August 2021Wonderful stay!
Staying at the Four Seasons in Costa Rica in this residence is just amazing! We really loved the apartment, which is really well-sized and well-located inside the resort. As you can expect from Four Seasons, the service is impacable, but in Costa Rica people are even nicer than anywhere else in the world. Papagayo Peninsula really is a special place within the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Its terrain and views are really beautiful and the different beaches are all great to stay a few hours. On the Peninsula and outside the Peninsula there are enough activities to have a great week. We stayed here after travelling four weeks through Costa Rica and we could not have ended better. Both us and our kids really enjoyed our stay and want to thank the owner for letting us stay in this beautiful gem. ”

June 2021Exceptional!
We greatly appreciated the hospitality of our host. The residence well exceeds the ThirdHome description and is part of select residences that were renovated simultaneously with the hotel's rooms; some other residences are older and some are slightly less refined from an interior design perspective. All appeared lovely, yet this residence clearly was atop them all. It was lovely being close to the Lobby, pools, and beaches. The coordinating team (chief among them being Ms. Jasmine Rivas) was wonderful and highly informative prior to arrival; groceries and additional services were only an e-mail away before and during our trip. The Covid test was administered in the unit by a trained medical professional; results were provided within hours. Recommendations on-site would be: (1) the spa has lovely cold and hot plunge pools to enjoy prior to treatments (they can also be used without spa services, but they do require advance notice); (2) the hotel offers extensive calendared activities from health, dance, sport and cooking classes, wine and rum tastings; all appealed to the rest of my group (I was too lazy to leave the comforts of the beaches - the tamarind margarita was a lovely discovery btw), as did the kayak, biking, and hiking tours (again, lazy me!). All returned rave reviews. As for food, no specific recommendation to share as every meal we had and item tried, was really great. If you crave something, do not hesitate to ask because they will certainly make it. In fact, at Bahia Restaurant, upon request they served us one of the best whole fried fish with coconut rice and beans that we have ever had. Give it a try. All the hotel, pool, beach, and water sports staff were great - I have a long list of names that will be shared with FSeasons separately. We opted to rent a large Land Cruiser for the week as we anticipated a couple trips off property. In hindsight, we should have coordinated transfers to and from the airport directly with the resort (they have a fleet of Expeditions that do nothing but that) and coordinating a day or two of a rental at needed times during our trip. It would have been much more comfortable. For those that like to cook and drink certain wines (I obviously do, haha), my last suggestion would be to utilize the provisioning services for the arrival essentials to get you through the night and morning - i.e. coffee and water - then head back into Liberia to experience the town. Head in after a very lite breakfast, search for a small restaurant named Mariajuana (it's Maria's play on what would normally jump to mind) and enjoy a lovely lunch in a highly regarded restaurant that serves really great food (I had shrimp and rice, my husband had the cordon blue, and we both ordered several additional sides of beans.) Afterward, just a few steps nearby is a grocery store (drawing a blank on the name at the moment, but it is inside the same complex so you park once for all). I found this offered numerous better options in American product, wines, rums, etc. than the typical go-to: Walmart. Lastly, for those that are not aware, all Four Seasons properties now have a chat system through the app that is available on your phone. This is usually before, during, and after ones trips as it allows you to communicate whenever, wherever with the respective property. I recommend it in general as it is very useful. Hope this was helpful. Rest assured, we will be back and you will too!”
