March 2024Quiet but beautiful
Very beautiful furnishings and interior, but important you like being away from town. It’s not easy to get to town from this resort besides taking the free shuttle to the sister hotel. Not a ton of food options at the resort either but what is there is very good!”

July 2024Nice stay at Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes
It’s a beautiful new resort. Room is fantastic (as has been said in the listing for some reason they call all of these rooms “penthouses” which everywhere else is top floor by here seem to be just any of the 2 bedrooms (we were on the third floor)). Very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and nice living room and a huge balcony with a big L shaped couch a table and chairs and a couple of loungers. The lagoon pool with slides, rope swing etc is very cool for a resort property. There are a few downsides of the resort just to keep in mind - most of these I knew going in so not a surprise. Firstly it is far away from everything - so it’s a bad place to use as a base to do things in Cabo. They do offer the shuttle to the other resort which does help but it just adds time to everything and it won’t drop you anywhere other than the other resort so you still need to walk or Uber to everything else. You also can’t use the facilities at the other resort (other than restaurants if you pay like anyone else). They don’t allow Uber pickups at the hotel (you can get dropped off though) and they have grossly inflated price for taxi’s to the airport so make sure you book a private transfer as it’s much cheaper than what they charge for a taxi from the resort. It’s also very windy where the resort is so I think at cooler times of the year it would be too cold here. We went in late June so it was very pleasant but significantly cooler than downtown Cabo - probably a good thing when coming in the summer but winter time I would reconsider staying here. They have a couple pickelball courts which is nice but it is so windy that it is really hard to play and they charge you extra to use them. Cost us almost $50 USD for an hour including paddles - never stayed at a resort that charges you to use the courts (the court rental alone was ~$20/hr). I might come back at the right time and with plans to be a mostly relaxing at the resort. ”

June 2024Grand Solar The Residences - 2 BR penthouse
It was fine. The room was well appointed and clean but unfortunately, smelled of mildew and wetness. The service was fine. The pools were nice but pool service and food service at the pools was slow. Fun pools to play in for the kids. We did not play golf while there so can not comment on the course. It was very busy in the lobby Saturday for check in and check out and the process seemed very slow and clunky. The overwhelming downer for the property was the food. The prices were seriously as high as I have seen anywhere around the world, if not higher (rack of lamb was about $100) but the problem was...it wasn't even close to the food quality we have grown to love in Cabo over the years. I wouldn't complain about the prices if the food matched but it was so bad, we literally sent 3 dishes back. Stay there, eat elsewhere, and you should be fine. ”

May 2024Grand Solmar PACIFIC DUNES
Lovely remote property and location. Great staff especially bellmen. Food surprisingly good. Would only stay here again unless I checked weather and the wind forecast was good. We could not go out in gale-force winds and had to ride the shuttle 30min to Solmar LANDS END near marina for warmth. EXCELLENT restaurant close to hotel - Picaro and highly recommend for foodies.”

May 2024Jd
The penthouse two bedroom was beautiful. Very spacious and super nice. The resort , Solmar Pacific Dunes, was a beautiful resort and one of the best maintained and cleanest resorts I have ever gone to. I would not recommend going in early May like we did. It is very out in the open and exposed to the Pacific Ocean so it was incredibly windy and cold! It was so windy that we could not do much of anything ! We luckily were able to use the free shuttle to get to the other Solmar sister resorts nearby, which were in Cabo and more secluded so it was at least 15 degrees warmer and no wind there. We probably just went during wrong time of year, but we had no idea of that issue . The food is incredible, the pools and facilities are super nice. Just unfortunate about the cold and wind! ”

April 2024Very Nice Place!
The Grand Solmar Residences are very nice and spacious. The unit was huge and almost brand new. There was some confusion on finding the hotel, as it is so new, many places in town do not know exactly where it is- we first went to the Grand Solmar near lands end, and the lady who worked there gave me incorrect direction to this location? We drove a rent a car, so if you take an airport shuttle it will be easier, but you will be stuck at the resort, as there is nothing within walking distance. However they do have a shuttle to downtown, which we did not use but seems like a good option. The resort is beautiful, very spread-out and very new. As of April 2024 there was construction going on, but it was far enough away to not interfere with out stay. Food was pretty good and the service was great. They are trying to sell timeshares, or something, like most places in Cabo, but we were able to do our own thing and avoid that area. The pool, water slides and lagoon area is huge, and is great for families. They do not allow swimming at the beach! Fiesta night was fun, and overall the staff were friendly. Hope you have a great stay!”

March 2024Excellent Resort in Los Cabos
Grand Solmar Residences is a great Resort. It has excellent common areas, saltwater and freshwater pools, as well as adults-only pools and slides for the kids. The three-bedroom apartment is quite new, very well equipped, with luxury furniture and finishes. Recommendations: (1) Check the weather carefully and don't forget to bring sweaters if you're visiting during months other than June, July, and August. The place is very windy. (2) Rent a car to explore Los Cabos, go to the supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants outside the resort. There are few dining options inside, and prices at restaurants and bars are too high. (3) There is a very good convenience store where you can find the basics, but still, renting a car is highly recommended. ”

March 2024First Class Property

February 2024Great Escape
We love our stays at the Residences Pacific Dunes. A little for everyone with great kids pool area and adult activities or quiet seclusion for adults in additional pools if wanted. The large suites with open large main living greatroom/kitchen and large wrap around patio are why we love this place. Watched whales from our balcony every day. There is a daily resort service fee and a 10% service fee added to every meal/drinks bill.”

February 2024Relaxing and Peaceful stay in Cabo!
After a little maintenance issue we were moved to a newer room in building J. the room was beautiful. Perfect view of the beach and ocean. Overall I think the food and drinks could be a lot better. I would never consider the all inclusive unless you could eat at Anica for all meals. The Pizza we ordered by the pool had to be a frozen one - it was that bad! Property is very clean! - We were right next to a new building going up but it did not bother us at all. Did the presentation to learn about the property, was very helpful not to pushy. Would defiantly go back just would eat elsewhere!”

The room was 5 star. All inclusive ended with dinner cause they have no nightlife there. 4 small pools and only 1 swim up bar. It was a half hour to go to the town of Cabo”

February 2024Desert splendour
Hugely relaxing, warm and wonderful. It’s tipping with rain at home and here we have had blue skies every day. The apartment is vast. The bed are comfortable and the cleaners come every day. We’ve been into town in the shuttle. Everywhere feels super safe and the staff are great. There is a fifth or sixth building going up with a bit of banging and buzzing but there’s plenty of places to go that are peaceful. The deli does a great cocktail Happy Hour. So if you are wanting to do very little but read swim sunbathe walk this place is perfect. Absolutely no crowds….”

