*Owner recommends accessing this property in a four wheel drive car*

This beautiful, custom-built 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2,900 sq. ft. home is set on 11 private acres in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos Mountains. The property is in the exclusive Turley Mill Subdivision nestled against National Forest land. 20 minutes from the ski valley and 20 minutes from the town of Taos, this home is the perfect combination of tranquility and accessibility.

The large living room boasts huge vigas that span its width and an inviting fireplace as its focus. Dish network on the flat screen television and WiFi Internet access complete the modern amenities of this residence.

The fully equipped gourmet kitchen has all the amenities you'll need for a lovely dinner around the massive dining table that easily sits 10 people.

The master bedroom contains a custom made king size cherry wood bed, directly under a huge window that looks out onto the Sangre de Cristos Mountains. There are sweeping views out towards the Rio Grande gorge and high plains from the other side on this approx 800 sq. ft. second floor suite. Radiant heat under saltillo tiles and an antique desk complete this lovely room. A tub/shower combination and two sinks with beautiful blue accents and hand made wrought iron fixtures combine to complete the atmosphere in private ensuite bath.

A four poster queen size bed nestles into the fully decorated second bedroom with custom matching curtains, roman shade, bed spread and pillows. A set of twin beds in the third bedroom is beautifully adorned with wooden headboards, shades of blues and browns with bright cardinals on the duvet covers, and sumptuous Palais Royal sheets. The guest bathroom also has wrought iron fixtures made locally with spacious counter space and cozy towels.

A lush courtyard garden leads you to the entrance to the house and the flagstone patio which runs the length of the house and has a wood burning fireplace as well as a BBQ.

Taos is an unique community set on a high plain at the base of the Sangre de Cristos Mountain range, which is the tail end of the Rocky Mountains. Just 40 miles south of Colorado, the Taos Ski Valley has world class skiing and snow boarding. Every conceivable outdoor sport is at your disposal. Go biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing or simply relax in this beautiful arid setting.

The Taos Pueblo is one of the most unique and ancient of the pueblos with a rich history and an unbroken legacy of continuous occupation by the native Indians. The unique history of this town ranges from cowboys like Kit Carson, to Spainards who occupied this territory and artists who created Utopian communities in the early 1800's. The strong presence of all of these influences is still felt today. Explore and enjoy historic homes, extensive art galleries, great shopping, amazing cuisine, numerous festivals and the unbelievable physical beauty of this lovely town!

"A Very Special Place"

We returned to the Sangre de Cristo Foothill Retreat for a 2nd stay for our summer family getaway. Our holiday in this lovely home was as exceptional as our first visit in February 2020. Summer in the Taos valley is beautiful, and the the home is ideal to enjoy everything Taos has to offer. Stellar sunrises and sunsets, a kitchen for all to become "chefs and sous chefs", great indoor and outdoor space, well-appointed decor, and so relaxing after a day of hiking, biking, and gallery hopping. All the comforts of home! The owner Jeppe, and caretaker Barbara are immediately available for all of your needs and want. Thanks so much from all of us!!!!”
