Description

Chateau St. Philippe

Enjoy the quintessential French lifestyle in this majestic chateau! With a rich and storied history, this magical villa invites you in through its arched doorway to a gorgeous estate that will blow your mind. With ten bedrooms, 13000 square feet of living space, and a vast, 17 acres of privately gated land, this stunning French getaway abounds in luxury and natural beauty.

Chateau St. Philippe was originally built as a priory by Benedictine monks in 1032 – 1033. In 1828, the priory was transformed into a gorgeous chateau by Barron Charles-Albert Favier du Noyer. After an extensive renovation, the chateau changed hands three times before it found its way to its current owner. The castle has been completely restored, preserving its architectural integrity while bringing a modern charm to its atmosphere.

The villa is filled with spacious, light-filled living spaces, all designed to bring the maximum level of comfort and luxury to guests. Spend cooler evenings lounging on upscale sofas in front of radiating hearths, surrounded by the opulence and fine art of an authentic French chateau. The art in this home is truly exquisite, bringing a unique flavor to each and every living space. The farmhouse kitchen features gourmet appliances and everything you’ll need for the master chef of the group to whip up something delicious – or hire a personal chef for the night and let them take care of dinner for you!

With ten magnificent bedrooms, each guest will find more than enough space to relax and pamper them after a long day exploring the French countryside. Three bedrooms feature king-sized beds, six offer queens, and the final bedroom has two twin-sized beds. Each room is designed in a charming, rustic manner, and each bed is covered with lavish linens and bedding that’s sure to soothe you straight to sleep.

Sprawling across 17-acres of natural beauty, you’ll never tire of the incredible landscapes surrounding this chateau. Stroll through the property and discover apple, cherry, and lilac trees, blackberry bushes, and plenty of aromatic plants and flowers. The sight and the sound of water cascading from the mountains above will create a lovely backdrop to your evening as you take in the sunset against the French Alps. The chateau’s east and south facing terraces are the perfect spots for an alfresco meal or aperitif, taking in lush vineyard views as you do.

In addition to the Chateau’s authentic and historic ambiance, guests will love exploring the recently renovated caves. The entry level offers a bar, comfortable seating area, and access to the Chateau’s lower garden, along with two spacious additional levels. Here, you can host a formal dinner, casual lunch, or host an evening of music and dancing. An authentic wine press sits in the heart of the lower level.

During your time in the French countryside, your days will be filled with the activities that typify French living. Head to town and explore local bakeries, cheese shops, and charming open-air markets. Excellent shopping and restaurants opportunities can be found in the surrounding villages – peruse through local boutiques and dine on tasty French dishes, all set against a breathtaking backdrop of the French Alps!

Filled with natural splendor and historic elegance, you’ll feel like a true French monarch at this authentic chateau!

Once upon a time... in the Chateau St.Philippe

This is one of the reasons why it was worth it to join ThirdHome: it was the perfect backdrop for our annual summer extended family reunion in a magic place that has almost 1,000 years of history. While it was built in the 11th Century, each room blended historic charm with confort. The owners did a great job of restoration while respecting the original layout and preserving its majestic presence. The spacious living areas were perfect for our large family to gather, whether for lively dinners in the grand dining room or cozy evenings at the home theater or fun family time at the game room with karaoke, board games and even a pool table... The grounds of the Chateau are nothing short of spectacular. We spent our days exploring the nearby charming villages in the Savoie, in the French Alps, and cooling off in the heated pool in the evenings. What truly set Chateau St.Philippe apart was the impeccable hospitality and attention to detail from the staff, specially Remi, incredibly accommodating, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was seamless. Chateau St. Philippe is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience that brings people together and creates lasting memories. We left with our hearts full and a unanimous desire to return. Thank you for an unforgettable summer holiday!”

Amazing Chateau

The pictures do not even do justice to this magnificent property. The interior is stunning and still practical. Remi the property manager is fantastic. The location is close to multiple towns in the Savoie region. We were able to drive to Annency, Chambery, Chamonix and Geneva. Took a train into Paris. Overall amazing family vacation and hope to return again.”