February 2024Beautiful Paradise Stay!
Cabo san Lucas is a beautiful place to visit but to stay at the Grand Solmar makes it that much more of a memorable experience. We loved all the different pool areas and how there were adult only more secluded ones as well as more lively pools with waterslides (which we determined we were not to old to try!). The food was absolutely spectacular at the resort. From the classic Eggs Benedict at Anita to the Asian themed dinner the other Bacari, there were so many delicious options to choose from! The staff was beyond exceptional, especially the activities directors, where we participated in the push up contest and winning a bottle of tequila! The only let down was the noise we heard from construction on a new building that was to the slight right of our room. Also, regarding the rooms, it is a little misleading to say we had a penthouse yet we were only on the second floor and most the rooms in our building all looked like ours (the penthouse). In the photo's of our room, it showed an unobstructed view which looked like a rooftop but was blocked by a building so we did not have a clear ocean view. All in all I recommend this stay to anyone, just make clear about the room details and if there is construction within eye view. Thank you Grand Solmar, we will be back!”

February 2024Beautiful resort
This is the second time staying at this resort, This unit is beautiful. Lots of room, beautiful views. Service at the pool was very good as well. Only downside is the construction can be noisy during the day. Overall great stay!”

February 2024Fabulous beachfront location
The property is outside the regular hotel zone on the Pacific coast. It is located on a fabulous quiet beach that allows for hours of solitary walking. For the duration of our stay the beach was not safe for swimming due to huge waves and undertow. This could be the norm. The unit was fine and in good repair although it lacked an inside dining table, dishwasher and laundry facilities. The kitchen was not particularly well equipped but was fine for preparing breakfasts and simple meals. The choices for eating on site were very limited and overpriced. The few meals that we had took over an hour to get and arrived cold. The hotel does offer an all inclusive package which would make sense if you don't plan to venture off the property. The poolside bars/restaurants seemed understaffed and there were numerous complaints from hungry and thirsty guests who were waiting for service. There's quite a bit of walking to get around the property. Unlike many resorts that offer golf cart service it was not offered or in evidence while we were there. All in all our stay was unremarkable and we will choose a different resort next time.”

February 2024Beautiful Resort at Pacific Dunes
Beautiful resort on the Pacific side of Cabo with a golf course. From pre-arrival to departure wonderful service. This is NOT the Land's End property next to Cabo harbor, but about 7 miles north by the golf course and much more quiet. The Grand Solmar provides a free shuttle service between the two resorts and the Land's End is within walking distance to the harbor. There is also a free golf cart service within the resort; which worked out great because one of our guests had a twisted ankle. The resort is spread out, but not too far to walk everywhere. Pre-Arrival: Guest services will send offers for a meal plan, golf reservations, and spa packages. Note: if you are willing to sit through their sales presentation (Not Required, professional and not hard sell), then the golf prices will drop in half along with other deals. All of these deals require USD Cash. Their ATM fee on property is about 10% and only USD. The entire Cabo area wants USD, therefore bring plenty of cash. Property and Room: Beautiful accommodations; almost 3000 sq ft room, Daily maid service and they wash the dishes. No dishwasher or washer / dryer. WiFi throughout the resort. 2.5 mbs. About 5 restaurants on property with a different theme every night. Pool bars have "Happy Hours" 11:00 to Noon and 4:00 to 5:00. Spa services are very nice. Recommendations: Grocery delivery service: pricklypearcabo.com (we did a pre-arrival arrangement) Transportation to / from airport: allwayscabotransportation.com (less expensive than Grand Solmar offers) Dinner Cruise offered by sales staff, Not Recommended. It was more of a party boat with bland food and drinks and there are better options.”

December 2023Great property with lots of amenities.
The two bedroom penthouse was very nice. Lots of room. Very well furnished, the beds are very comfortable and the a/c was perfect ( very important for my wife). The resort is big and has several pools, service was also on point. If you golf you will love the Greg Norman golf course. The property is away from town and the marina about 25 minutes. We rented a car so it was not an issue. The off-site restaurant that's on the property about 1/2 mile away is Picaro, has a great ocean view and is great for a nice adult dinner to see the Sunset. The Hotel shuttle will take you. The only two issues we had is that there are not enough restaurants on site and they are still building so we were next to construction noise. It was an issue when we sat outside. The property is still growing I get it just wish we were another 100 yards away. Other than that it's a great property very very nice and big. You will be asked to go to a time share meeting we were not interested so just no. We booked to go back a second time. ”

December 20222 Weeks in Paradise
We had a 2 week stay and really enjoy Cabo. This community is associated with a couple of other resorts and we were able to utilize the amenities there as well. The location of this resort was not walking distance from downtown, but there was a shuttle to the other resort that was well located. We had a fantastic stay and choose to do the all inclusive for 4 days.”

December 2023Disappointed
Definition of a Penthouse is "top floor". Our unit was on the ground floor next to the construction zone. View was part building, part ocean, part construction site. Too noisy to sit out on the patio. We were kept awake at night and woken up with the sounds of chairs dragging from the unit above us as well the footsteps. The lagoon area was the quiet side in terms of hearing construction.. Lack of chairs poolside as the three pools that were family pools were narrow and had chairs only on one side. The adults only pool had the best seating. Only 2 restaurants on the beach side, overpriced for the small portions. Picaro was up the hill. Poolside snack bars limited menu. Location is approx a 39 minute shuttle from the lobby to their sister hotel at Lands End in Cabo. If you have young children this place is for you or if you don't want to do anything but lay by the pool (if you get a chair), this place is for you. After dark it's quiet with nothing to do but stay in your room. There was a Mexican night and two outdoor movie nights which was great for kids. The daily complimentary shuttle was welcomed.”

December 2023Clean and new; very loud construction
Lovely spot north of Cabo. The accommodation was great, cleaning daily. However very very loud construction right next to our unit from 8am to 8pm. Earthmovers and large construction crews building new condos. ”

Property was nice however we were placed in the building closest to the new construction, Building JD. The noise started at 7:00 AM and went until 5:00 Monday thru Saturday. Also there is a charge that is not disclosed called a service charge that was $19.80 US per day which is charges to non owner 3rd Home guests. The free shuttle to the sister resort if worth the trip as the Lands End resort is far superior to this resort.”

