dated but clean, roomy, and view was amazing. The resort staff was great and accommodation was spot on. We used the provided RT shuttle service with no issues. We used UBER several times to go to dinners and downtown Cabo/Marina several times (15min drive, ~$12 ea way). We opted out of the resort all inclusive since we wanted to explore surrounding areas. Meals/Drink prices were a little pricey as you'd expect at a resort, so if we did not go out and planned to drink and eat a lot during the day $200/person a day may have been worth it. ~$10 a beer, $18 cocktails. 15% gratuity is added to every bill. Pools, beach, grounds, views were excellent! We would go back. Marriot is putting a lot back into this resort. Enjoy!”

We have been going to Hacienda Del Mar for 25 years & love the low key , Mexican atmosphere. Sitting by the pool watching whales & luxurious yachts pass by all day Now that the Four Seasons & Hyatt have been completed on both sides of Hacienda del Mar as well as the Anima shopping center in Cabo Del Sol , this location is fabulous...only 15 minutes to downtown Cabo”

Hacienda Del Mar - Christmas 2025

Overall, a beautiful resort. One of its strongest qualities is the location and the swimmable beach, which is a huge plus. Many resorts along the Sea of Cortez between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas do not have swimmable beaches due to the rocky shoreline, so this really sets it apart. Beach is a solid 10 out of 10. Service was just average, which felt on par for an all inclusive property. That said, the food and drinks were great, and everyone was very friendly. The room was very spacious, with two full bathrooms and a separate living room and kitchen from the bedroom. While the rooms are due for an update, they were comfortable and functional overall. ”

One of the nicest resorts I have stayed at

Hacienda Del Mar was amazing. It was designed around multiple pools instead of one big pool. No mater the condo you are in, the view of an amazing courtyard is there giving the resort a smaller more private feeling. But the resort is far from small, it has the huge hotel onsite along with hundreds of villas. Beautiful beach, great friendly staff.. can not say enough nice things. Must see. ”

Great Property, Rooms are Dated

Great property! Pools and grounds are very nice. Need to be very carful at check in. The room we were promised was not available, and we received a lot of push back on getting a new room. After a day and a half, we were able to change. Bait and Switch based on the pictures on the website. Room furnishings are also dated.”

Mostly Disappointed

The pros: this resort is near town. It’s easy to get around on and off the resort. The staff is kind, as well. But our unit was extremely well worn, the beds were awful, Pool service was practically nonexistent and getting a pool chair was a real challenge. I’m very much a “make lemonade” person, but I can’t recommend this resort—especially to people accustomed to THIRDHOME level quality. ”

Early Spring Vacation

The property is absolutely gorgeous on the exterior and grounds. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pools and beach are beautiful. Interior furnishings need updating, particularly the uncomfortable living room seating choices. Beds are comfortable. Limited English language TV choices in comparison to other resorts. Televisions very outdated and poor quality screens. Food and drinks were good, but pricing was very high- encouraging people to take the all-inclusive package. For the size of the resort, dining choices are limited. Pricing for a shuttle into Cabo is very reasonable, though. ”

Great location, staff, and service

The location is amazing and it was whale season! We loved our stay and the staff made it all the better. Benjamin at Tortugas, Arturo the bell hop, Oscar at Tomates and so many more. We can't wait to go back! ”

Decent place to stay in Cabo

This is afflicted with the Sheraton Resort so it is comparable to a three to four star rating. It is definitely not a relaxing .resort feel. Perhaps it was the time of year in which we went (end of March) but, lounge chairs by the pool or beach were hard to come by. Vendors are aplenty on the beach and the Sheraton will not issue towels unless you give them a room key. The Sheraton resort tries to sell you a meal plan prior to your arrival. We did not buy the meal plan and we were glad we didn't as the food was marginal. ”
