Description

The Original Eagles Nest

The Original Eagles Nest is located a short drive from downtown Banner Elk, which is a destination on its own! In Banner Elk, North Carolina you'll find a mountain playground like no other. Here, each season brings with it something spectacular. The springtime is ablaze with wildflowers, the summers are cool and inviting, fall's foliage is absolutely stunning, and the snows of winter transform these mountains into a picturesque winter wonderland.

The Original Eagles Nest is a stunning 20 acre, 2 home inspired mountain retreat in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The estate features The Arrowhead Lodge and The Eagle Eye Cabin. The homes are connected by wooden boardwalk for easy, convenient access and the estate offers some of the best sunsets Banner Elk has to offer!

The Arrowhead Lodge features 2500 square feet, 3 suites, each with their own full bath, 2 indoor fireplaces and steam showers. There is a spacious kitchen open to the richly decorated living and dining area, large deck and outdoor dining area, 6 person hot tub and fire pit. The Arrowhead cabin is great for a close family as most of the house is connected, with drapes separating the master bedroom from the main hallway and living area.

The Eagle Eye Cabin is a totally open authentic tree house cabin, offering 1700 square feet, 3 king-sized beds, huge master bath with jetted tub and shower, kitchenette, upstairs loft with its own full bath and balcony, expansive wrap-around deck with outdoor dining and gas grill, gym and yoga room. Please note that because of the open design of this cabin it does not have air-conditioning.

This picturesque and breathtaking property was the creative inspiration for The Lodges at Eagles Nest, a world-renowned 1,350 acre resort created by legendary designer/developer John Turchin and The Turchin Companies, widely considered the most unique private mountain community in The Blue Ridge Mountains.

An ideal fit for families of all shapes and sizes, The Original Eagles Nest comes complete with hiking trails, a lovely trout pond perfect for fishing on those lazy summer days, a rushing mountain stream to play in, access to indoor gym/yoga room, and plenty of outdoor space everyone can enjoy! The homes overlook a lush pasture, barn, and fruit trees that make up this unique mountain vacation rental. Guests are encouraged to bring their own horses, and have access to the barn, stables and pasture for an additional fee. Manicured landscaping and flowers in Spring and Summer, brilliant multi-colored leaves in the Fall, and tranquil snow cover in the Winter are a true pleasure to observe. This picturesque mountain escape features all that the North Carolina High Country has to offer without ever having to leave the property!

Each season is perfect for outdoor recreation, but there is much more to do here than simply enjoy the splendor of nature. There are also a variety of festivals, community events, upscale shops, and gourmet restaurants to enjoy in this quaint town. Boasting various performing arts centers, theaters, galleries and museums within an easy driving distance, the area showcases internationally recognized artists and performances including Broadway shows, dance ensembles, opera companies and concerts from classical to bluegrass. In Banner Elk, you'll able to enjoy a lifestyle that is unrivaled by that of any other location! In addition, the nearby towns of Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, Grandfather Mountain and Boone add to the unique flavor and sophisticated country charm of the area!

Banner Elk Get Away

The Original Eagles Nest was an adventurous destination. It is very private and has a great dedicated driveway winding to the property. The Arrowhead Cabin is rustic and original with very eclectic decor. Full size cutouts of Marilyn Monroe and JFK really put it in a class of its own. Definitely an old-world feel mixed with farm house vibe. The home had a beautiful view of the mountainside that was visited by deer every morning when we woke up. We even had a bear family of 5 visit the gala apple tree in the front yard. The Arrowhead cabin is great for a close family because most of the house is connected with drapes separating the master bedroom from the main hallway and living area. The Eagle Eye cabin was more of a luxury feel and had an amazing front porch with natural beams and half wrap around with a view that is second to none in Banner Elk. There is no air conditioning in the Eagle Eye cabin, so plan accordingly or be ready for a little bit of adventure. Overall, the property has a great vibe and makes a great weekend getaway or a full week of relaxation. We will come back to this relaxing getaway soon! ”

This was my first time using my keys for a property and I must say that I was not impressed with the property. The area was very nice and using the keys was very easy. The property provided everything you needed, but it was not well kept. The manager was very helpful by making sure we had what we needed. The main home(The Arrowhead Lodge) had very little privacy for the Master Bedroom. There were spider webs all over, dusty in certain areas, and some glasses were not clean. The Eagle Eye Cabin was nice, newer and was clean, but it did not have A/C. We tried to stay there, but it was too hot and not private enough for three couples. Great for a family. We had to cut our stay short because of hurricane Florence and we were really happy to do so.”