October 2023Wonderfully relaxing!!
My husband and I travelled here with another couple. The room and location were amazing! We had a completely unobstructed view of the ocean and saw whales almost every morning!! The facility was wonderful with lots of activities. There were plenty of pool areas so it never felt overly crowded at any place. We golfed one day and the course is very pretty and not overly challenging. We would definitely come back to this resort.”

July 2023Solmar Residences at Rancho San Lucas is FABULOUS
Our family stayed in a new 2 bedroom w sweeping ocean views. The golf course is fantastic. All of the staff is really friendly. The food is outstanding & they include room service in the meal package. A very relaxing end to our Cabo vacation at Solmar Residences at Rancho San Lucas! ”

June 2023Great Room. High winds
We stayed in the 2BR penthouse with another couple. Very spacious, very comfortable with great views of the ocean. The resort is new so all the finishes are nice. There were some negatives about the property. 1. High winds - rancho san Lucas is on the pacific side of the marina. We had high winds everyday which is typical apparently. Two of the more adult pools which looked great with swim up bars, we’re too windy so we took refuge at the main lagoon pool with all the kids as that pool is guarded by buildings to block the wind. I couldn’t imagine playing golf there in those winds. 2. It is a 30+ minute drive everywhere. Rancho san Lucas is outside of the downtown area so all can ride were at least 30 minutes and $40+ each way. Bring cash as you’ll need for taxis. 3 the area is continuing construction so you could hear bulldozers going in the morning. We couldn’t hear anything but our friends could hear them going each morning. 4. Bees and flies all over pool area. They would come all over you when laying out and the flies collected in the pools. They had one staff member just collecting flies off the pool constantly it was so bad. Staff was great and the rooms are nice. If you aren’t planning on golfing or laying out at adult pool, it very comfortable. For those with families, the kids all seemed to love the lagoon activities and water slides. I’d definitely say this is better for families than adults. ”
Tanya M.
June 2023Great rooms
We enjoyed our week there. The 2 bedroom is very large and comfortable. The resort is nice, with good breakfast and lunch, but I’d skip dinner there. The location made it extremely windy every day we were there so we had to avoid many of the pools by the ocean, which was unfortunate. The service is good, not great. I’d say this is a 4 star resort. ”

May 2023Beautiful resort
This is a really beautiful property. There are some things to know before you go. First, it is remote. There is an easy shuttle to take you into Cabo but know that, otherwise, you will be kind of out in the middle of nowhere. It feels desert-like, with little vegetation and color and lots of sand. We walked along the beach, although it's discouraged due to dangerous water conditions, but no one else was doing it and it wasn't that pleasant (wind!). The wind is an issue, although we were told that it was typical of May and not year-round. The pool area was protected from the wind and wonderfully comfortable and pleasant. The accommodation is beautiful..roomy, clean, great views and well-located. The kitchen is very nice, but we didn't plan ahead for groceries so we never used it. The downside is that there is only one nice restaurant and it's quiet. No live music, dancing, etc. The second restaurant site lacks character and atmosphere and was just ok at best. The food poolside is quite good. The coffee/breakfast/market was nice in the mornings. The service was very good, there was a small effort at getting us to engage in the time share tour but it wasn't uncomfortable. We would go back if we thought the wind wouldn't be an issue. ”

May 2023Ra.ncho San Lucas ( by Grande Solmar)
Beautiful, elegant, and secluded setting on the Pacific beach noth of Cabo San Lucas. ! Tthe Staff snd Service were truly caring and fun The 2 BR Penthouse was appointed with quality throughout, and maid servi was avaible twice a day. Restaurant Anica was super quality and service to match, with Enrique and Maria ( mixologist) stand out!. Did not play the the beautiful seaside dunes course due to a windy week., but had played it before and it should be on any golfers bucket list. Will play it when we return as owners next year! The real prize is that it has the beautiful garden restaurant , lPicaro, just outside the main resort entrance gate! DINED there three times and being 28 year Cabo travel veterans, we consider it one of the finest , if not the finest in the entire Baja!! A convenient 7 minute shuttle ride from the resort. We were spoiled with outstanding food and beverage service service ( truly unique preparations such as a grilled Caesar salad on toast!). On Thursday and Friday nights they have a great guitarist, Francisco! LAST BUT NOT, LEAST, back at Rancho. THE POOL BARS WERE SO Geaat and drinks and food excellent. Staff were all great especially Nahomy, David, and Ritchie ( Ricardo) just to name a few! ”

May 2023Grand Solmar
The unit was very beautiful. This resort is on pacific side, and the weather is 30 degrees cooler than Cabo San Lucas. It was very cold and windy in May. Most of the resort is under construction. Only the first phase out of six phases is ready. The lagoon is wonderful if the weather is nice. They said it is always windy and cold in April and May. There is a shuttle to their sister resort in downtown but the guests at grand Solmar can not use the sister resort facilities. Only restaurants are available and reservation is required. We weren’t told this detail when we went there, therefore we couldn’t use the facilities and the resort is on top of the hill and far from downtown, so you will need to get a taxi from there to go to the beach and/or downtown. ”

March 2023Super fun spring break at Grand Solmar
We recently got the third home and our first stay was at the Grand Solmar Penthouse. The penthouse was beautiful, great views, great service, lots of fun poolside activities for the kids. The third home program is the real deal… we have great opportunities to stay at great properties all over the world! Lots of opportunities here in the US as well. Third home is nothing like those other “exchanges” that promise lots of properties to exchange. Third home did not disappoint, it was easy to access properties. We have since booked our second stay for the memorial weekend in La Quinta. Looking forward. Family of 4. 11 and 10 year old.”

March 2023Enjoyable but lots of room for improvement
Spacious wonderful rooms. Views aren’t that great and getting a chair at the pool is next to impossible unless you’re down there at 8am or you’re relegated to the lagoon or kids area. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the Spa is great. The food prices are just stupid unless you’re on a meal plan. The first room location they gave us had no view in a very public area. They were nice enough to downgrade us to a room that had a view and was more private overlooking the pool. Not having in-suite laundry or an oven is a huge miss and major inconvenience. We spent most of our time playing golf and using the room balcony to sun. The resort needs more of everything. Just not ready for prime time and busy travel times like spring break. ”

March 2023Excellent time in Cabo!
We just returned from staying at The Grand Solmar, Rancho San Lucas. It was a beautiful resort on the ocean, about 20-25 minutes from downtown Cabo. It is about 45 minutes from the airport, and the resort is so big, it is three miles from the entrance to the check in. The people were very friendly and helpful. The room was huge, clean, and modern, overlooking the ocean. The resort had few restaurant choices (do not get the meal plan), but the pool area was large and not crowded. We would definitely return!”

