Wow Factor!

This Room had the automatic Wow Factor, you take the elevator directly to you suite and when the door open you see you massive pool and hot tub overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Room was overwhelming large, with over 6000 sq ft of living on 1 floor. The resort itself was solid, unfortunately it was windy every single day, which made it cold in the evenings. Almost perfect stay in Gran Solmar

Our trip to Solmar was almost perfect. I say “almost perfect” for the following reason: The four-bedroom penthouse had an exceptional view, and it was very clean and spacious. The four couples who stayed this week enjoyed it very much. The pool and jacuzzi worked perfectly. In terms of service, the staff in all areas are truly five-star. EVERYONE has a strong service-oriented attitude — the front desk, bellboys, concierge, maintenance team, housekeeping, and restaurant staff. All of them were excellent. This also includes the staff at the Solmar golf course, which we enjoyed tremendously. With all these positive comments, why not perfect? Because the dishwasher did not work during our stay. They tried to fix it several times, spending hours on it, but it was not possible. Hopefully, it will be replaced so that future guests can experience true perfection during their stay. For us, it was a 4.5-star experience, and we left with a strong desire to return to this paradise.”

Outstanding Penthouse

Perfect place for a family vacation! The penthouse was beautiful. Lots of space and a lovely pool. The facilities at the resort had something for everyone. Lots of kids activities. Great restaurants. We will definitely be back.”

The accommodations were beautiful and very spacious. Great view, and wonderful staff. Fantastic food in all the restaurants. Not crowded in June but….really windy. I would book again but in a less windy month.”

Beautiful condo, but lacking in service and food quality

We had a great time hosting our group, and the penthouse was beautiful and accommodating. The only issues we had were with poor service and sub-par food quality, as well as a lack of options on the resort. Hopefully they can improve on this. ”

Wow! Ocean Front Penthouse - Breathtaking Views!

Absolutely loved this resort. The 4-bdr penthouse was incredible! It was a spacious, absolutely beautifully decorated suite, with a great panoramic view of the ocean from every room. If you want to impress your guests, this is the unit for it. The private pool and jacuzzi are nice touches. Every room was spacious and well appointed. If I had to find a complaint, it would be lack of icemaker and limited electrical outlets. But that's nitpicking, and wasn't a deal breaker for me. I'll definitely be going back.”

Pros and Cons

We had a great trip to Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes. We went in with the right expectations, knowing it was far from most attractions. The resort itself was lovely—offering great activities, an amazing spa, and a solid selection of food and drinks. The residence, however, was a bit of a mixed experience. While the space was large, allowing our group to spread out comfortably, we struggled with stuffiness and an unpleasant odor. There was a noticeable sewer-like smell coming from the vents, which took four days of constant airing out to dissipate. Unfortunately, it would return whenever the doors were kept closed. The pool was also quite cold, though the hotel maintained it, along with the hot tub, impeccably. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and did our best to make use of the pool as well. Our kids loved the hotel, and we had a wonderful time overall, but given the issues with the residence, we left feeling like we probably wouldn’t return.”

Grand Solmar Rancho Avg.

We go to Cabo a lot and wanted to try this resort as we have followed it for years as being built . We had stayed at Grand Solmar Lands End before which we loved but for some reason isn’t part of Third Home. The resort is only about 5-7 years old and still under construction. As soon as we walked in it was a press for a timeshare presentation which we politely refused and the level of attention and service went immediately downhill. Yes the 4 br penthouse was huge but somewhat tired and had a cold feeling because it was so big. Private pool , however heat would only work intermittently. We bought the all inclusive. Breakfast and lunches were good, dinners very average. There’s really only one upscale restaurant for such a big resort. The pacific side is very beautiful but it is a fairly long ride into town. I would not spend 17 keys again for this resort and this unit. Would rather a resort in the corridor between San Jose and Cabo.”

Beautiful stay

The penthouse with pool was amazing! Everything was beautifully decorated and very clean. We have kids and they had a great time at all of the pools, and it was very kid friendly - kids club and all. We also enjoyed taking the free shuttle to the sister resort in Cabo. The only slight downside was the available options for food, but we’d make sure to stop at Fresca next time for groceries. Highly recommend! ”

Ocean Front Penthouse- Absolutely Breathtaking Views!

This resort is the cleanest we have ever stayed at! From the bathrooms to the hand rails to the elevators, there were constantly people making sure things were wiped down and clean! We loved the service too! We did the meal plan for $99 a day per adult (all in the room must do it) and I assure we came out ahead! The food and drinks are Awesome!!! We stayed in the 4 bedroom Penthouse and though it was windier than we would have liked we were blown away by the accommodations! Had our own heated private pool, patios with uninhibited views of the ocean and our own washer and dryer! The only disappointment with Rancho San Lucas is no in room ice makers. Ice is a problem. So buy an ice chest and fill it up if you like a lot of ice! We will go back! Amazing property!”
