Thanks to the warm Gulf Stream currents and trade winds, the islands of The Bahamas are blessed with a semi-tropical climate. Typical temperatures range from 70° to 80° fahrenheit. Rarely does it climb above 90°F on a midsummer’s day or fall below 60°F on a winter’s night, and water temperatures range from the low 80’s in the summer to about mid 70’s in winter.

Pool Heater in the winter months (for $0.5 / kwh)

We were excited for our Bahamas vacation. I was a bit nervous because after 3 emails to the owner it was 9 days until arrival and he did not provide property entry information. I called a Third Home representative and the received an email with codes for entry to the development and the gate. The email was sent via a means where I could not reply or ask for the fourth time the few questions regarding pool toys and other important details about the property. We brought a beef tenderloin roast with us from Costco. Much to our surprise the oven was dismantled. I was amazed that the property owner did not contact us in advance regarding this little detail. Not to worry, we could cook the roast on the mini-grill. Uh-oh... out of propane. When you have a 7 day vacation with 2 travel days it is really a 5 day vacation so every day is precious. We arrived at 4:00 PM and realized dinner would not be at home. We spent our next day cleaning the propane tank so we could load it in the car for the 1 hour trip to have it refilled, the to the grocery store to have the 5 empty gallon bottle exchanged and buy paper towels and toilet paper. If anyone ever sees the non-existent private beach, please let me know. We heard the owner was in town a few doors down but he never made contact. I give it 2 stars...one for the view and one for the location. I was not going to write a review but decided I owe it to other Third Home members to set some expectations straight. ”