March 2023Beautiful property with nice facilities and specious and functional room
The property is located north of downtown Cabo San Lucas, away from noise and crowd, but easily accessible with a resort shuttle bus to the sister properties. Marina and restaurants/activities are only a short distance walk away. As guests of the Rancho San Lucas, we could also use facilities of sister properties, and restaurants/bars which we could charge to our room at the Rancho. We could also park our rental car at the Grand Solmar Land's End with no charge. Off property restaurants were also nice, we dine at Picaro. Amazing view from the room and all the restaurants, enjoyed watching whales during the day and the sunset at the end of each day. Staff was very professional , helpful and informative with lots of smile which made our stay very comfortable. 7 days went very fast, and we can easily stay another week like many other guests do, as we found out. We will definitely return if the opportunity arises. ”

Beautiful property on the Pacific. Enjoyed their three restaurants ANICA, Picaro, and Bacari on site. Our granddaughter and her college friend joined us for. Spring break. They enjoyed the many poolside activities as well as the spa. Staff provided excellent service.Only negative was the wind on some of our days there. Bring layers as it can be very cool at night. Our rooms were right in the beach in building A.”

February 2023Guest
Beautiful room and facilities. Incredible view of the ocean and surroundings. Friendly and accommodating staff. Absolutely no timeshare hustle. Fun activities around the pool but also quiet places and always available pool chairs. As a guest, I only was annoyed when told only owners get the kayaks free…really petty. Thought we’re guests of owners ”

February 2023Great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is kinda far from the airport and the most economical way to get there is via taxi ($115 for 4 people). We asked the hotel to get us a cab on the way back and ended up getting a really nice large SUV for a little less. You can't swim in the ocean, but there are several pools/hot tubs on the property. There is a bus to their sister property in the middle of Cabo. They will drop you off there and it gives you a chance to check out the city and walk around. Staff was very nice and food was reasonably priced. The whales were migrating in Feb. You could see them off the balcony and down on the beach. It was really neat to see them at all different times of the day. ”

December 2022Out of the way
If you want to be in the downtown hustle and bustle, this may not be the property for you. It does have a free shuttle that takes you to the sister resort Lands End.”

December 2022Stunning and Spacious Acoomodations
We absolutely loved our stay at the 2 bedroom penthouse at the Grand Solmar. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 to spread out and could easily have fit another two guests with the murphy bed in the living room (separate from seating area) and 3rd full bath off the kitchen. The property had great pools and the food was very good (although a little repetitive). The only cons of this property are that it is a little further from town (15 min shuttle provided by the resort) and the beach proximity/views was somewhat limited compared to other resorts that we have stayed in. We still found the overall experience top quality. We will be back.”

November 2022Whale watching from the balcony
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rancho San Lucas. The view from the room was amazing. We found ourselves lingering over morning coffee and spending happy hour on the balcony whale watching. The golf course was in good shape, the guys at the Tide pool bar were super friendly as were the valet/bellman. We'd definitely return to this resort.”

November 2022Thanksgiving in Paradise!
This was our second stay at Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas in the 2-bedroom penthouse and the experience was just as wonderful as it was the first time, plus the amazing opportunity to sit on the balcony and watch the whales playing out in the ocean! I would highly recommend this property for any future visit to Cabo San Lucas, especially when traveling with a family or large group! Both our visits took place during American holidays of Independence Day and Thanksgiving and the resort planned fantastic meals and events to allow us to celebrate in paradise!”

October 2022Fantastic Stay!
First time user of ThirdHome. Our stay at Grand Somar Residences at Rancho San Lucas was amazing. Our 2 bedroom penthouse had a huge wrap around balcony with eating and sitting areas as well as comfy lounge chairs. The view of the sunset on the ocean was fabulous. The bed was luxuriously comfortable. We enjoyed the deep set copper tub with view of the ocean/sunset. Restaurants and pool/lagoon were very good.”

October 2022Great trip with Friends
Rancho is a great new development. We cannot wait to go back once the are bigger and better. Even though there was construction going on it did not ever bother us during our stay. The pools were great, the kids loved the water slide and rope swing. The kids club was also an exceptional experience. Even though the dining at the resort is minimal the food was fantastic. We will be going back!”

August 2022Beautiful Property, Excellent Views, Great Staff - A Little Quiet
This property was incredible!! We were in a beach front room on the top floor. It was a 2 bed/3 bath unit and the master suite was fantastic. It had a full shower room with spa tub which had ocean views. The living room opened to a large balcony with expansive views. A couple of the days we were there, we saw manta rays jumping out of the ocean. That was a treat! The staff was helpful and friendly. Two people in our party needed medical help and they have a doctor on the property. We were told that we would have to call for the room to be cleaned if we wanted that (since it's not a hotel). Instead it was automatic, same as a hotel. We appreciated that. Our rental car wouldn't start one morning and the staff got it going. We truly appreciated all they did for us. The property is still being built so there wasn't a huge selection of restaurants but the two they have are good. There was a small storm when we were there so some of the pool bars (which also had food service) closed due to weather. Due to time of year and location being slightly outside of town, occupancy appeared very low. I would estimate there were less than 100 guests when we were there. It was nice & quiet. A wonderful place to stay and we'd definitely go again!!”

April 2021Grand Solmar Residences at Rancho San Lucas.
Beautiful interiors and well appointed accommodations. It would be nice to have an in unit washer and dryer, but a laundry room with machines at extra cost were available nearby. The multiple types of pools on site were appreciated. Some of the buildings and locations of units are superior than others. The on site dining was expensive and underwhelming. This area and property can be particularly windy. ”

July 2022Great Place to relax if you don’t mind being far from town
Penthouse was great - loved the balcony looking out to the ocean. On-site restaurants were good and the water slides and Tuesday night outdoor movie was a hit with the kids. Only complaint would how expensive the kids club was if you just wanted the half day option which was only 2 hours/ no sibling discount which made it more expensive than a nanny in San Francisco per hour.”

May 2022Beautiful but too windy
Unable to use facilities. Had to be bussed into town. I guess early May is often windy.”

April 2022Excellent room
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Please note this property can be windy! During our week, the cold wind blew so much that we found it less desirable enjoying the pool areas than our own balcony. The staff was extremely friendly. This property is remote like others have stated so having your own car rental is a must if you want to enjoy other areas. We loved how quiet it was! As for the room, the word Penthouse can be misleading here as others have stated. There are very few penthouses that have a good ocean view and the manager basically told me that 3rd home clients would never be able to get them. They also will put you in building K most of the time. Not great but the rooms are very nice. Here is a tip: I asked to be downgraded to a Presidential suite. Apparently there is very little difference between the two. As a result, they put me in an ocean front room that was excellent! Unless you need a couch that turns into another bed, this will greatly improve your location on the property. There is no ocean swimming here but long strolls on the beach we’re a highlight. ”

April 2022Great experience!
Far exceeded our expectations for an all-inclusive, from our unit to the food to the service. Thinking about a return visit, it could use another full-service restaurant on-site, but it turned out to be an exceptional stay. The servers, bartenders and staff were incredibly friendly — and made our visit just about perfect. Get the meal plan—great quality and value. Would definitely return.”

April 2022Satisfying stay in Los Cabos
We stayed in Grand Solmar, Rancho San Lucas, during the first week of April. The property itself is beautiful, very well appointed and maintained, and the staff is very friendly. The kids specially enjoyed the slides in the main pool. The property is large enough, with several pools, and it never feels crowded. There is some construction going on but it didn't bother us. The fact that they don't push their time-share business too aggressively is appreciated. One minor complaint is that they seem to nickel and dime you for everything: no complementary water in the units, no dishwashing soap, you need to buy tokens to use the washer and dryer, can't use the bikes they have outside of a paid "tour", etc. Couple of negatives: the property is far from everything (which, on the other hand, might be a plus for some), if you want to go out for dinner, tours, beaches, etc, be prepared to spend a lot of time in a car; the other is the wind, which can be quite strong on this side of the peninsula (this might be refreshing in the summer but otherwise, makes for a cold vacation). ”

April 2022Great stay at Grand Solmar
We really enjoyed our stay at Grand Solmar Rancho San Lucas. As other posters have commented, the name Penthouse does not mean you are gauranteed the top floor, however we had numerous units booked and did end up with two fourth floor units with excellent views. The views from the 3rd and 2nd floor were fine too. I would imagine first floor might not be great but you would benefit from the wind being blocked from other buildings. First, I will start with the negative, although I will say they did not detract at all from our overall experience. This time of year this area is VERY windy. It was much chillier than San Jose Del Cabo or even downtown Cabo San Lucas. However, while we were at the pool and lagoon it was still very warm, even hot at times. Those areas seem to be sheilded from the wind but the balcony was unusable most days because it was just too cold. Next, the property is still under a lot of construction. Construction noise was minimal and did not bother us at all. Finally, there is no washer/dryer in the unit. There was one washer and dryer on the ground floor for which you could purchase tokens. Slight inconvenience but it was fine. When this resort is complete it will be absolutely amazing. As for the positives, everything else was spectacular. The rooms are beautiful and well kept. Cleaning staff was amazing. Restaurants had great food and there were plenty of options. There were plenty of activities for the kids although our kids didn't utilize them much because they were too busy on the waterslides and tarzan swing. We also rented the Balinese Cabanas for three of our days and it was great service and worked very well for our rather large party. We used the shuttle service into town and it was easy and convenient. We also got to see a whale in the ocean even though whale season is mostly over. We participated in the fitness center classes which were great. The golf course looked beautiful although none of us played. Spa was also beautiful! The room itself is absolutely beautful and very well appointed. One of the nicest that we have stayed in through thirdhome. The best part were the amazing lagoon and pools. We spent most of our time there and it was great. I would love to visit Grand Solmar again!”

April 2022Fabulous Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas
We loved our stay here! It was my husband’s first visit & my second. This is a very high end family-friendly resort that is also peaceful and uncrowded. The staff and service are top notch. We took long walks on the vast beach and read in the cabanas at the adult pool. We were never bothered by children enjoying themselves or anyone else. We thought the food was very good and most people don’t seem to realize there are 3 restaurants and a deli along with the pool menu. Picaro is up at the entrance and staff will run you up there and back for dinner. Picaro is simply divine and my new favorite restaurant in Cabo. Bacari hosted two grill nights on the lagoon beach with entertainment and we also had a fabulous dinner at the main fine dining restaurant, Anica. We skipped the theme nights. Those complaining about noise from construction of the new building going up in the Residences need to realize that’s where ALL of the penthouses are located and that “penthouse’ is a floor plan in Mexico & doesn’t mean you’ll be on the top floor. My previous stay at this resort was in a ground floor penthouse & we still had a lovely view, but not a panoramic view. This time, I asked if there were any presidentials (also 2 bedrooms/3 full baths but smaller) available away from the construction and we stayed in building B2 with a gorgeous view across the lagoon and beach. This resort is on the pacific side so it is much cooler and quite breezy. Cactus Tours offers ATVs, camel rides & mtn biking and it is only about 20 minutes up the coast and they provide transpo. We were chilly in the April evenings so bring a couple of sweaters if you go during the winter season. There is a continuous shuttle between Rancho and the Grand Solmar at Land’s End and then you can walk to the marina area. We took a couple of pricey cabs to visit friends and renting a car is not a bad idea. ”

March 2022Great stay at a quiet resort
The 2 bedroom presidential was well laid out and nicely appointed. No dishwasher (but the maid does a great job), no washer machine in unit but one in the 1st floor. Resort grounds and pool are beautiful. Golf course is great. People are all wonderful. A little sleepy and slow but it’s Mexico. I will definitely return.”

March 2022Stay at Grand Solmar
Over the past 3 years I've been to Cabo 6 times. I would give the Grand Solmar at Rancho Las Cabos the lowest grade of all of the places I've stayed. I was disappointed that a 2 bedroom Penthouse was on the ground floor with only a very limited view of the ocean. The room itself was quite nice. If you choose to stay here you absolutely need to have a car, it is a long way to any of the activities in either Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. My biggest complaint is that the food at the restaurant is terrible. We tried the main restaurant for dinner and breakfast and were really disappointed. We tried the more casual restaurant for Mexican Night and the food there was worse. It is hard to imagine bad Mexican food in Mexico but they served it. The burgers and snacks from the pool bars were fine. The restaurants also markedly marked up the price of a bottle of wine. A wine that I can buy at home for $25 in a store or perhaps pay $45 for in a restaurant was $110 at the restaurant here. The golf course on the property was fine.”

March 2022Better than expected!
Judging from previous reviews, we weren't sure what to expect on this trip. First of all, know that ALL residences at this location are labeled "Penthouse", but most are actually not, and this should be removed from the listing description on Third Home, not just a small "*" added at the bottom of the listing. Aside from being in the "Interval" exchange unit in building K on the bottom floor, with no view of the ocean at all, the 2 bedroom condo we were given was very nice and well appointed (no dishwasher or laundry in unit though). Being virtually brand new, everything is clean, and built with high quality including the windows which effectively isolated us from all the daily construction noise from a new building going up literally next door. In fact, it appears that only half of the planned resort has been completed to date, so construction will likely be going on for many years to come. Our unit was in building K which is the furthest from the main pool/lagoon, and had no separate adjacent smaller pool as do most of the others residence buildings, but the property is relatively well laid out and within 5-10 mins you can walk just about anywhere. I would not recommend this location for anyone with disabilities however, as there are several grades to traverse. As I mentioned before, the quality of all the construction and architecture as well as landscaping (although still immature and primarily cactuses and palms) is exceptional! So was the service we received, especially from housekeeping and the wait staff. Avoid the "free breakfast" sales pitch unless you have half a day to kill. We politely declined on check in and were not bothered any further. Also, there is no separate check in for members/owners so you may be standing in line for a while. The culinary offerings were also quite good considering that you have an all inclusive option, but read the fine print. We ate off property in Cabo at some of our favorites most nights. Enjoyed an after dinner drink by one of the fire pits at Anica... it was chilly most evenings in mid March! The watersides and kayaking in the lagoon were major hits for our daughter! Beware, the water in March is cold and we ourselves did not spend any time in the pools! Unfortunately, as for most of Cabo the ocean is not swimmable due to the strong current and riptides. The resort is location is quite remote, several miles North of Cabo central, and although they provide an hourly shuttle to their sister resort at Lands End, a rental car is highly recommended if you plan any off site activities/meals. You are approximately 30 mins from the SJD airport if you take the toll road ($5 cash each way). All in all a very relaxing Spring Break that we would repeat! ”

February 2022Beautiful Resort, But Remote
There are two Grand Solmar resorts in Cabo - one is Rancho San Lucas and the other is Lands End (which is right in Cabo). We stayed at Rancho San Lucas. If you like desert landscaping and views, this is the place for you. It is set in the desert (once you enter the property, it's about a 10 minute drive down to the resort, which is on the ocean, all through desert). The resort itself has very desert type landscaping, nothing lush, but it has a beauty nonetheless. The ocean views are wonderful - we could see whales breaching from our room balcony. Outstanding! The room (2 bedroom) was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. The kitchen has all the necessities, including coffee maker, blender, pots and pans, dishes, etc. The service was good, if a bit slow in the restaurant and pool areas. But it wasn't an overwhelming problem. There is a shuttle (we had a car) that goes back and forth to Lands End resort, which is basically in Cabo San Lucas. But keep in mind that this resort is about a 30 minute drive into Cabo San Lucas, and probably about 45 minutes from San Jose. If you want to do anything other than stay at the resort or shuttle into Cabo, you should definitely consider a rental car (not cheap). It is worth the shuttle ride to go to Lands End. That resort is beautiful - built in and among rocks - very unique! The golf course is absolutely magnificent!! There are not a lot of options for food at the resort. The grocery store is minimally stocked - very little there. There is a burger place (just ok food), you can order pizza to be delivered to the room (great!), a main restaurant that we did not eat at, and they have specialty dinners every night in another area of the resort (such as seafood night, Mexican night, etc.). We ate at one and the food was excellent. There is also a deli for sandwiches, etc. and of course poolside food and drinks (very good). There are four pool areas - one huge with a kids' area at one end and slide, etc., and three other small ones, one of which is adult only. There is construction going on, and from what we could tell, would be going on for the considerable future. It is only at one end of the resort (which is where we were, probably because we were there on Third Home, not as members). You can escape the noise by going over to the large pool or the adult pool. Otherwise, we could hear the noise from our room. But, they were considerate - started at 8am, ended at 5pm. The beach is beautiful, but you definitely CANNOT SWIM here. The undertow is too great. We never saw anyone swimming. But in fairness, you can't swim in the ocean anywhere down the Pacific side all the way through Cabo, including at Lands End. You have to go further up to the Sea of Cortez to do that. In summary, Grand Solmar Rancho San Lucas was great for a one time stay for us. If you like remote, and not lots of people in a beautiful desert landscape, this place is for you! ”

November 2021Nice place outside of town
We are owners here and enjoy it so much we booked an extra week via Third Home. Great place away from town to enjoy the quiet of the Pacific Ocean.”

February 2022vacation with friends
The resort is in a very secluded area, We rented a car from the airport and I would recommend having a car since everything is far away. There are new buildings going up in the resort but the real negative part was that the building that is dedicated to Third home members is located right next to the construction site, at one point the whole building was shaking with two tractors and a cement truck right next door, the view from the unit was great if you didn't look at 35 workers to the right of you and didn't get distracted with the tremendous noise. We requested to be moved and it took two days and several calls and complaints for us to be moved to a much smaller unit and not as good as the ocean view. In my opinion the units on that building should not be available for rent. We were ready to leave and come back home if they did not move our room, but we were told that this is the building that is available for third home . So unless you plan on getting up and out of the unit by 7:00 am and not to return till 4 pm then you should consider this resort. The rest of the resort is nice and the new unit we were moved to was great except smaller, if they would have started us in this one I would have a totally different review. The restaurants are great, the resort is very quiet except for the construction noise. very desert like not much greenery. I would not be returning to this resort. ”

December 2021Rancho San Lucas
Room was nice as well as the property- it’s a little out of the way if you want to get back into town- about a 30-40 min taxi ride. Service was below average for sure- while they were nice when you talked with them it always seemed like we had to go find someone to order food and drinks which is different from every other resort we have stayed at in Cabo. All in all it was a good stay but we will be heading to other resorts that provide better service and have better access to town:) ”

December 20212 Br Residences
We had 3 different 2Br residences among 3 families. The rooms were fantastic, well equipped, and very spacious. The resort is very nice and has plenty open currently even though there is construction going on as they continue to grow the resort. The service overall was a bit slow at the pool and restaurant areas but with Covid rapidly spreading and them being short-staffed that is to be expected. We would return again in the future.”
Ross P.
December 2021Won’t be back
The resort is relatively new and isolated from Cabo San Lucas the check in was a little slow and the rooms were nice however the reason for the poor rating was constant noise from the on going construction and the biggest disappointment was the standard of the food which was extremely substandard at best.”

December 2021Beautiful unit, poor views
If using Thirdhome for a stay here, there is no guarantee of getting an ocean view unit. Most of the units here have fantastic views, but we were placed on the first floor of the building with this type of unit. Our view was a large building in front of us. We did have a small peak of the ocean if we looked only to the right on the porch. Oof. Spending this much for the exchange fee and keys, I was thinking I would have a good view. Just beware and don't have high expectations for watching the ocean from your room. The unit itself and resort were fantastic. But people did go down to the pools early to reserve chairs. We couldn't ever get a spot with shade unless we paid for a cabana. The kids loved the water slide. Not sure I would stay here again for the cost given the poor view you might get when staying here. ”

October 2021Repeat Visitor
This was my third stay at the Rancho San Lucas and it was WONDERFUL! Exactly what I was expecting. Just a short 15-30 min drive to downtown Cabo, traffic depending. Great water park to play in with children or young at heart adults. Will not be my last time here!”

October 2021Great Time at Grand Solmar
Overall, great facility. Staff was very friendly and were very responsive. Pools and water activities all really fun. Rooms were very spacious, well laid out and clean. Was also nice to be able to take dedicated shuttle service to downtown property and utilize their facilities as well. ”

October 2021Could be great, needs some work
This is a lovely resort, it is bit remote, but we enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle of Cabo. The unit is nice, but it is definitely NOT a penthouse. It is on the ground floor, behind other buildings with a small glimpse of the ocean between those buildings. Our particular unit while spacious, also showed some significant signs of aging (stained furniture, broken lock on bathroom doors, bent/broken legs on living area furniture). I knew that the unit lacked a washer/dryer, but was not prepared for the fact that there also is no Dishwasher. The property is beautiful and the service staff are top notch and very friendly. The food was of good quality, but the offerings at all of the pools and bars are exactly the same and very limited. I expected food prices to be high at the resort, but found that prices were reasonable. The spa is fantastic and good value for the money. ”

October 2021The good and the bad of it.
The room itself was amazing. The location on the resort was aweful. The penthouse buildings are on the back side of the resort so instead of looking at the ocean, you look at the back of buildings from almost every angle.”

May 2021Great Resort
We just visited Rancho San Lucas for the third time and am yet to be disappointed. The rooms are lovely and spacious. The staff knows you by name and are all very friendly. The balcony was huge with amazing views of the ocean. This is a real good key value in my opinion. Only thing that makes this stay less than perfect is the lack of a washer and dryer in the room. They do have a laundry room but it is $3.50 to wash and another $3.50 to dry. We found a place downtown where we just drop our laundry off and a few hours and $10 later the clothes are washed and folded and smell so good. Unfortunately for us the wind blew all week and we actually were cold ( this was the middle of May) even during the day occasionally. But the huge salt water pool with two water slides and a hanging rope will add excitement to your pool experience. We have two future stays already in the books !! ”

February 2020Great Time!
My family enjoyed our stay at the Penthouse at the Golf Course Villa. There is plenty of room and nice outdoor areas also. We cooked out and had dinner one night on the top patio. We enjoyed watching a huge moon rise as we were dining. My husband and son really enjoyed the golf course and played 3 afternoons. The security at the condos and golf course was excellent. We rented bikes and it was the perfect way to travel to restaurants, shopping, and the beach club. The area is perfect for enjoying biking. We had beautiful weather every day also. Larry is an excellent host. He had his property manager pick us up and introduce us to the area and the condo. He also had treats for us on the counter when we arrived. His suggestions for restaurants was also great. We especially liked El Barracuda and Fajita Republic. ”

March 2020Nice unit, odd resort rules and far out location
The property itself is very well done, as mentioned in the ad there’s a little construction going on but it’s really not that inconvenient. The condos very well appointed and has a lot of high-end finishes. The resort is located about 20 minutes away from downtown, restaurants etc. The resort also is very strict about only allowing and registered guests of the unit. If you plan on having company, our friends not staying with you to unit you at your unit it’s not allowed, and they are turned away.”

February 2020Rancho San Lucas - Pacific side
This property misses on many marks! The units are large and nicely decorated, but do not have dishwashers or washer and dryers in the unit. The staff and service is very poor. Food was mediocre at best and overpriced at the restaurants. There is lots of construction noise at the pool and spa area. If you can get a different property in Cabo San Lucas, go there. You also can not Uber off the property, they don't allow it. ”

February 20205 Stars for Sure!
This resort is very nice and the penthouse is decorated with great style. We are staying 2 weeks and I will not be ready to leave. This is a very spacious unit(Building K) and it is even prettier that the penthouse pictured on Thirdhome. We have enjoyed the newest restaurant at the resort, Picaro. We have gone for dinner and Sunday brunch. The service is the spectacular and the food is delicious too. We have also enjoyed the Country Grill night both weeks. The golf course is beautiful too with well kept fairways and greens. The holes have a wonderful view of the ocean. The view from the balcony is the best with whales spouting continually. This is an enormous property but so much is within an easy walk. There are many pools and they are such a pleasant temperature. There is a pool with activities for children(water slide) and an adult pool. I would love to come back and I highly recommend Grand Solmar Rancho San Lucas. Ben and Lucy Locke 5 stars for sure! ”

February 2020Life is Better at Rancho
Rancho San Lucas is a fabulous place. All the units are new, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The maid service is great. The free shuttle bus to their other resort at Lands End every hour makes it easy to go into town. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. The food is great. Golf Course is one of the best. Will definitely go back.”

February 2020Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas
Our stay at the Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas was extremely nice, although during our first day or two, we found ourselves somewhat confused. There's more than one "Grand Solmar". We stayed at "Rancho". It was just getting dark as we were finding out way to the Resort. The entrance in seemed like it was forever! The following day, we went into town and in doing so, we found the entrance didn't seem quiet as long and is beautifully landscaped! The entire area was well kept and beautiful. It's still a "work in progress" and there weren't a lot of "guests" around, although the properties are being shown daily. As early evening sets in, everything seems to close down. The evening we arrived (Early Evening), we asked where all the guests were. It was around 6:30 and there was barley a guest around. We were told, "they go in to town". The resort has several pool areas and since there weren't many guests for such a large resort, we found the pool areas very quiet and hardly used. This too will change as time goes on. If you prefer calmness and quiet, you will love this place. We do! Our Penthouse was very nice. The staff couldn't have been any better! We had daily house keeping, the bedding changed daily, our bed turned down in the evening and fresh bottles of water on our night stands. They offer several restaurants, which we tried a few. The food was great. Grand Solmar Rancho is not close to anything. They do offer packages for meals if you choose. They also have a small "market", a lovely deli, which we had a nice breakfast at. We rented a car from the airport. That experience also went well. The resort offers a shuttle into Town every hour on the hour. It's not your "normal" shuttle. It's a huge, NEW touring bus! It's a great way to get around. Would we go here again? DEFINATLEY ! ”

January 2020Great Place
The Resort is so nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in Building K-(yes it does matter which blding as far as views are concerned). Every morning we woke to watching whales play in the Ocean, every night we watched the sunset! The food was terrific, staff very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed every aspect. If I had to find something to nitpik about, no dishwasher in the unit-but the nice cleaning lady did them for us). The Golf course is insane- not enough space to write how nice it was. One thing to keep in mind- there will be more construction- so ask about it when you book. We are already planning a return trip”

October 2019Service at it's best!
Luxury and beauty find their pinnacle at Rancho San Lucas! The 2 BR penthouse is well appointed and designed, close to the pools and have ocean views. The service at the resort is excellent. Great food, great people, great location!!!!”

October 2019Very nice but a bit far
The room we stayed in was very nice - clean, well designed and comfortable. From the staff around the pool to the restaurants to the front desk, all were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The place is still under construction but there were enough amenities open to keep us happy and we did not experience any inconveniences from the construction (eg loud noises, dust, etc). Overall a very nice visit. However, be prepared to have to hang around the resort. It’s very far from anything else, though they have a complimentary shuttle to their sister resort (Lands End) that runs every 2 hours. ”

July 2019Very nice resort
Beautiful and spacious. The master bathroom was amazing. The living room was open and comfortably appointed. There was definitely a wow factor when you entered the residence. One drawback was the huge building that obstructed half our ocean view. Not sure why there wasn't a washer and dryer in the unit and charging $7 a load to wash and dry your own clothes leaves one with a sour taste in their mouth. Another disappointment was the resort was very sandy and brown (it is the desert) with only patches of colorful vegetation. Lots of construction on and around the resort was a distraction. A few years from now this will probably be a desirable destination. ”

July 20192-Bedroom Penthouse very nice, but resort isn't quite ready
I preface this by saying I'm an owner at GS Land's End, and this will some day be every bit a 5-star resort, however, it just isn't quite there - much construction going on all around the grounds & heavy equipment moving sand everywhere. The food & beverages are expensive for Cabo, although the happy hours are 2-for-1 twice a day at the pools. As for a comparison of the 2-bedroom penthouse unit, the floorplan is very spacious & elegant, kitchen is wide open to the living space (no dining table?), and sliding glass then entire width of the main room opens to a wrap-around patio, with table & 6 chairs (outdoor dining in July). The unit we stayed in was in building 'L' which has a view of nothing (from the second level), so if you book this resort, ask them immediately for any other residence building besides 'L', or an upper floor unit. They made no effort to move us to another building during the stay, even after repeated requests at the front desk. The lagoon pool is great fun for kids & adults, the service was overall 3-stars, often times 2-stars.”

April 2019Spring Break Grand Solmar
We had a wonderful family vacation! Israel the trainer was outstanding, the water slides were awesome and the bellmen were fantastic. We would definitely stay here again! ”

March 2019Awesome!
What a fantastic experience! This is truly a 5* resort with everything you need. We had not tried all-inclusive before and were sent an option before we arrived. What a treat it was! Beautifully prepared and creative fresh food, awesome drinks - it was really a great experience. No buffets. The morning green detox drink was lovely and the kids had fresh smoothies. All of the staff were extremely professional and attentive. The management was fantastic. Water slides, adult swim up bars, awesome kids club (Vidi!!) and great lagoon activities (Lupita!) We will be back. The rooms are beautiful! Greg Norman was on site a few of the days while we were there.”

March 2019Grand Solmar Rancho - Not Quite There Yet
The 2 bedroom penthouse we were assigned to overlooked construction with no beach view. We asked to be moved and were put in a presidential suite (one size smaller) with a beach front view. While the accommodations were beautiful, we did have one night where the sewage system in the building was stopped up and the smell came through our shower and bathroom vents, which was eventually fixed at 2am with no other problems. New construction issue I would guess. The pools were wonderful, and the beach sunset views of the Pacific spectacular. The staff was friendly. There was no washer and dryer in the room and they made you pay for a token to wash and dry which felt a little out of place at such a nice resort (felt like being "nickled and dimed"). The restaurant was decent. We used the on-site store for snacks and deli for lunch and crapes. The walk from the room to the main building deli and store was a little bit of a trek. Beautiful weather. Only one day of bad wind, being on the pacific side, which is known for the wind. In about 2 or 3 years, when the golf course is complete and construction slows, it will be 4 star, and 5 star in 5 years most likely. We would return in 3 to 4 years. Other places in Cabo on Third Home are more mature and ready for visitors at this stage.”

January 2019Rancho San Lucas is Awesome
Beautiful Resort and Penthouse! Great Service and friendly staff. Food and Beverages were excellent. Most amazing sunrises and sunsets everyday. Gorgeous Location. It's new and under construction but they do a great job of making it nice while building away. I would definitely return.”

December 2018Beautiful Views
This resort is going to be spectacular. The construction is a bit annoying. The staff was very accommodating. The availability to shuttle to their sister resort, Lands End was great to use their facilities and have access to the town. We will definitely go back.”

April 2018Disappointed. Not close to being ready for guests.
We were excited to try a new place in Cabo and was so disappointed that this resort should not be admitting guest. Yes. The place eventually will be outstanding but possibly two years from now. New construction is going on all over. The people at this resort are extremely nice and cordial. I truly believe they don’t care about what’s going on just to get people to see the place and opportunity to sell them time shares. This is the owners issue and not the employees. We stayed two days and then went to a beautiful property closer to town. The property is about a 20-25 minute taxi to Cabo. Their sister property is beautiful, Land’s End. My suggestion is to go to a property that gets great reviews and not under construction. Third Home has a bunch of them. Go and enjoy Cabo. It’s so much fun and has great restair ants.”

April 2018Grand Solmar Rancho San Lucas
Great room. Great service......but the resort is not yet up to speed. Lots of construction everywhere. Golf course is not complete. Food at upscale restaurant not great. Other food (room service, pool side service, other comfort food) was fine. Also, this resort is not near town so it's a 20-45 min trip to town if you want to eat somewhere else. I have stayed at the Grand Solmar Lands End and this resort is not yet on par with that resort. I do however, suspect that this resort will be fabulous (5 star) once it is complete as the attention to detail and service from the staff were exceptional.”

March 2018Nice but still under construction
This will eventually be an awesome property but it is still very much an active construction project and many of the resort amenities/features are not open yet. That said the rooms are beautiful and the staff is very helpful/friendly. There is a shuttle that will take you downtown to the “sister” resorts Playa Grande and Lands End so you can use their Facilties until Rancho gets more of theirs opened up.”
